Lots to do to make this home newly accessible to my Mom.

Looks like I need to take another off. I'm getting at that. Lol

Groceries to be gathered
Draft a letter to my lawyer
And of course, what's a day off without laundry??

Conversations with my *new* friend. Did I mention she is cute and tall! Even better about 15 min away😉

Bèsame* 11-10-2022 10:52 AM

Not much today.

It's still mad raining with wind. I do believe this is more rain than the hurricane left last month. I canceled everything that I was going to do. I'm sitting here, still not dressed, catching up on The Amazing Race and crocheting. I'm almost finished with ball number 3! Only one more to go😊

A toasted gourmet cheese sandwich on sourdough is on my mind. Yum!

Bèsame*, I'm glad you're safe and comfy at home. I'm kinda jelly, I have way too much to do today.

- Order groceries. - COMPLETE
- Pick up prescription for Brittany at vet, and talk to vet about details of what exactly we have to do to un-giardia this house and all of her belongings and, most importantly, her.
- Pick up grocery order.
- Sign up for a new patient portal that's going to ask me way too many questions so I can message my doctor to find out if the boy and I should get tested for giardia. - COMPLETE
- Make an appointment with a different doctor.
- "Encourage" the boy to do his chores. - COMPLETE
- Go through 2 weeks worth of mail.
- change sheets and do laundry
- Contact my health insurance company to see why I can't log in to their web site. And then, remember why I needed to log in to their website in the first place.
- Call animal shelter about next phase of heartworm injections. (And perhaps raise some Cain about why they gave me a dog with heartworms, an ear infection and giardia.)

You will notice that playing around on BFP is not on this list, yet here I am.

A heart stress test is on the calendar today.

I completed one years ago on a treadmill but this one is a chemical test. Not sure what all it includes. I’ll know more when I arrive at the testing facility later this morning.

Have been fasting since yesterday and food is on the brain. Maybe I’ll go out for an omelette after the test is over.

Thank goodness the snow isn’t sticking to roads, yet, because I still have some driving issues. Nothing as bad as when I was on the left coast, but I’m still nervous especially on the highway when it’s snowing.

My doc isn’t too concerned about my heart since I ride a bike on most days, but he’s just being cautious because I had some unusual pain in my chest.

My day was busy and a little stressful. My mother had laser cateract surgery and had the follow ups but this last one something with blood vessel in eye bleeding so she has to go to a retina specialist tomorrow. Things seem so different now... For me I had cateract surgery at very young at and in the 80s wasn't so advanced like now. I didn't get a lens implant when I was a teen because back then the lens implants were not perfected yet. The laser took up a whole room and made loud popping noises too back then. The productive part of my day was painting old pavers to be used in garden.

Adding stuff.....Nowdays there is a specialist for every inch of your body too. My dad always says to me whoever called it the golden years is full of it...ha. It's golden for the doctors to make money. I suppose simpler times are long gone.....

Most of my day was spent in bed, as I was having a not very good day. Too sad to face the world.

I did get up in the evening because the boy requested that I help him with a baking project. He's been watching The Great British Baking show and now thinks he's a baker. He had an idea to turn one of his grandmother's cookie recipes and a can of cherry pie filling into a type of sheet cookie. It turns out I was mainly there for moral support as he didn't take any of my advice. As I predicted, he ending up with a sort of cobbler and not a sheet cookie. It was good anyway and we ate it with ice cream. Afterward, I was much cheered up.

I am glad food was good...In my younger days food was more of an artistic medium for me....like one time I made a snow femme with a handbag that was made from those sugared spiced candy and and handle was that thin shoestring licorice and I think I added candy red lips...lol. The cherries made me think of time back then that I thought I was being creative with banna bread and maraschino cherries.....I ended up with pink banana bread....so not one of my better creations. But I did find out mini Starburst yellow could be sculpted into a star which I used on cakepop tree I made.

All good feedback - the cherry banana bread is something I might have tried, now I will not. Good to know about moldable Starbursts, especially at this time of year. I haven't started my baking yet, but I will in a couple of weeks, and I can see this coming in handy. Thanks!

I think I'm going to try putting up my Christmas tree today. I'll see if that works, because I have a list of things to do on my day off. Lol

First, get out of bed! I want coffee☕

I like to hear about your baking ang maybe you have some good ideas.Only fancy cookie I made in past was those stained glass ones.I think it's sugar cookie dough and you cut out center and put crushed jolly rancher candy.I don't remember how long you bake for....oh makes me think of time I made olaf marshmellow cookie type thing. The website I saw it on used sugared orange candy cut to nose but I didn't like the look so here is another idea for snowman nose I molded mini orange star burst into carrot nose.I might have use tiny bit of those Wilson melts to hold nose on. For olaf arms I was kinda fancy ...lol I used shoestring licorice and cut to look like branch but you lay out on wax paper and use coco melt by painting licorice using like a glue you add other pieces and paint a few times till pieces hold good and melts hard the ya do back side.lt looks nice a a branch...
