WARM FEET!!! A kind, thoughtful suggestion from a friend: Foot Cozy Heated Slippers provide relief from tired, cold, or sore feet. Simply toss these one-size-fits-all slippers into the microwave and enjoy the comfort of an enveloping warmth combined with an aromatherapy blend of cinnamon, clove, and eucalyptus. [note to self: GOTTA GET ME SOME HEATED SLIPPERS!!] |

seeing my newfie girl completely covered in snow, after just a few minutes outside..she was loving it! She buried her snout into the drifts and tunneled...what she was looking for was beyond me but oh she was so precious!
she is getting a little (well, younger..he is 100 lbs bigger than her) brother in a month..his name is Dawson and he is a retired stud dog. Thinking about the two of them playing in the snow someday just tickles my heart |
Gallery Crawl in downtown Concord after work tonight...
:bellydancer: |
My daughters laughing at me when we went out to eat because I couldn't decide what I wanted (between fried chicken wings and breaded pork chops). When the waitress finally arrived, I ordered the veggie plate and my girls just howled at me going from one extreme to another. lol
Love love love my kiddos and am having a blast spending time with them and the grandbebbies!!! |
A really great phone call with my BFF BerryLicious tonight....:cracked: ... :2cents: ....:heartbeat:

My good friend, Mel cooked southern gullah— all day—for me today. We had:
grits covered with bacon gravy and jumbo shrimp; okra; eggplant fritters and strawberry cobbler for dessert. We drank a bottle of wine and a great time. Mel is southern born and bred and does consider/calls herself a "belle." She's my straight friend, and damn good to me. Love her to death. Tomorrow we're going to the mountains to pick up her puppy. |
Well, it's Friday of course!

News that someone important to me is feeling better and being discharged from the hospital tomorrow. I've been caring for her 5 dogs and 6 cats and let's face it - I'm no substitute for their mommy. They've started missing her terribly and pining.
Relief all around... :praying: |
having one of my neighbors stop her car, while I was walking my old dog, and being told that the neighbors had all been talking about me moving and they are so going to miss me and the old dog...
I have grown to love my neighbors...I will miss them too. :moonstars: |

What brought me joy...
FINALLY blue skies, with lots o' sunshine! Lunch with my mom today ~ and getting her to try Thai food for the first time. The man bringing me a half sweet/half unsweet tea from my favorite deli. Seeing the new baby calf at my job today... with wobbly legs & trying to chase her momma. |
Snow is in the forecast. In fact, we are expecting 3 inches tonight, and another 2 inches tomorrow. :whoop: I am used to the snow, shoveling, buying salt, and a ton of sand. 5 inches seems like a dusting compared to what we have been thru so far. This weekend it will be in the 50's. :golf: Go figure. :putting: :caddyshack: |
Christiane Amanpour. Yes, I am a geek.

The first day of My new job at a non-profit. The job I totally wanted out of all I interviewed for. Pure joy.

my dog got groomed today and we always walk thru petsmart (Where she gets groomed) afterwards so she can get tons of attention. Of course she also gets to pick out a toy and today she wanted a pretty blue squeaking monkey. She was sashaying up and down the aisles with the monkey in her mouth, pausing off and on to let people pet her. We had just stopped for a family of two adults, two young girls and three small dogs...very small dogs compared to my newfoundland. When we turned to go, one of the shy children who had hidden behind momma, hollered ...I turned around and she was pointing silently to the blue monkey on the floor. Story had dropped it. I smiled and motioned for her to get it..and this bashful child who obviously understood all too well the angst of forgetting a toy..snuk out from behind her momma and grabbed the toy and shyly approached my dog...my old girl nudged her hand and kissed it before she took the toy...
what a soft sweet memory I now have. When i am older and rocking more than I am walking, I will cover memories like this instead of watching Maury... |
once again, yay for small things...
1. an ice cold mountain dew 2. excedrin migraine is a miracle drug 3. taco bell! 4. getting unexpected money 5. 2 5 minute phone calls from a special someone, as I've said before, doesn't matter what she says, it still sounds like music. and 6. that beautiful red netflix envelope bringing me a great geeky documentary (behind the planet of the apes) |
