Looking Democrats will maintain control of Senate. Wish we could retake Congress. But I don't see that happening.

I didn't know this:
President Barack Obama's victory in Paul Ryan's home state of Wisconsin and his easy win in Mitt Romney's base of Massachusetts means the 2012 Republican ticket is the first in four decades in which both members of a major party ticket lost at home. As The Huffington Post reported in September, the party running mates to lose their own states were Democrats George McGovern of South Dakota and Sargent Shriver of Maryland, who lost to Richard Nixon in 1972. The dual defeats may not bode well historically for the GOP ticket. President Woodrow Wilson, a former governor of New Jersey, and Vice President Thomas Marshall, a former governor of Indiana, both failed to hold their home states, yet prevailed nationally to win reelection. The year was 1916. Never before or since has a major party presidential ticket been elected when both candidates lost their home states. -- Andrea Stone |

A ballot measure in Florida that would have erased women's right to reproductive "privacy" from the state constitution was defeated on Tuesday by a margin of 56 percent to 44 percent, according to CNN.
The measure, put on the ballot by Republican state legislators, would have empowered the state to enforce abortion restrictions, such as mandatory ultrasound laws, and would have enabled state lawmakers to ban abortion altogether if Roe v. Wade is overturned. “We commend the voters of Florida for joining what has become a national movement to wholly reject these attacks on reproductive freedom and to demand stronger protections for reproductive rights,” Nancy Northup, president and CEO at the Center for Reproductive Rights, said in a statement. “By preserving women’s reproductive rights under the Florida state constitution, women and families will continue to have all options available to them so they can make the best health care decisions for their circumstances." -- Laura Bassett (I cannot wait until this is all over, so we can get back to dating, crushes and whoopie ;)) |

i've been saying that many of his antics made our side look much better. Also i believe, and it's sad, that people voted for Romney because they dislike Obama, and not because of the job he is doing. |
