It sounds like the majority is okay with sending a package to ahk. I appreciate those that sent an extra buck or two with their projects. I'll use those funds to do so. I work the next couple of days but will try to sneak to the post office beforehand and mail the goodies out, otherwise they will go out first thing Wednesday morning. If you want me to send the packages to a different address than the return address, please let me know.

I'm excited about nycfem's PostSecret project and can't wait for details!!! I spent a few minutes looking at the new cards (new on Sundays) this morning.

nycfem 11-08-2015 10:25 AM

Let's go at it again!

Info:

Send me a package with all the postcards, and I'll send you one back with postcards from each person participating. 5 dollars shipping. Please send me your package without any confirmation or need for signature. It's more likely to get lost at the nyc post office while it waits for me to come sign it than it is to just reach me without all that. To determine the number of postsecret postcards to make, subtract one (yourself) and you will know how many cards to make. You can make all the same postcard or all different ones. Secrets can be anonymous or you can sign your name, and you can let me decide who gets what or you can specify by writing it on the reverse side of the postcard (e.g. To: ahk From: Bleu -- or just From: Bleu or just To: ahk). All secrets must be kept secret and sacred, because while some go for light or not personal; some use it for catharsis. Postcards do not have to be 4x6, just reasonably sized. If you want to specify a "from" or a "to" (reminder: you can leave blank if you want, and I'll decide and you'll be anonymous), but you used both sides of your postcard for the project then just put it in a ziploc type baggie and stick a label on it or write on the baggie with permanent marker. For examples of postsecret, go to http://www.postsecret.com or do a google image search for "post secret" or "postsecret"

"For 2015, the rule is if one of us is more than a week late or drops out of a project for whatever reason, that person is welcome to continue posting but is not allowed to sign up for a group project again until January 1st, 2016. No exceptions. This rule applies to participants and to wranglers. This rule must be posted at the bottom of all new projects that are being wrangled so that members can thoughtfully consider whether we wish to commit to a new project."

The post office is closed tomorrow so I dropped the packages off early this morning. Those with envelopes need to be VERY careful opening their packages. They are packed extremely tight. Some of y'all pushed the size barrier! lol

With the exception of Breathless and Surferboi, everyone should have their packages by Friday at the latest.

Thanks for the thanks, y'all. I really enjoyed seeing everyone's vision of a triptych and there is a LOT of creativity in the group. Some really thought outside of the box, which was awesome.

I'm so happy Orema has finally joined us. Yay for Jennifer's project!

Then I couldn't figure out who had done that one:|
It finally occured to me to look in the envelope :|

HEY!!!!!!! Hold off on the SPOILERS.. some of us living in other countries and have to WAIT to see them.. :( I am hearing how wonderful they are.. but I just have to wait.... did I mention I am not very patient when it comes to waiting for things .. like this.. .. Come on Mr. Postman.. bring me my package!!! lol

Breathless 11-18-2015 05:13 AM

we have received our package, and wow.. Great work everyone.. So neat!
Cara.. We think we might have it figured out... Surferboi says daisy chain, and chain mail, and I think that it is daisy chain love letter chain mail..
So daisy-->chain--->letter--->chain--->mail? Are we close?

That's better than what I came up with, which is bupkiss. How does the love part of it fit in?

In more serious news, I hope you are okay after the storms, cara! 1 million are without power and there have been at least 3 fatalities.

Breathless 11-18-2015 12:47 PM

its a love note.. I don't know, I might be way off

cara 11-19-2015 07:21 PM

Excellent guesses! The tie-in was between the daisy and the "love always wins!" statement. It was kind of a play on the old game where you pull a petal from a daisy saying, alternately, "loves me. Loves me not." 🌼

The little note in the envelope served two purposes: to let you know who made the card and to let you know you're loved. ❤️

Thanks for your concern, friend. It was a very big windstorm! We did not lose our power, but my parents and brother's family did. We've had so much rain lately that all the rivers are overflowing: a fairly typical autumn for the PNW.
