66 and clear for this evening.

kittygrrl 03-02-2018 09:38 PM

weather...better then expected

Chad 03-02-2018 11:16 PM

Weather report

72 degees and sunny in central Texas. Spring is coming to Texas.

I am worried about my friends in the northeast.

Gemme 03-04-2018 09:52 PM

I lost power for a little shy of 50 hours. When you lose power, you start to count time much like parents count time for babies--in very small increments.

The alarm at work didn't stop until it came back on, so I had that blaring in my ear all day Saturday. Not a fun day. Let's not do that again.

The winds were lifting up the roof of the business next door on Friday and the water was being pulled out of the gutter, so it looked like a special effect and it was flying off into the sky.

Winter storm Riley was weird. The people that typically lose power, didn't, and those who typically hold on to it, didn't. It's opposites day!

Kobi 03-05-2018 05:34 AM

It's raining again. Flood and wind warnings are up again. And, cuz we havent had enough fun, another nor'easter on tap for Wed with an unclear rain/snow line. Thinking snow would be better than more rain but maybe not.

Corkey, the next one is coming from your direction. Thanks for sharing. LOL.

Hopefully the tree guys will get here before Wed.

Kobi 03-11-2018 06:02 PM

3rd time is a charm. Another nor'easter starting late tomorrow - with snow this time. Estimates of 6-12 inches with some localities up to 18 inches. And high winds. :|

This is becoming annoying. LOL.

Corkey 03-11-2018 06:32 PM

I'll take 3 to 5 for 1000 Alex

homoe 03-11-2018 07:09 PM

Today was in the mid 60's but Monday, we're expecting to break records for earliest 70's ever recorded in March.........

Gemme 03-11-2018 09:20 PM

Skylar's coming for me.

Kobi 03-12-2018 04:07 PM

Track of the storm shifted east. Blizzard, high wind, coastal flooding warnings up.

Everything but emergency services closed for tomorrow.

Not a good sign when the snow removal guys leave a trailer of equipment on the property.

Good for catching up on sleep. Hoping the power holds. Really need to invest in higher boots. Wonder if they make leather hip waders.

Kätzchen 03-12-2018 07:08 PM

The skies were clear as a bell this morning, yet this afternoon the skies ate hazy with nascent cloud cover moving in (more rain, but at least it's not snow).

High today was near 67*.

Low tonight around 45*.

Gemme 03-12-2018 08:59 PM

18 inches of snow headed my way.

I don't like 18 inches of anything, much less snow.

RockOn 03-12-2018 09:10 PM

I could not and would not want to hoist anything 18" up ... even with hydraulics!

Seriously, I do not see how folks in the northeast U.S. are making it.

All of you, take good care!

cathexis 03-13-2018 02:52 AM

Winter Storm Warning

We're expecting 8-12 inches. Could be 18 inches where we are.

Getting only light snow right now, but know what's coming.

Temp is 32F outside so it's right for the storm.

Kobi 03-13-2018 04:06 AM

This storm is not going to be pretty. LOL.

We have had monsoon rains all night. Now switching to snow. Winds are bringing snow in sideways. Temps dropping.

Have lost power once already. Coffee is on to fill the thermos. Must always have coffee. LOL. Chocolate would be nice too but I forgot to buy that.

JDeere 03-17-2018 11:33 PM

44 and partly cloudy in Essex Missouri.

C0LLETTE 03-17-2018 11:35 PM

I'm on Bondi Beach in Australia. It's 39C and "surf's up"

Kobi 03-19-2018 04:20 PM

There is another freaking nor'easter coming Wed into Thursday.

At the moment it seems like another wind problem rather than a rain/snow problem for us at the shore. Inland is a different story.

I am not even gonna deal with the projections of another one coming on the weekend.

*raises hand for inland suffering ahead

Soooo....I leave for work this morning with a forecast of 1-6 inches of snow and come home to 5-10 inches of snow.

Pardon my French, but fuck Toby and his 4'Easter.

VintageFemme 03-19-2018 07:14 PM

Just as Autumn arrives slow and late in north central Texas, Spring comes fast and early. And she's here. Temps in the 70s with cool breezes and lovely nights. Rain in the forecast and little blossoms everywhere. As soon as the storms end, the dreaded Summer arrives. I hope it's the stormiest Spring ever.

