Hi Anya,
Have you seen Queen of the South? It's along the lines of Narcos but as told/experienced from a woman's point of view. I'm really digging that series alot!

Rocco- gazing into the void

I watched Rocco on Netflix, about an Italian porn star. I hadn't heard of him because he is a heterosexual performer in the genre that seems to feature a lot of "shoving his fingers down her throat until she cries or vomits" type of porn.

Sooo here's my very spoilery reveiw of it, so don't scroll down if you want to take it all in yourself. But me, it left me feeling sad and empty and I have to tell someone why.

It starts off with his dick and it's in Italian, so unless you speak Italian, be prepared to read subtitles and if you are a good little film buff, you won't mind that. He talks about being "attracted to the void" and "having a sexuality that doesn't exist".

He has been at this for about 30 years, so by now he's starring alongside women young enough to be his daughter and these young women are eager to become famous like him and are willing to endure anal sex and having his fingers shoved down their throats until they cry.

He talked about masturbating for the first time at the age of eight or nine and his mother seeing it and smiling at him because he was becoming a man.

He talked a lot about his mother. After she died, he was comforting her best friend, a woman near his mother's age and they were both crying and he was hugging her. He became aroused. He dropped his pants, put his dick in her mouth and came in about three seconds. She didn't say anything and he didn't either and he zipped up and left.

That part really bothered me. I couldn't stop thinking about her if and if she was ok. Because to me, that was rape. Was it to her? What was she thinking? "Here we go again? At my age?" Or "Hurray, I got to blow the Italian Stallion."

He's a family man too, with a wife and kids and they show them and how they react to what Dad does for a living. We see how they make the movies and people sit around and talk about how it is all fine because we are all consenting adults. Except for maybe that one time with his mom's friend.

But I can't stop thinking about the lady and wondering what happened to her and if she's ok. 'Member Turandot? Everybody is all happy and singing at the end when Calaif is marrying that murderous bitch Turandot and I'm sitting there screaming "Liu is dead, you asshole!" Because I guess I am just a wet blanket. God damn, people are awful.

Manhunt: Unabomber

Really good series on the hunt for the Unabomber and how it took 17 years to catch him.

One of the biggest reasons? His IQ is 167 and the big guys in charge of the FBI had very closed minds, clearly without a 167 IQ.

Forgot: it's on Netflix

I'm house sitting for my BFF, so I've almost nearly finished the first season (19+ episodes!) Of...... This Is Us!

Oh mY, I can't spoil it by telling you much, but OMG, Jack & Rebecca have triplets, except only two live, one dies, yet a mysterious event leads an African American Black man to drop off am infant baby at the local fire station.....And, Jack and Rebecca adopt him.

This saga is about their family relationships amid very turbulent social times of the 1960s. Bonus: the sound track takes you back to that specific period I'm time, and it's simply a great mini-series worth watching!

A good Australian police drama with Tom Wilkinson.

This Is Happening, movie on Amazon Prime

Two siblings, on a mission to put their grandmother in a retirement home, must find their runaway grandma.

I’ll watch anything with Cloris Leachman and she made this worth watching.

I think you'll like it if you like Wilkinson, homoe. Wilkinson's acting in this role kept reminding me of Jack Lemmon in Glengarry Glen Ross. I'll be interested to know what you think if you get a chance to watch it.

Coming to Netflix — Raising Dion (A super hero)

Nexflix has greenlit Raising Dion for a 10-episode, straight-to-series order. It is based on Dennis Liu's viral short film of the same name, which revolves around a mother who discovers her young son has multiple and constantly changing abilities.

I just finished watching "Disjointed" on Netflix. At first glance, I thought, "Oh this is just going to be a bunch of lame stoner jokes." But I watched it because Kathy Bates! I'm so glad I did. I laughed. my. butt. off. It was the kind of funny where I keep remembering individual jokes at odd moments.

Liam 10-10-2017 08:03 PM

I've started Elementary, I like this version of Holmes and Watson, and I've been a fan of Lucy Liu for a long time.
