Ya know... I don't even know. I'll have to look next time! How it compares to what?

Today I took a 2.5 hour walk in Central Park with a femme friend. It was loads of fun!

I don't work out on Sunday but I can say the past week has been pretty good. The temp has been in the high 80's then just humid enough to really work up a good sweat and be able to keep the burn going without having a wipe out when I am done, it took a while to find the right balance of food before and after a workout to do this.

I missed this but am glad that nyc brought it back to light.

Yes, the stair master has an option to count steps. You just have to set it if it allows it or keep an eye on the board as many will rotate measurement options during your workout.

Good workout this morning.

I had a nice chat with one of my favorite gym acquaintances and that set me off on a good tone for the workout.

E20, random program, level 4
Stats: 277 cal, 2.68 mi, 30:00 min

I followed that up with a half hour lower body workout and quick light ab work, ending with stretching.

nycfem 06-14-2015 08:00 PM

I walked and stair climbed for several hours in the park both yesterday and today, including (only today) doing 15 sets of up/down the St Clair stairs (176 stair steps per set), totaling 2640 stair steps.

That's why I wondered about the stair count on the machine! To see if your outside workout was more or less than indoors. I would think it would be more fun, but I'm wired that way, going further outdoors everytime.

I forgot to post yesterday's workout.

I started with the elliptical and moved onto upper body conditioning, a smidge of ab work and then my stretching.

It was hot and kinda miserable in the gym and it was only 7-8:30am.

I really wish they'd redo their ventilation. They have enough air blowing but the vents are not in line with most of the equipment so you only feel it when you walk through patches of cool air.

Haven't checked in for a while. Life has been busy. Still trying to get workouts in when I can.

Today I swam 1000 yds. It wasn't as much as I normally like to do. But it felt good to be in the water, and I figure it was better than nothing.

I slept in a bit today as I have the day off.

Lower body weight training followed by abs and stretching.

Basically, the ushz.

I'm still keeping up with my weightlifting. Things are going great overall. Yesterday I went up in weight on most things. The only thing is I kind of hurt my left arm on Friday, and it still hurt a bit yesterday- mostly when doing bicep curls. It hurts along the bone from wrist to elbow. It didn't feel like I was pulling anything so I did all my sets. So calm down left arm, I don't want to be out of commission!

It's raining sooooooo good but I made myself get up and go to the gym. I'm glad I did but man, did it feel good to lounge in bed for a while as the rain beat a staccato rhythm on the roof and downspouts.

I decided to make a deal with myself. If I go, I would only do cardio and it would be a nice, easy workout. When I got there, I decided to crank it up a bit though.

E21, random program, level 4 (this is the taking it easy part)
Stats: 166 cal, 1.61 mi, 18:00 min (this is the cranking it up part)

B6, manual program, level 4 (easy)
Stats: 101 cal, 3.89 mi, 18:00 min (cranking)

Another 10 minutes spent stretching it out and trying not to fall asleep on the mat in the back as I was only one back there and it was absolutely delicious to have me time in a public place.

Well, I've been off the wagon for the last 6 weeks due to travel etc..

Now I'm home for a bit and need to get back into a routine. I have been getting my river walks in when in town, but now I need to get at least into cardio 4-5x per week in addition to that. Pants are tight.

Starts tomorrow since today I have to do all the running around to get set back up here, but I know it's going to feel good to get back into it. I think I'll switch away from watching the tvs though, I've gotten into the audiobook habit with long drives and am enjoying it, also better for the brain.

Went to the gym after work.

Spent about 30 minutes doing upper body work. I increased my weights a little this week and am focusing on strengthening my right shoulder. I've noticed that it's been bothering me after my swims this last couple weeks.

Then I did 20 minutes on the elliptical. I wanted to get a little cardio in, even though my big cardio days are Mon, Wed, Fri.

cinnamongrrl 06-23-2015 06:39 PM

I started the day with yoga before work

Then cleaned two houses for a total of 5.5 hours.

Now, I'm contemplating doing a good workout from youtube or workout while I watch something on TV.... I'm sweating anyhow...might as well make it count :)

cinnamongrrl 06-24-2015 08:50 PM

I cleaned for 6 hours today

Came home and worked in the garden...which...involved moving a big cinder block which I plan to plant mint in...

Remembered I had bought Hip Hop abs like weeks ago...so I popped it in JUST to watch while I cleaned my house...and ended up doing the workout. It was SO FUN!

Then finally cleaned my house...yay

I had a really good workout this morning!

E21 and I hung out as usual. It felt hard this morning. I was short on sleep and the gym felt especially warm. Bleh.

E21, random program, level 5
Stats: 327 cal, 3.02 mi, 35:00 min

I moved on to do upper body training and gave it a good shot. I did 2 sets of 12 reps each at maximum or close to maximum weight and I used some machines that I haven't used before and I used machines that duplicated and/or mimicked my usual circuit training machines so my major muscle groups got double the workout and I felt it by the end. Shaky!

There was a moment where I was doing the circuit training and a guy jumped on the machine that I was just about to hit so I moved on to the machine just past him. Then, when I was done and about to move back to that machine (the last of the circuit), another guy comes from outside and makes a beeline for THAT machine. REALLY??? I guess I sighed loud enough for him to hear because he looked at me and asked if I was going to use that machine. I admitted that I was and he said 'no problem' really easy and relaxed and went to work on another machine outside of the circuit training room so I finished quickly, sprayed it down and went to go get the gentleman and let him know that I was done and thank you. He was such a surprise!

Most guys in my gym are all grunts and self-involvement. Plus when I jumped on the elliptical, the shoe screecher guy from last year was DIRECTLY behind me. Thankfully, my music covered his incessant throat clearing and hacking.

I finished up with a smidge of ab work and a good 10-12 minutes of stretching, paying special attention to my arms, shoulders and back.

Kelt 06-26-2015 04:30 PM

Does test riding half a dozen bicycles on blacktop when it's 102 degrees count?

It should. :bicycle:

Gemme 06-27-2015 10:54 AM

I got to go in late to work today so I was able to get a workout in this morning.

I jumped on the recumbent bike first.
Stats: 135 cal, 4.53 mi, 25:00 min

Then I moved on to doing lower body training and then about 8 minutes of stretching. It's hard for me to gauge exactly because the clock by the stretching area is broken. It keeps losing time and they won't replace it. Grrrr....

cinnamongrrl 06-27-2015 12:29 PM

I just got back from a wicked good hike on the Parkway....

It was almost entirely uphill...like reallyyyyyyy uphill.... and connected at one point with the Mountain to Sea trail...

Coming back was even harder. I have jello legs now... :|

I need to get some upper body work done to balance all the hiking out...but...right now I just need to rest a bit....lol

Peeks in

Went on a walk this morning, cleaned house and ran errands. Learning just how much I can handle and trying to find things I can do low impact. I am just getting back on the wagon after a month hiatus. Tho I have only been really exercising This year. I have a long journey ahead. Looking forward to a healthy me!