Kenna 03-21-2018 08:35 PM

I haven't shoveled this much snow in YEARS...thanks to the plow driver I had a. MOUNTAIN to move before it froze rock solid. I got the mountain moved and one car partially uncovered and the load removed from my truck's tonneau cover. The long ass driveway and trail for mailman will have to wait.

My buddy that lives in the next county over said "don't worry, it will melt tomorrow, supposed to be 40° tomorrow"...

My response: IT'S STILL SNOWING

RockOn 03-21-2018 10:46 PM

Kenna, that sounds purely awful!! So sorry you are having to endure this!!

Thank you, Rock.
There's no way this will melt in 2 days (my buddy is delusional).
I hope I get the truck out before my friend gets to the airport on Saturday.

We. got. nuthin'.

Snow showers off and on all day and night and some sticking around the edges but NOTHING to shovel.

After the previous storms, I'm good with this.

I'm even better with a forecast of 57 degrees next Thursday. Spring is coming!

nhplowboi 03-22-2018 09:57 PM

My kinda Nor'Easter!! It was sunny most of the day and 50 degree temps! Send us another one please.

Shhhhh!!!

Uma's out there with a nasty streak of wet snow.

You could regret saying that.

kittygrrl 03-23-2018 08:08 AM

Blade 03-23-2018 04:43 PM

Beautiful sunny 60 degree day! To bad I missed it cuz it is suppose to rain the next 2 days

JDeere 03-24-2018 09:36 PM

Kobi 03-25-2018 04:25 PM

Was supposed to be cloudy and mild.

Is snowing now and sticking. Was hailing earlier. Wind is whipping.

Think I might want to check the forecast for unexpected changes. :praying:

Kobi 04-02-2018 05:00 PM

It snowed this morning and is very cold. Temps are supposed to warm a bit this week.

Just a heads up for the east coast folks. The guy is coming on Wed to get my air conditioning set up. That should spur a blizzard by the end of the week.

cathexis 04-02-2018 05:46 PM

We didn't get any snow, Kobi. Temps. have been chilly enough.

Just fine by me as long as the electric blanket is working.

Slumlord had turned the heat off about 2 weeks ago.

Would like that last good blizzard before the heat comes. :goodluck:

Gemme 04-02-2018 05:59 PM

Today was the BEST snow day EVER!!!!

It snowed like Hell from about 6am until 2ish. Trees and grass and cars were covered in the stuff but the ground stayed wet and clear with just a little accumulation at the edges.

Score! Finally!

A good snow day that didn't result in me shoveling from here until Kingdom Come.

Put this one down in the record books, folks.

FireSignFemme 04-02-2018 06:24 PM

55 degrees. Weather channel says mostly cloudy but, it's clear bright skies dotted with fluffy clouds here. Winds are westerly at 10 miles per hour. Humidity 21%.

As for slumlords, there are probably enough stories other BFP members could share, relate to, to begin a whole new thread dedicated to just that. That is if one hasn't already been started yet. Then again in fairness there are probably triple the number of stories to be told involving bad tenants, and even more involving neighbors from hell.

Kätzchen 04-07-2018 10:36 AM

We have moderate balmy weather, but the Pacific Coast storms are ramping up hurricane force winds of over 75+ mph.... so be careful if you're out near the coast and surf watching. Here, inland, it's just waves and waves of rain, with intermittent sunshine.

High: low 60s.
Low: low 50s.

cathexis 04-07-2018 03:51 PM

Yesterday, we got about an inch of snow with the largest flakes
all season. Was absolutely beautiful.

Today, temps in the low 30s daytime with a good steady wind
making it feel much colder. Went out in a hoodie (good foe 30s),
back in for a liner jacket and a tuke. Wished I'd put on gloves.

Felt like a wuss for all that for a temp in the 30s, but I was warm.

Sweet as Cake 04-07-2018 11:11 PM

MORE snow on the way tomorrow !!!:crybaby: I've only lived in this "North country" for 3 years, perhaps I should return to the southwest ? !! ( though I guess I prefer the cold weather over The Rattlesnakes !!!):lol2:
Looking forward to 50 degrees midweek !
