My sweetie made us grilled cheese and fries...she had tomato soup with her sandwich...it was simple and delish! :)

Tacos made with ground turkey (yep, hard & soft ones...right from a box!) with all the lettuce, tomato & avacado slices they will hold. with fresh fruit for dessert ~ cherries, cantalope, honeydew melon, pineapples & grapes. |

Today is Pete's birthday, and we are having a special meal out.

Last night: grilled NY steak with fresh tarragon butter, mashed potato/zucchini dish with just a dollop of cream and minced garlic scapes fresh from the green market, glass of Pinot Noir, and sliced white peach dressed with homemade Cassis liqueur for dessert, eaten on the deck.

the hummus I made for the birthday visit...I froze several containers and it was just as good as before it was frozen...so much so that I am defrosting the other container :)...with carrots and amazing organic cherry tomato mix and part of a pita and some pita chips...I like meals where there are things to do and each mouthful can be different from the last...
this particular meals requires no utensils so that anyone who prefers not to use them, or to whom it's a new skill, can enjoy it as well... |
