The best puppy dog in THE WHOLE WORLD and the best little brother in THE WHOLE WORLD visiting. And the beautiful day it was eventhough i had to work. It was beautiful outside today and i got to enjoy some of it. And all the birds i saw and heard. And all the vinyl i scored for my little bro...abba and kc and sunshine band and sinatra...so many. Awesome.

Friendships, old and new: meeting some folks last night (from BFP!) who are now new friends, and reconnecting today with two friends I haven't seen in several years, who I've known for 24 and 28 years.

Not only did I have a wonderful conversation with my brother about his good news and he sent me pictures of my beautiful nieces, told me about my little tomboy who wrestled against boys and won her last 5 matches then went on to semi-state and wants to play football next year but is now a cheerleader of the same high school my mom graduated from... I got invited to his wedding next year and told I have a new little niece!!
I didn't get to watch my brother grow up, but I sure love being a part of his family now. My heart couldn't be more happy!! and my face hurts from smiling so much at their pictures! |

Joy Today
My daughter just recently lost her job, and I knew she wasn't going to be able to pay her cell phone bill, so I told her I would make a trade with her, she could clean the house and I would pay her cell bill.
She cleaned it - half the house one day and the rest of the house yesterday - I tried to call her when I got home to tell her what a fabulous job she had done, but couldn't get her, so first thing this morning I woke up, gave her a and told her thank you and she asked me, "Mom, did you check your bedroom closet." And I hadn't, so I opened the door - she had completely reorganized all my clothes, matching all colors, blouses, dresses, skirts, and pants, long sleeves to short - It was soooooo cool!! I laughed and she laughed and we shared a moment of pure sweet joy with one another. I love her!!! |

Shutting down my work computer! Enjoying the commute on the Blue Ridge Pkwy with all the colors...breathtaking.....a chiroprctor appointment...ahhhh...& now relaxing & reading posts...till something else comes up that I want to do....& planning my weekend YAY...a full one with friends, & good times, & a festival, & breakfast with friends, & tmr night going out to hear my friend's band play...yep....that's ALL bringing me joy....Happy Friday to ALL !!!!!

It's only 10:15 in the morning but already I have had much joy. I've been in my apartment a week today, and this morning I'm sitting on the balcony having coffee and watching the neighborhood wake up. My left arm is hot from the sun. A white, English bull terrier is sniffing the plants on the balcony next to mine.

My son and I went to pick up some pumpkins and haybales. When we got home we started decorating for Halloween....it was just a simply wonderful day!

Having the next shift supervisor come on with NOTHING left to do or prep. He was thrilled and said this was the first time this had ever happened.
It was also the first time he had come in after me. :D It brings me joy to do a job well done! |

my daughter & i decided this evening that we're going to get a pumpkin and carve it.. i am off Halloween night, and so we'll hand out goodies to the trick o' treaters this year, which feels exciting to me. i am usually working Halloween nights so that co-workers with young children can have it off to take their children out.. So sitting on the front step, with Halloween goodies, our mittens and hoodies on, decorations up, jack o' lantern lit & admiring the creative, cute costumes and.....well, time with my 16 year old daughter who has been making some not so good choices in her life. i worry about her, a lot.. And her wanting to do this with me, excites me.. This is the very reason i don't give up on her, she knows everything right now, and is stubborn, tests my patience and i'm certain is trying to turn me grey - but she wants to spend time with her momma.. That's gold right there ♥ |

What brought me joy today was the first day after the tooth was yanked so no pain! Secondly, I went to work to find the lights out, doors locked...four employees to oversee the operations today. Really wasn't too bad though. A quiet day teaching the new guy the layout in the charts and how to audit charts before the cases are closed. This afternoon felt like a nap. Wow. Easy day for first day back. Now tomorrow I go to my other internship site. There is a Career Fair so I am excited to go watch the day unfold! So I shared not only today's joy and excitement but what will be my joy tomorrow. Is that cheating? LOL!

Reading & writing some posts on BFP & knowing that I can <hopefully> finally get caught up on a few of these inspection reports.....
