Most Houston peeps are under a severe thunderstorm/tornado warning until mid afternoon.
Be safe and watch for hail. I'm too south for the terrible activity but I definitely can see the skyline! I can hear the rumblings. |
weather
Another beautiful sunny day, cool and windy. Love this weather. Can't take the heat and humidity.
|
severe weather day
is this the new norm on sundays??? same thing last sunday dodged the bullet both times ... last sunday, it shifted north at the last minute today, it went south just before it was in our face at one point today, the squall line was so similar, I thought I was looking at last sunday's radar all good here :) |
Sitting outside reading today I took a little inadvertent nap.
:tanning: |
Rain in the Olympic Peninsula for the next several days...:rainsing:
|
~~
Temps for the next 3 days are forecast for high 70's and low 80's with maybe even a record high setting on Saturday or Sunday... |
You know when the wind is an angry wind and sounds like a cross between a banshee and a train whistle?
And your cats are freaked out because they know something is out there; they can hear it, but they can't see it? Yeah, that was today. Wind chill in the 30s. In May. Touche, Mother Nature. Touche. It also snapped the post my mailbox is drilled to and flung the whole thing in the driveway as well as tossing the recycling bin around. The bin was bungeed to the dumpster and was STILL bungeed but on its side and a couple feet away. Take away: bungees are useful and resilient lil buggers. High point: by the end of the day, my hair was big and fluffy enough to have been in a video for an 80s hair band. |

Breaking records
We broke a record by reaching 98F in my city yesterday and it's expected to be pretty hot again today.
|
A couple weeks ago we had what appears to be our last snow dusting for a few months. We are now up to 80s F max daytime. Still 40s-50s at night so sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets still abound. I can't wait for Fall to return!
|
Rain- weather
Real wind and rain storm last night. Thousands lost power but fortunately we did not. It is still very windy today (I love it) with off and on heavy showers. Its around 65 or 70F.
I love this kind of weather. Can't take the heat or humidity. |
The Isley Brothers - Sunshine (Go Away Today)
Rain and overcast in Southern Califonia.
|
It’s June gloom when it should be July fry.
Hopefully, the sun will break out in an hour or so. I expect it to be another lovely day in the neighborhood. |
"It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents — except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness."

At least I am polite to you, compliment you on your choice of music , and have never attacked you or assumed I knew what your problem was.
I thought the Lytton post was funny and appropriate, offended no one |
Oh goodness..
Too much is interfering with summer! It's too hot. Too humid. Too dusty. All that and wearing a mask! This is miserable. I'm enjoying my girly cave with a/c about now. |

Here's a link for last years winner, who is Canadian too. :) 2019 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest Winner (PAGE/LINK). Here's my weather contribution report: Strange winds and clouds of dust and horrifying news reports about COVID19 has blurred the weather vane, in my Pacific Wonderland location. Kätzchen has been wearing her mask, a different one each day, and she's been worried daily about her health. In other news, lol, rain and wind and scorching bouts of sunshine were supposed to happen repeatedly this last week, but worse bouts of weather came to pass. Since Kätzchen is boycotting the holiday weekend and creating her own holiday to celebrate, she is happy to report that the weather is just fine and will one day be even better (she hopes). :bunchflowers::bunchflowers::bunchflowers: |
Yes, the Annual contest collections (available in most bookstores ) make for hilarious bathroom reading.
Aside from that, the weather here is hot and muggy, as it seems to be in many places, but the night sky is full of the explosive colour of fireworks for the July 1, Canada Day, celebration. |
Weather
For past few days and the week to come weather is close and gross. Happy to be stuck in front of my tv and air conditioning. I don't need a virus to keep me home these days. YUK !
|
Sunny and 75 F.
Couldn’t be nicer. |
It looks beautiful outside my window but I won't be venturing out today so I'm happy and content listening to the rattle of the air conditioner and the very faint snoring of my chunky butt, Loki. It's about 76 inside and 84 outside.
|
Weather
In proper English its 93F here for the rest of the week.(damn C). Humidity adds to the torture. Home with air conditioning.
|
Its ugly hot. I saw 97° when I was out and about. Hardly any humidity,
slight breeze. But who likes an oven door opening breeze? And least we forget, the nasty dust storm haze! I'm back at the pool for my second set of splashes! |
July fry. It was sunny and warm when I opened the house at 6am.
It’s 93F and feels like it. |
It's so hot that I can't decide if it's more "real" in C or F and that's before you add the notorious "feels like" factor.
|
Hot and muggy again today and it's only 9:30 am. My AC has every right to complain.
|
Cool marine air + pearly skies, with intermittent sunshine.
High: 72 Low: 53 *beach weather* <<<<<~~~ purfect for my weekend getaway, this coming weekend. :hk22: |
Thank goodness it's raining! Woohoo!
|
a tiny rainstorm during pool party..i really loved seeing the raindrops bounce on the water..the rain was warm
|
We are having bands from Fay blow through. It is wicked breezy and she is sending us some rain which we badly need. Oh and thanks again Fay for sending Donald packing. :)
|
It has been very warm lately. Next week will be even warmer. It's only July and the leaves on trees are changing color rapidly, here.
High today: 90. Low tonight: 63. <<<<<<~~~ a/c is on. Bedtime is soon (by midnight). :moonstars: |
It's been in the 90's here, one day so high I thought we might actually break a hundred though we never did, close though. It's a dry heat so without the humidity it feels a lot cooler out than what it actually is. The shame of it is despite the good weather due to the pandemic no one can use the brand new sparkling pool, outdoor barbecue areas, other community features. I think it must be torture for the kids, home all day, looking out the windows, seeing all this perfect weather and not being able to use any of the play equipment.
|
It's been hotter'n Satan's balls here in central Texas. It was up around the century mark (100 F) for the past few days, but when you add the humidity, the "feels like" factor puts it up around 115 F.
I thought Nevada was hot, and it was, but the humidity here makes it truly miserable. I can hardly wait until the Fall arrives and we start getting "cold snaps". I have a long calf-length cowboy duster cloak with a felt Stetson western drover-style hat that I cannot wait to be able to wear this Fall. When Dear Wife and I lived in Nevada, I hardly ever even wore a jacket or a coat. It's nice to be able to wear those kinds of clothes again. I also enjoy holding my beautiful wife in my arms in bed on cold mornings. She's just irresistible!!!!:love1: ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
Doing a rain dance!
Hoping to turn possible thunder showers into a for sure thing! |
Close to 10PM and it's still 100 degrees out. Not sure how high it got today. Just my pepper plant is wilting while my tomato plant is thriving. I guess pepper plants are more picky and tomato plants a lot more hardy than I thought? Well what do I really know about container gardening outdoors. I do know for a fact birds, bees, a variety of things seem to be wholeheartedly enjoying themselves chopping on my plants. Yet despite looking an unsightly mess they continue to chug along, even bearing fruit. I didn't think there would be much of a problem here surrounded by orchards and vineyards spraying such a variety of chemicals around like they do. Well it is what I is and we're having a heat wave.
|
Warm days and cool nights
are signs of August weather: shorter days come soon. High today: upper 70's Low tonight: maybe 54. |
It was nice to wake to a heavy rain after a heat wave. The dew point went down over 10 degrees so the humidity will be more tolerable when I head outside. It will only get better as we go through the weekend.
|
Thunderstorm. Still 85*F outside at almost 9pm. It was in the nineties earlier today.
|
We reached a high of 105 today. It's close to 9PM, 95 degrees out and we're having a thunder and lightening storm at the moment. Monte is generally aloof and independent but times like these, he remembers he loves me.
