It's currently 19 degrees but "feels like" 8 degrees. We are expecting snow. Tomorrow will be a bone chilling -25 degrees. The schools are all closed in preparation.
The upside...it will be 60 degrees on Monday! |
For those in the Midwest, hang in there! Stay home if you can and, if not, do not stay outside more than a couple minutes. Frostbite will set in within 5 minutes today and tomorrow.
:cold: |
We're in for a snow storm, late tonight. Temps will stay low all week, which makes me glad that I resisted taking off the studded snow tires early.
High (right now): 44 degrees. Tonight's low: 24 degrees. Low's all week: near the 20 degree mark. High's during the week: near 33 degrees. |
Studded snow tires???? We can't use those here unless we are going through the Rockies delivering transplant organs ... and even then you need the right paperwork and a team of Huskies.

69 and cloudy right now

25 degrees with high winds right now.
WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON ... Heavy snow into early Monday afternoon. Total accumulations of 5 to 10 inches before ending ...:nailbitin: Me no likey this! |

It's now reached a balmy 29 degrees with winds gusts but at least the snow has stopped...........:cold: |
It was in the mid-50s today. Sunshiney and bright. One more day and we're back to seasonal temps in the 30s again with some freezing rain. It's been a nice break in between everything.

77 and cloudy

With temps down in the 20's here in Eastern Washington we've only gotten about 2" of snow so far but people are saying 1-6 more by mid day tomorrow. So far I'm not seeing any signs of that, but better safe than sorry. There is a winter storm warning advisory in effect until around 10 tomorrow morning. My oldest stopped by yesterday with some easy convenience foods and today J and I made a run to the corner store today to pick up a few things. Since it was before the after work crowd rush, the snow starting to fall, no long lines or people elbowing each other out of the way to grab stuff. I try to keep enough staples on hand that I don't need to make a store run when bad weather is predicted. A trip to a corner grocery for a few fresh/luxury items to make the canned/shelf stable stuff a little less boring, work to prepare is nice but optional. I like looking outside and knowing if it's bad I don't have to go out in the cold. :cold: https://www.google.org/publicalerts/...ource=wweather |
Here's the thing: you can walk on snow but walking/driving on ice can be deadly; if you are older and you break a hip on the ice, it's pretty much the end of your life as you know it.
Temps well below zero are fine...just dress for it. Temps around Zero are treacherous if the temperature is fluctuating around that mark. |
Currently 23 with bright sunshine......expected high of 38 today...:hangloose:
|
73 cloudy with humidity of 93 %
|
..
26 degrees right now with an expected high of 39 today with partly sunny skies. Forecasting snow starting Friday around noon and continuing into Saturday morning! |
We are having really strange weather for way Northern NY near Canada. Rain...I can't believe it...temps to the 40s during the day then, of course, the rain freezes to ice. These people can drive through 2-3 feet of snow, but cannot do ice...not even on foot.
Anyway, where the hell did this warm front come from. It's Winter for crying out loud. It's going to melt the annual Winter Carnival Ice Palace. In fact, volunteers are making slush patches for it, and putting insulated covers on parts trying to prevent it from becoming a huge puddle. Ice storms are what I'm used to. Grew up with gorgeous ice storms and icicles. Deep snow drifts are not really walkable at my height. |
Winter Storm Warning..........
In effect until 4 p.m. Saturday! Right now no snow and 33 degrees!
Snow is to start around noon time or so they say..... |
It's hovering around freezing. Warm front coming through, from where I haven't a clue. More rain expected. The Ice Palace is in rough shape.
Warm front ~15 miles from Quebec Province?! We should be having a "Canadian clipper" system. Winter, please come back! |
Well yesterday it certainly looked like we were done with snow as the weather outside matched what the forecast indicated. However today instead of staying clear as predicted it snowed all morning, only letting up about a half hour ago. It's supposed to start picking up again around 7 tonight. Now the forecast is for another 4-6” over the next few days. :)

snow
It is snowing here !!! :| Ugh!!!
And, the cherry tree out the back is in bloom!!! And, I was planning to go out and feast !!! And, I have no boots !!! :

It did start to snow about 12:15 but other than that, the storm has not yet developed as they predicated.......... |

The longest continuous Winter Carnival has been saved. Parade today at 1300. We have front row seats from the balcony. |
...
It's already up to 31 degrees so there is a chance some of the snow melts later today! I wouldn't say we really got a full blown snowstorm but we did get a significant amount of snow! |
It's such a nice feeling sitting here at the computer, all chores out of the way, sipping hot chocolate and watching the snow fall. It's 24 degrees out at around 9:30AM. I'm washing some warm bedding and a fluffy robe pulled from storage, just to make sure Monte and I stay toasty warm in clean cozy comfort tonight should the power go out. Cell phone is charged. Flashlight extra batteries and NOAA radio at the ready - big stack of library books and crossword magazines piled up to keep me busy should things go suddenly dark. The prediction is for snow all but one of the next 9 days with temps in the 20's the entire time. Loving it!

