The girls and I had dinner and drinks downtown.

We grabbed a Greek pizza from Asheville Brewing Company and I tried a new seasonal beer. I forget the name, but it was in the Shiva family.

We walked around downtown after and strangely enough found our way to my favorite ice cream shop. Shock and gasp! My youngest and I got some ice cream while my eldest denied her DNA and abstained...I secretly mock her...and not so secretly..

note to Gayandgray

since you like fried bologna, maybe try this ...

for 2 sandwiches ...
nuke about 4 slices bologna until almost crispy ... mash paper towels on front and back of bologna until all signs of grease is gone, toast 4 slices of bread for sandwichs - kind of dark and crispy ... spread mustard on one side of the 4 pieces of toasted bread, break up bologna to cover all real estate on 2 slices of bread, cut up a vidalia onion and slice thick, put onion on bologna, shakeout a lot of black pepper on top of onion, maybe a little salt, then close the top with piece of bread spread with mustard .... a friend of mine used to fix these for us after school in jr. high school ... I did not much like them to begin with but grew to love them ...the mustard and lots of black pepper make them somewhat spicy, plus, I love vidalia onions

An easy/lazy butch dinner; toasted torta roll schmeared with herbed chevre (garlic and chives) and kalamatas. Maybe a brewski.

Must be something in the air. I had a 6 inch wheat (they were out of honey oat....damnitalltoHell) sub with everything except onions and hot peppers and vinegar and chipotle Southwest sauce for a big pop of flavor. It was really good.

My kid made us French fries.

Jesse 05-19-2016 11:23 PM

I made an odd skillet concoction with leftover shredded chicken & polenta, hatch chiles, a couple of eggs, black pepper and a little grass fed butter. After the main part was heated, I made a hole in the center and plopped two eggs in and let them cook. It sounded crazy to me when my brain said, "hey let's cook ...", but it tasted really good when all was said and done.
