“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.” - Peace Pilgrim (American Teacher and Spiritual leader and Peace Prophet, 1908-1981)

Study yourself. Find your strong points and make them stronger
as well as your weak ones and strengthen them. Study yourself
carefully and you will see yourself as you really are.

Only by much searching and mining, are gold and diamonds obtained, and people
can find every truth connected with their beings, if they will dig deep into the mine
of their souls; and that they are the makers of their character, the molders of their
lives, and the builders of their own destinies, they may unerringly prove, if they will
watch, control, and alter their thoughts, tracing their effects upon themselves, upon
others, and upon their lives and circumstances, linking cause and effect by patient
practice and investigation, and utilizing their every experience, even to the most
trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of themselves
which is Understanding, Wisdom, Power.

Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.

Most true happiness comes from one's inner life, from the
disposition of the mind and soul. Admittedly, a good inner life
is difficult to achieve, especially in these trying times. It
takes reflection and contemplation and self-discipline.
William L. Shirer

Reflection must be reserved for solitary hours; whenever she was alone,
she gave way to it as the greatest relief; and not a day went by without a solitary
walk, in which she might indulge in all the delight of unpleasant recollections.

Jane Austen

The real man smiles in trouble,
gathers strength from distress,
and grows brave by reflection.

“Sleep is perverse as human nature, Sleep is perverse as a legislature, Sleep is as forward as hives or goiters, And where it is least desired, it loiters.”

A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight,
and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.

"I like the the look of frogs, and their outlook, and especially the way they get together in wet places on warm nights and sing about sex."

"Is your caravan lost? It is if you no longer weep from gratitude or happiness, or weep from being cut deep with awareness of the extraordinary beauty that emanates from the most simple act and common object." - Hafiz

The Summer Day
by Mary Oliver

Who made this world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
The grasshopper, I mean
the one who has flung herself out of the grass
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what do you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Vince Larkin [John Cusack]: "The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by observing its prisoners." Dostevsky said that... after doin' a little time.
Duncan Malloy [Colm Meaney]: "Fuck you!" Cyrus Grissom said that after putting a bullet in my agent's head, okay?

Define irony. Bunch of idiots dancing on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash.

~ Garland Green ~ [Steve Buscemi ] - Con Air