Sunshine right now (noonish) and a temp of 33 which is helping to melt the snow! A forecast of 36 is the expected high today with continued sunshine..:hangloose: |
It's our turn Tuesday. We were scheduled for 3-5 inches of snow followed by sleet and then rain but it went down to 1-3 inches and now it's back up to 3-5 inches. Welcome to the NE weather rollercoaster. Wee!
|
Right now at 8 a.m. it's 29 degrees. A high of 36 is expected before day is over. They have covered all their bases by predicting snow, rain, or a mix of rain and snow........
I don't think they have a clue.... LOL |
Overcast, 12°F (-7°Celsius)
Humidity 73% Wind Speed NNE 6 MPH Barometer 29.93 in Dewpoint 12°F (-11°C) Visibility 10.0 mi Wind Chill 11°F (-12°C) Last Update 11 Feb 8:00 am PST These numbers are based on readings out by the airport, about an hour ago, so might be a minor degree differences one way or the other. I'd say despite shut downs it must only be bad on the outskirts. Crews seem to be doing a pretty good job of clearing the roads in town. Also my neighbor was out driving today and even with good tires she's always super cautious about driving in snow unless the roads are fairly cleared. It's not snowing now but forecast is for light snow showers in the afternoon then all out snow for a couple few hours tonight. |
Snow Snow Snow
Shocked face :|
There is a blizzard happening outside !!! They predict up to a foot of snow, eek !!! And I still don't own a pair of boots... Jeez I blame climate change, i.e. (all the rich capitalists who have ignored the dangers)... I have to blame someone, right? |
Here in the East, we still await this storm. The village we live in is at higher elevation than the surrounding areas so we'll get a little more. We're expecting a foot plus. Yeah!!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
|
68 cloudy 100% humidity
|
It's already 38 here with bright sunshine but from my window I can tell it's extremely windy out there!
Perhaps it's the residual effect of the storms that hit the Portland area. |
Snowing here in Eastern Washington. Crews are doing a good job keeping city roads clear but there is some pile up in outlying areas. That meant a four hour delay at work for my oldest. My youngest works in town so he's okay. I'm concerned about him though because he's so intent on getting a raise/promotion I can just see him canoeing in hell across a lake of fire to get the job done for the benefit of his lord and master – Harbor Freight. But he loves that job that I'd hate, and somebodies got to do it. So if he's happy, well there are certainly worse things he could be doing with his time and energy. That's for sure.
|
Well, I had to dodge a 90 gallon garbage can sliding across the highway tonight, so I'd say it's a bit windy.
 We also had a snow squall that I got caught in doing my property check earlier today. I do so love winter. :
Can't complain....
..
It's already 38 degrees here at 9 a.m. with bright sunshine! High expect of near 50 today and tomorrow! |
Partially cloudy today, with a high of 75* :hangloose:

25F. With snow accumulation. Very cold the remainder of the week. A thaw is suppose to arrive on the weekend with temperatures ranging between 35-55F for the remainder of March. The Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere will begin 4:58cst., March 20, 2019. (18 more days :))
|
It's a quarter to 8 in the morning and snowing, big, huge flakes. Sky is completely gray. Temp is somewhere between 27 and 29 degrees depending on which station you're listening too. The forecast was for freezing rain. Well maybe later cause that's not what I'm looking at right now. Anyhow it's so beautiful.
|
Wow just past eleven o'clock and it's still snowing. For a little while I thought it was going to either stop or turn into rain as predicted because the flakes had gotten very, very tiny, but not so far. In fact it's coming down even heavier than when it started, and it was falling pretty heavy then. The snowflakes are huge. Across the way two robins hopped up. I watched them out my picture window. They just hung out on the ground. I figured it must not be bothering them too much or they'd be on the neighbor's patio where it's covered or at least underneath one of the windows beneath an awning but no they just hung out, hopped around out there exposed for the longest while. I had to leave the window for a bit and when I went back they were gone so I'm assuming they're fine or at least it makes me feel better to think so. Usually here if snow surprises us it's because it comes early, around Halloween. This year though it's like a white Christmas but in the springtime. Shows just how much that groundhog is to be trusted - trickster.
P.S. Oh wow they're back and this time they've got a friend with them, and one of them was flying so they must be pretty happy there, cooling their jets, hanging out and just chilling. |
70 and cloudy kinda humid yuck
