Looking forward to seeing if my cats will eat romaine lettuce. it's hard to grow cat grass in the house and it's too dang cold and dark to get it growing outside. So... let's see if the lil buggers will like some salad. lol :canadian:

I'm happy to report that at least two of my the lil buggers like romaine lettuce! Phew! So glad! These guys were losin' their lil furry minds when I'd walk in from the yard with a pot full of (cat!) grass!

Fortunately, me and the beasties don't live in any of those states. Damn... and I was going to add that I always thoroughly wash my veggies for just that reason and then I read this... Washing your greens is a good idea, but won’t necessarily get rid of dangerous E. coli, which can cling to nooks and crannies in the leaves, Rogers notes. There are alternatives. I used to buy the chia pet cat grass kits and grow them indoors. Of course, I am a dork who is fascinated by chia pet concept. They were very easy to grow - even for someone like me who can inadvertently kill a cactus. LOL. There is also a company that delivers fresh already grown cat grass plants in Chinese take out type containers. Pet grass.com Not as much fun but it keeps the furballs happy. Good luck. |
OMG ... that's awesome! I was growing it outside and then it got cold so the wheat grass stopped growing. I tried inside but I wasn't able to give them enough light ... well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! lol I've never been very good with indoor plants.
The Chia Pet grass things sounds great! I'm going to try that route... I've always though Chia's were fun! Thanks! :koolaid: Quote:

Getting my apartment all set up like I want it! Exploring the area! Joining friends again for meals out! My OWN space again, finally! NOT having to live out of suitcases and having one tiny space in a fridge...(it is the simplest of things for me...:...) Getting out of NC by just hours...missing the ice/snow storm they got yesterday and now. Making a very safe & uneventful journey here. Having super helpers unload me very fast & efficiently. My amazing friends here who jumped right in to help out, too! |

My days off were a bust...spent with a nasty tummy bug. Bummer.... Oh....and then there's football too..... doesn't get any better than that :) |

My neurology appointment, MRI and inpatient sleep study. All have been rescheduled three times now. I know there have been times when other people's schedules have had to be rearranged to accommodate my needs... Still it's been really frustrating. I guess I just need to keep my mind off all that has gone wrong and instead try and stay focused on what has gone right. Which so far has actually been quite a lot.

Having battled the flu now going into week three I am really, really looking forward to breathing clearly, no coughing, and getting my energy back. This year's strain was no joke.

Monday morning, so I can talk to the listing agent for the acre+ of land I just found. It's PERFECT. Water, septic, power already installed, large leveled home lot setting amongst a large lot of mature trees and wilderness, set way off the road on a hill top... and NO RESTRICTIONS..."motivated seller"
I hate calling any listing agent on Sundays...but I might not be able to contain my excitement! And....Looking forward to getting my truck back!!! |
