Can we do something about not being able to see our reps and thanks for too long. If you get several in a day and dont check right away, (which I dont) then you may not get to see your comments. I like going back and smiling/laughing.

Thanks!

I'd like to request that site owners please step away for a few hours and get some damn sleep. Y'all must be bouncing off the walls.

The area where we throw switches and create the magic. ;)

Pay no attention to the admin behind the curtain. :curtain:

Can't imagine how y'all can keep going for so long, with so much to deal with!

Thank you for changing how many reps show!

Hope you can take a break now and get not just some sleep, but some time to think about something else... anything else!

Day got the Kool Aid guy smiley added, so the blame for your skeery encounter goes thataway.

I will admit that Mr. Kool Aid does look a bit peeved. Maybe someone offered him Crystal Light?

IrishGrrl 01-01-2010 11:02 PM

What does it look like when you cant choose it? Is it just not an option when you post (as in, the big "A" with the black line under it doesnt show up) or does it not respond when you click on it?

cara 01-11-2010 01:37 AM

Possibly stupid question: What does 'sticky' mean in regard to titles of forum topics?

Thanks!

cara

Sticky means it stays at the top in that forum. Its like "pinning" your notice :)

I lost some reps in the transition to the new zippy quick server.

Yup. That was something we couldn't recover no matter how hard we tried. Given everything if that is all we lost, then it's not too bad. At this point the really only serious issue is the inability to upload to the gallery (this is being worked on)

Me too. But as Linus said, if that's the worst of it - woo hoo.

NJFemmie 01-11-2010 10:25 AM

I'm getting a lot of these this morning:

The connection has timed out

The server at www.butchfemmeplanet.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Clear your cache. You may be pulling up the wrong IP/DNS.

I have my browser set to clear cache every time I exit it. But I did hit the clear cache button anyway.

I do to but I manually clear anyway. I'm weird that way. Not weird like :jack: but close. RUNNING

Seriously, if that doesn't work, you may need to flush your DNS on your pc (which is way easier than it sounds.) :)

NJFemmie 01-11-2010 11:58 AM

After investigating further - I think the issue lies with the network connection here at the office. I think the connection is "hi-cupping".

Sorry about that :)

Going to put my IT hat on now and "get 'er done".

This behavior is often the side effect of the DNS server not being fully up to date (can take 24-48 hours for the whole internet to fully propagate that info). If you want you can use the IP address to initially connect (just PM me)

Also, do a ping -a www.butchfemmeplanet.com to see how it resolves and possibly a traceroute. This can sometimes indicate where the problem is.

IrishGrrl 01-11-2010 04:56 PM

I just want to say.

Geeks turn me on.

That is all.

bye!

Just as an update.. I think I found (fingers crossed) what I need to fix the galleries and am hoping to have this resolved this evening.

Thanks for everyone's patience in the matter.

I got that message left and right over the weekend, but nothing now. All clear! :cheesy:

I WOULD like to issue a non-complaint though.

I've noticed tonight and the couple of times I've popped in this weekend, that my Thanks are actually going through now! Before, I would click it and half the time, it would go through and the other half, it would take my thanks, tally it to my total, but not show it under that person's post. And, of course, once I clicked Thanks, I could not privately rep that person the times that it didn't go through. So, thank you for that NOT happening now.

:nixon:

Oooopsie! Edited to ask about getting kicked out even though I'm actively posting. Being timed out, I understand. But I posted and went to click on another email link and I had to log back in. Is this one of those silly kinks that will work itself out or should I do something to help fix it?

Affirmative!

The first time it happened, I thought 'okay, no biggie'.
The second time it happened, I thought 'maybe it's me'.
Now that it's happened three times, I know it's personal.

Nope, but I never do. I work on public and/or shared computers and I've never had it do this before. I'm assuming it will work itself out.

I'm not super stressed about it but if it continues over the next few days, I'll let you know again. :)

nope. all my options were visible but if i highlighted something and then clicked, for instance, font size or style, the highlight disappeared and nothing popped up in the drop down menu...a problem that seems to have resolved itself! must have been ME!!!

Yeah.....I do that sometimes. I thought it was like the other place where you could change the color and it would show it as you type. Guess not.

Thank you.
