So when do we find out who we are sending to? I kind of want to know so I can get an idea of how I want to create my project.

Thanks.

Gemme 05-04-2014 11:11 AM

So, if I'm understanding correctly, we're doing one puzzle project for Stepfordfemme's wrangle and that's due, in her hands, no later than July 15th.

In the meantime, Besame will also begin a wrangle that will be due before then.

Do I understand correctly?

Bèsame* 05-04-2014 11:16 AM

I'm still game to have one in the middle. I'm waiting for this project and all the logistics to finish up and then in a few days, I'll present my idea and see if I get any takers.

Practicing patience...we all have things going on ;)

I don't think we send directly to stepfordfemme- we send to the person directly (cost of money). Stepfordfemme is suppose to be drawing names and letting us know who we trade with. That was my understanding.

I would like to do it by random draw of all participants names--Everyone signs up...then I draw and let you know who you're going to ship to DIRECTLY.

A lot of good info here.... about what's happening.

Take a look.

Yep, I did see that. Brain fart. Thanks for the reminder!

I just wanted to be sure that my understanding of us having two projects going at the same time was correct.

All I was looking for was a yes or no, folks.

okieblu 05-05-2014 04:37 PM

AFTER the next 2 projects are past, it would be really cool to do one with the matchbooks. Possibly wearable art? snikker-my area. No, I dont think I need to wrangle one yet, I've only done one so far, and I was a couple days past deadline on that one. So, I gladly toss this idea out into the aether, hoping someone picks it up to wrangle.

So, Besame's project is up next, then maybe Tommi can wrangle matchboxes, then Okieblu can wrangle wearable art? I'm in for it all!

I didn't think Besames project is up next, no decision has been made.

Stepfordfemmes project is a go and is due July 15 and sign ups are done.

Okieblue suggested a wearable art matchbook project, but understands that hey you (prefered pronoun) are not ready to wrangle a project. Tommi said he would be willing to wrangle Okieblues project idea. That would be after Stepfordfemmes project is done.

candy_coated_bitch 05-06-2014 12:13 PM

I would definitely love to see an altered matchbox project. Just to clarify--when ahk originally brought it up the idea it was for match boxes, not match books--which are two different things. It's a project we have both participated in several times in the past.

Anyway--the idea is to use one of the little match boxes where it is a box with the little drawer that slides out with the matches in there. You take the matches out, then both decorate the outside of the box and fill the inside with contents/little treasures. They are usually done around a theme, such as a color. So the outside would be decorated mostly green, for example, then filled with little green items. The match boxes are so awesome! It's like getting a mini treasure box.

So anyway, just wanted to volunteer the explanation of what they are. If Tommie wrangled, obviously he can suggest whatever theme or anything else he wants. Just seemed like no one had really heard of these before. I'd be very excited to do these again!!! Also, I like the idea of wearable art.

That would be great, Tommi! Match boxes as wearable art!

My idea was match boxes AS wearable art. And I think Tommi is going to go with that.
Though I wouldn't mind wrangling some other wearable art project, later down the line. Gotta think of something that is vaughly affordable though. And accessable to most of the group.

Looking forward to having a project due before the one in July! Since we are only making 1 puzzled themed project, I'll still have time for more creative endeavors.

New Project

NEW PROJECT!!!

yay! I've so enjoyed doing these art projects! I want to wrangle one. This will be easy! cheap! and quick! to do before the puzzle one ends. I will post a sign up Sunday Morning. I know it's Mother's Day, but I think this project can handle late comers. So are you ready? Did I get your attention??? Lol

Late Spring Happy Hearts!

Make 1 post card size, 4x6. Now this can be rectangle, circular, heart shaped, or what ever shape you want, but no bigger than 4x6.
Using ONLY FREE paint chip samples. The base can be of other material. Cut them up, punch holes, manipulate, or layer. What ever you want. Go raid Lowes, HomeDepot, cause you know you want to go there ;)

So there will be one made for each person who signs up plus an extra for Sis. I want to send a care package to her while she is close by. You need to have them finished by June 10. And in the mail by June 11th. This will give you 4 weeks. If you have any questions, please ask. I hope you sign up and have fun with this! (help me make my first wrangle a success :)

nanners 05-08-2014 07:04 PM

Besame, would you like us to include some $$ for postage? And after the sign up you'll send us all PM's with your address, correct?

I'm excited! I will be hitting Homo Depot tomorrow!

You'll do wonderful on your first wrangle!

Gemme 05-08-2014 07:53 PM

I'm confused. Is the sign up beginning now or Sunday morning for Besame's project?

okieblu 05-08-2014 10:28 PM

Anyplace that sells house paint, paint stores like Sherwin Williams, will have the free color paint chip cards. Walmart Super Center is one. Dont know about Target Super Centers.

I work 8am to 5pm Sunday. Corkey will sign me up!

nanners 05-10-2014 05:12 AM

Oops Gemme, I jumped the gun...I got a little too excited!

So, I walked into Menards (another store much like Homo Depot) and walked out with, oh....an inch and a half stack of paint chips...looking around and dodging any employees on the way out, feeling a bit like a criminal. :D:giggle:

nycfem 05-10-2014 09:06 AM

Hey, everyone,
Just an update on the half-inchie project. I am sending out everyone's later today. They are being sent in a regular envelope within a greeting card (for the hard backing). I used "removable double-sided-stick" tape to put each half-inchie in the cards.
Thanks for coming through! I can't believe I didn't lose any! They are so tiny :)
J

nycfem 05-10-2014 09:07 AM

Oh, and if you don't mind, please post on this thread or visitor message me when you receive your projects. It's always great to know they have been received. Whew :)

YAY!!! Thank you so much for wrangling. I couldn't believe how tiny the half inchies were, either. I was working on some inchies at the same time and they starting looking huge. That was bizarre. I can't wait to get them. :)

sorry guys I haven't updated in awhile, so I wanted to let you guys know that I still have the Halloween cards and will get them out soon. Too much has been going on lately, especially where lack of money is concerned, so they'll be sent out as soon as I am able to afford it

For those of you visiting and wondering what this "inchie" or "half inchie" is that we talk about...it's my new favorite thing. I'm hooked on Inchies!

Ok, sign up day has arrived!

Let me just add;
***Make a project for everyone who signs up plus one. So if 5 sign up, then make 6. And so on. Remember, I'm sending the one extra to Sis, just because! She will be close by and I can get it to her before she leaves.
***When the mail in date gets closer, I will PM an address to mail your completed project. Please add a few dollars to help with postage..or a surprise ;)
*** PLEASE NOTE MAIL IN DATE. This is a quick, 4 week turn around and it's cost effective.

4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
