i am listening to the sounds of my housemate bring the new orphaned foal home from the vet. he had to have a blood transfusion, poor baby, b/c his mother died. he didn't get any colostrum for her so had to get the necessary antibodies that way. he is a real little fighter, though. we have hopes he will make it!
also listening to the sound of the wind bring a very strong smell of smoke! this is worrisome, since this is wildfire season here. we have no way to get the livestock out, if a fire does come this way, and no fire insurance on the house. aiyah!
