For my friend Milana, who is getting weaker and weaker as Stage 4 lung cancer courses through her life...For Germ warfare. A whole bunch of candles for this nasty headcold that has given me the miseries, more than a week off work and seems to get worse every morning. For the girl who is getting better from pneumonia slowly but surely.

I just heard Amy Winehouse (sp) was found dead in her London apartment. Suspected Heroine Overdose. I didn't follow her music, I can't even spell her name. I followed her struggles, for purely personal reasons. Hoping she would win. She did her last stint in rehab in May.

Lighting a candle for that damn disease.

Amy, I hope you find a better place.

To the victims of the massacre in Norway and to their families. Our entire country is standing by your side in the grieve. What can one say besides that, there are no words...

It is said you are never given more than you are able to handle.
This past year I beg to differ,,,
My uncle and his son my cousin died of lung cancer and pancreatic cancer on the same day on Labor day.
My dad passed away on April 20th of heart complications.
Now my room mate and best friend of over 18 years has just been diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer at 48 years old and is having his first chemo treatment in the hospital today.
My heart can not stand much more pain.
I just packed up all of my fathers hospice supplies only to see them all out again for my friend.
Please light a candle for him.

I haven't even been able to open this thread for a while... So many candles... So much fear for those I love... Cancer is a scary thing, and all to prominent among the group I hold dear right now. Radiation, chemo, complications. Everyday right now I make sure to touch base with 3 blessed souls who are struggling with all of this...
