This past weekend we went up to Meadows of Dan for the VA State Peach Festival. A very sweet little fest with local crafts and locally grown peaches/ apples/ etc. Bought a couple little things and took the old boy Max along for the drive. The ride back down the mountain we came via Rte 8 and drove through Floyd. An odd hamlet occupied with a mixture of older hippies, artisans and mountain folk. I am going to start taking my vehicles to a shop up there which is " the home of the hateful mechanic". Sounds like my kinda fixit guy.

This coming weekend is the annual Labor Day Flea Market in Hillsville, VA. The entire city/ town becomes a flea market! They expect upwards of 500,000 folks showing up! Dear God, I know I will lose the girl. Thinking we may get a hotel so we can do both days, and so I can go hide when it becomes overwhelming!
Here's to life in small town USA!

around here, they call it Junk-A-Palooza

Spent most of the weekend cleaning up after the hurricane. :(
We were kind of hoping to come back from vacation to a quiet and relaxing weekend, but then Irene decided to visit NJ.

I'm off today and have a ton of errands and whatnot to run, but just can't seem to get finished getting ready and leave the comfort of my computer and swivel chair.

Tomorrow after work, we're headed to a holiday get together with the NE Austin folks.

Monday, Ebon works, so it's an early day for us, but I'll be napping and off, so it's all good.

Tuesday, it's back to the grind for us.

sweetfemme247 09-03-2011 09:53 AM

Well WT took off yesterday and I worked she dropped me off at work. After my last patient left at 530 she was on her way to get me.Picked me up from work and had BBQ then the long drive to Riesel by Waco . We got up here in the country on 50 acres and large 3 bedroom house of our friends(WT's ex fiance and his wife) about 1130pm. We watched TV (i fell asleep in the recliner) till about 2am and we hit the sack. Woke up at 910and watched grilling on tv and then came out and fixed breakfast for all of us. now WT is napping ,im here terry is on her computer and Korwin is watching Ghost Writer. Later WT and Terry will go in to Waco and hit Starbucks and Korwin and I will nap LOL. We might go swimming in the pool when the sun goes down as they also have a nice pool and hot tub.
Our other house in the country, love it

Moving into a different apartment

Temporary space - I plan on moving into a perm space the first of the year.

Mama needs her privacy ;)

I learnt something new

I drove 14 hours straight to get home so I could have two days to recover from a week retreat in the old growth forests of the west coast. I learnt that after that many hours of straight driving I slowly lose my ability to corner very well. Thank goodness I was out of the mountains BEFORE that fatigue hit.

Spent the weekend with 40,000 of my closest friends.. most of whom actually did shower it seems - at DragonCon here in Atlanta.

Didn't sleep much, did a lot of walking, spent too much money.

Saw quite a few celebrities - talked to like minded adults about shows we love and hold dear to us.

Hmmmm that bout sums it up. Took today as a recoup day.

paintedleofemme 09-06-2011 12:49 PM

Had a bar-b-q Friday night, then I was a bum all weekend!

This past weekend

I shoped for two beautiful area rugs and a set of bathroom rugs. I bought a nice pair of jeans and a miss hello kitty dress for my granddaughter. On Sunday afternoon my son took me to Cracker Barrel for a late lunch and after I hosted a Buddhist prayer pot luck meeting in my home. It was a very encouraging warm meeting. I enjoyed my weekend very much !!
