Waking up on OUR Island next to my Beloved...hys gentle yet powerful energy making me feel loved and protected...holding hands, snuggling, spooning in our sleep...good morning kisses...inhaling hys delicious scent...pondering what Island adventure this day shall bring...savoring every moment we are together...ahhhh, life is soooo good!:hk23:

Spending a festival day with my girl and her shadow, the General! I really found that someone that enjoys what I enjoy... Heaven on earth, I tell ya! :heartbeat:

My daughter calling to say they were coming into the city today and asking me to have dinner with them. I got to spend time with my beautiful granddaughter and her parents. It was really needed today.

An evening out for a meeting, but with friends. It was a pleasant end to the day. All day I cooked for a meal with the kids tomorrow. I made scalloped potatoes with ham, baked corn, apple pies, and applesauce. Tomorrow I will bake 2 ham loaves and make broccoli with cheese sauce.

Oh and another joy for me today was knowing that others think of me as I think of them. That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Ugh. I am a Big ole teddy bear at heart. LOL!

Seeing there is bacon in the fridge! Yey!
But I am not cooking it - I don't want to be kitchen ho today

Waking up with my nose not all stuffy.

What brought me joy today....

Hearing that Spritz had gone back to the Folk Festival today and ended up bumping into my daughter and her little family (grandson, granddaughter and son-in-law) and that my daughter made the initial approach to extend a hug to Spritz.

This is a lot for my daughter to do. She's not quick to give away affection. So this was a heart-swelling joy moment to hear!! Wow!! And yay!! :)

My daughter, after much worry, stress and prayer got a job today AND got herself enrolled in nursing school!

My other daughter called me from her class! She was so tickled to be in school she had to call her mama and share...sniff sniff...

Wasn't but a bit ago I was praying their lives would right themselves and look at this!

Prayers answered and then some!

Miracles really do happen!!!!!

I'm filled to overflowing with joy!

Finding a lovely note in my lunchbox... even though she is away for work... pre-planned thoughtfulness... awwwwwwwwwww

My daughter just asked me for a picture to take to school. I asked her what for and she told me it's for a 'hero project' and then said, "You're my hero, Mommy." OMG....words can never describe how it feels when a kid says that to you. Pure joy is close though.

I will add that she asked for me to be wearing appropriate clothing in it. ;)

Still joy.

She also said that she wouldn't have to do research by picking me.

Hmmm. Tainted joy. :P

Super sweet text messages from my love. She knows I am sick and even though she is out of town for the day, she makes sure I know she is thinking of me. Super Love!

My wife is home ... and life is lovely.

now I know what Silvie has meant all along about being present for eachother..
if it's a friend caring for me while I suffered through a migraine again ...
or the friend that lives three hours away, always here for me to brighten my day and make plans together, supporting the decisions I'm faced with and never making me feel less than...feeling our friendship grow stronger every day and taking every moment possible to be present for eachother...
it's those kind of dignified, respectful bonds that get me through tough days... amd make me smile every evening when I'm told "I enjoyed spending the evening with you."...


it's the simple things in life that bring me joy

One of my neighbours was on his way out when I came back from walking Mdm Puppydog. He was concerned about my washing being out in the heavy rain and wanted to push it in further in the balcony but was worried that I would misunderstand. I explained that I was trying to drown ticks and he said that if I have washing out and it's raining that he'll jump over and push my washing in under the eaves. :)

The balconies are big concrete things and he won't be risking anything by jumping over - actually more like swinging his leg over.

I love my nieghbours they are so lovely!

I've had food given to me by a neighbour on the other side a couple of times. :D I'm always up for free yummy food.

Sunflower Sutra
 

One of my students brought me a sunflower bloom that toppled over in her garden...it was bigger than my head...It is now gracing the watering can in my kitchen because it was the only vessel that didn't topple over with the weight of the bloom...

I plan to keep it going as long as I can, and then I will dry it and save the seeds to plant next year.

This student is one of those rare people that you aren't too sure about but end up adoring...and this loud, brash flower is a clear example of her personality.

I brought this gorgeous flower home like it was some sort of rare prize. My whole family oohed and ahhhed over its splendor. She had no idea what this particular flower means to me, so I told her that this weekend she needs to "google" my favorite poem, Sunflower Sutra...I am guessing that of all of my students in this class, she is the one that is funky enough to get that poem.

Loseing another pound,I have lost 7 pounds over the last month,being pain free as possable for this first time in years is something I cherrish big time.

Everything coming together for this weekend!
