...What Do I Enjoy...
Seeing some friends tonight for the first time in over 10 years. A pantry full of healthy food. Poetry that shifts my entire paradigm. Linen clothing. Classical music that reaches into my soul and covers it in a warm cloak of beauty. Seeing friends be successful in their relationships and their business endeavors. Daydreaming. Bamboo filled/rayon 500 thread count sheets. My cats that always use the litter box and don't 'go' elsewhere even when they are angry that I have been gone too long during the day. When I come in and close the door to my apartment and breathe in the peace that is my refuge from this crazy world. Letting my emotions flow when I hear music that moves me. Having healthy eyesight to see the sunrise, the sunset, people and life. |
I love a good day at the beach, the smell of the salt air, the sound of the surf, and flying my fancy kite that needs real wind.
There is nothing like a beautiful sunset - so simple and so amazing. Fresh snow on trees and a clear blue sky. The moon can bring joy to my heart. Yeah, I'm hecka sappy - oh well. Opening up the throttle on a motorcycle early in the morning when nobody is on the highway. Paddling a canoe on a quiet lake. Blowing "raspberries" on a baby's belly. |

My garden
My yard coming alive with a rainbow of colors and that wonderful spring time smell in the air. The daily surprise of a new bud, a new flower in full bloom in my yard. My camera always at the ready for another natural beauty. This Calla Lilly blooming at my gate.

they park it under the sofa waiting for romaine, then run across tile toward the kitchen [following human feet, sound of fridge, & routine]. moo.moo likes to push a paper towel roll across the room, and toffee looks out the sliding glass doors [to do a head count?] on squirrely squirrels. every single day their company is enjoyed, and they make me happy. |

my staff (ok maybe only half of them).
antagonizing my family, my staff, Beasley's family, my friends and Beasley. wearing my "tickle my nipple" t-shirt. making my boss cuss. silence. gambling. dancing in our driveway. making an army out of gummy bears. putting a walkie talkie in our mailbox and shout at people as they walk by our house. thumb wrestling. taking pictures of my face and the body of our cat, put them together, and post signs saying "lost". |
Wow. What a day today...
Attended a beautiful musical program at the Beach Pavilion looking out over the Gulf of Mexico late today. Our church performed "Alleluias by the Sea." Once every four years the choir and orchestra present a compilation of broadway hits, patriotic songs, and spiritual music. The brown pelicans were swoopping above the crowd of about 600 people and the seagulls challenged their own voices with that of the choir. As the sun set on the horizon, the choir sang an old hymn, "How Great Thou Art." As I glanced over to look at my mother the sun had lowered to almost twilight...I thought...here is my beloved mother in her own twilight years...and she is still in this realm - at my side - loving me unconditionally. Yes, How Great Thou Art.

Knowing I will be "going home" tomorrow to spend time with someone very dear to me... I completely enjoyed gathering up some Southern Treats for special family members today...it was so fun driving to favorite Local places (supporting Local people) between North and South Carolina to get the things they asked for ...things they wouldn't normally get for themselves: (they can't get these treats where they live without importing them and things being less than fresh...) **Southern Locally Grown Paper Shell Pecans (Momma said she can't wait for fresh Pecans!) **Southern Locally Grown Wild Flower Dark Honey that I was told was bottled this morning! YUM! **FRESH Southern Grown Peanuts for Daddy!! **FRESH, sweet, ripe Southern Grown Cantaloupe for Daddy (his FAVORITE) **and some other fresh veggies that aren't ripe in their area yet.... my only regret is: not being able to take fresh HOME GROWN tomatoes...those were Momma's first and favorite request. ... my heart melted when she asked me ..."do you have any maters? This is the first year ever that I haven't been able to grow maters." I ENJOY spoiling people that are so dear to my heart. and I ENJOY supporting LOCAL people and LOCAL farmer's markets |
