It's only 55 degrees tonight, and I've got the windows wide open because it's perfect sleeping weather.

And..., I also figured out how to disable the heating unit, because although I never turned it on, it was coming on. Now the heat can't come on and that makes me happy. It's all about keeping the power bill as low as possible.

Cool refreshing air and no heat.

Color me happy ( :) ).

Talking with my mom about her flower gardens: which ones are dying off, which ones are coming in for the fall.

Giving my boss my two week notice...first thing

Apparently I had a huge grin on my face...but when i stood in front of her i tried not smiling so big. Her response when I said this is officially my two week notice was something like ..... except much bigger and with a little sound affect like I stopped someone dead in their tracks... heheheh loved it

Then some of my co-workers announced to me that they look forward to working the weekends because of the fact that I am there. (awe..aint they sweet!?!?!)

Scheer

Scheer, the Conservative leader, (who also holds dual Canadian-American citizenship), is a devout catholic, and was asked if he was a member of Opus Dei, the right-wing branch of the catholic church. He refused to answer, and talked about how he respected all religious groups... Back in 2005, Scheer spoke against gay marriage! (grumbles slightly towards Scheer) Well, a Canadian humorist from the comedy show "22 minutes", asked him: "Will you do the right thing?" ... i.e. for Canada... "Will you renounce your Canadian citizenship?” I smiled :)

Am presently watching a lot of CBC news 'cause of the upcoming election here in Canada; our official English-language debate happens today. In a way, it's a break from all the corruption news going on south of the border.

Acquaintances are voting for the Green Party. Unlike the States, we have quite a few parties in this election, the major being: Liberal (similar to Dems in the States - led by Trudeau), Conservatives (similar to the Republicans), NDP (social democracy - if Sanders was Canadian, he would most likely be PM of Canada from that party), Green Party, Bloc Québécois, People's Party of Canada. All the leaders of these parties will be in the debate).

I wish I was 50 years younger and could participate in the Extinction Rebellion protests going on across Canada today. Oh, well, smiling at the youthful energy of those protesters, while I am stuck inside recuperating from the flu. :)

Walking into physical therapy tonight exhausted from the day and seeing my natural healer standing there smiling at me. PT makes me so happy. My bicep tenden was hurting from using the computer mouse at work so he laid his hands on it and took the pain away.

:cowboy:

The surgeon disconnected my bicep tendon from the bone wrapped it around a screw and screwd it back into my bone. Yucky and very painful.

Orthopedic surgeons are generally pretty good sorts. Have known many from both sides, as a patient and a nurse. Surprised one did something that you feel unneeded, and they obviously felt was necessary.

Sorry that you had such a negative experience.

All the support from faculty regarding my placement for practicum and internship.... sigh. While I am completely feeling the pressure... it is a really awesome opportunity. It will mean a huge pay raise...more that most of the university teachers with PhDs...but I have waited long enough..

So, as student teachers we need several faculty to observe us. I recently asked one of out new Educational Psychology teachers to review me.

The day she came in the topic was conditioning. Actually, it was the second half to it....operant conditioning. I needed a class activity to drive it home and i say it in a video the night before. (Big bang theory when sheldon starts to condition penny with chocolate)

I wanted to ensure I had an engaged class..so I began asking small questions and whoever answered would automatically get a piece of candy whether the answer was right or wrong.. I was conditioning for responsive students. The poor teacher did not know WHAT was going on...

After the 5th slide in to the lecture one of my front row students blurt out....were you just conditioning us? hahah they are smart as whips they are...

The class continues.. the teacher observer looks all confused about the class so later in the week I make it a point to touch base with her for fear of a bad review.. Once i told her it was an activity to get them to remember about conditioning and operant conditioning...she laughed her a$$ off and used my story to talk about GTA's on a later "tour for new students" who all laughed as well.

shrugs.. sorry students... not sorry.. because it made you remember about operant conditioning! HAHAHAHAHA

I sanded and painted a garage door today. The smiles came when my nephew wanted to help. He got very serious when I let him use the sander. He looked like a professional (butt crack and all). :)

What made me smile today? My sister sent a video from their home security system of bears around her house!! At only 8:30 p.m.!! I was there just a few weeks ago in the hot tub, right there, right where a mama bear and her three babies lumbered by, sniffing everything. Smiling and shrieking nervously, does that count? And I smiled at something a friend said on the phone. She makes me not just smile but laugh.

Yesterday. My natural healer (physical therapist) took my shoulder pain away long enough for me to raise my arm 190 degrees which is the full reach. I smiled through the pain and he just smiled and clapped. Trust me raising my arm is very painful so this was a big deal.

Yesterday was Big Sister day at work. Some of the adult women are big sisters to some girls and young ladies in the city where we work. They meet here once a month (I think) and work on their projects, meet for lunch, take photos, team building exercises, whatever. Yesterday they met in a conference room next to where I sit. The big and little sisters can be a rowdy bunch—rowdy with laughter and giggles most times.

Anyway, when I returned from lunch there was a note on my desk that read, If we are too loud next door, just come in and slap us!

The note was from one of my buddies and it made me smile.

They were loud, but it was nice.
