Awake at 9am. Texted boss about an issue at work. Laid back down but didn't sleep for another half an hour or so. Finally drug myself up and grabbed some grub. Since then, Ebon and I have watched Open Season II, I've forced him to hammer in a few nails on a small bookcase and also helped me move said bookcase around until I was fairly happy with its location. I have moved some light furniture around, dusted most of the living room, cleaned up our 'game area', gathered up the recycling, I'm on the third load of laundry now, I've spot vacuumed, and now I'm taking a break.

Later, I shall go through about 10 tubs/boxes of clothes and miscellaneous to either find homes for the stuff or put it in the donate bag I started today.

Since my shoulders ache from yesterday's work, I'm not sure if there's going to be anything more than that done today, although there is plenty more that needs to be done around here.

Sunday, Part Two (cuz I'm not fancy like Jo):

I have linens in the linen closet now, versus in a tub in the storage room! I also have a suitcase and a tub full of winter clothes that have been sorted and stuffed waaaay back in the closet. I ate the delish dinner that Ebon and I concocted together but he cooked. I went through ALL of my jeans, camisoles, underthings, tanks, shorts, pajamas, and exercise bottoms and sorted them into keep or donate and then found a home for the keepers. Ebon can testify, this was a BIG deal. Our bed was fully covered and stacked yay high with each type of clothing.

<--clotheshorse

I pretty much pulled everything (boxes and tubs) out of the storage room that wasn't empty and now all of the Christmas stuff is together and I have a couple of empty tubs to put the stuff that I will sort out today in, since the linens and whatnot they held now have an appropriate home. A big ole bag of garbage and another of recycling was taken out. I popped online right before bed too.

Now, for today:

I pulled the last load of laundry out of the dryer and fluffed and folded it. I've eaten four poptarts and drunk half a glass of skim milk. I've played on here for a while and put away a load of dishes in the dishwasher (it was run before bed). That's pretty good, I think, since it took me the better part of an hour to get myself out of bed once Ebon's alarm went off. Too much work and not enough sleep do not make for a happy Gemme.

Later today, I will finish the sorting of the clothes and rehang what's been pulled out for the sorting and donating process as well as going through the paperwork I've accumulated for the past few months and shred it. I think Ebon and I will also pop in HEB for a short list of stuff. The bathroom still needs to be scrubbed good and the floors swept, mopped and vacuumed.

I'm so glad to have Wednesday and Thursday off, since THIS weekend hasn't been a weekend at all. It's been quite the opposite of what weekends are supposed to be about.

If you have linens in the linen closet, then you're fancy :winky:

My Saturday was awesome and weekend-y, but Sunday pretty much sucked. Productive, but painful and icky and generally not one I would want a repeat of.

Today...
I have managed to get out of bed, get dressed, make breakfast for the kiddo, pack lunches for kiddo and Scoote, take kiddo to school....

...and, more importantly, I have managed to not go off at my boss (even though she's making my life much more difficult at a time when I really can't deal)...and not to shut down my work computer, say screw it, and go back to bed.

Clearly, I don't function well on stress and no sleep.

I'm with you. Those are not a good combination to exist on.

Hey, you made it to work! Bonus for you. I'm not doing that. I haven't even gotten dressed yet. The fact that my hair's in a ponytail is an accomplishment (sore shoulders).

Oh, yeeeeaaaahhh. I AM fancy!

Only because I work from home :giggle: ...thank goodness, or I'd be calling in sick today.

PinkieLee 03-21-2011 10:42 AM

Since our big move on Saturday, I am officially down to only 3 or 4 boxes of stuff to put away. Pictures & curtains are hung, furniture is arranged and clothes are put away. It's actually starting to look and function like home!

Tonight after work, we are heading over to the old house to finish up the final cleaning & loading up anything we might have forgotten.

UGH, I am sooooo over moving, but am happy we did!

For the first time in months I took a day and relaxed with the storm promised in the air today it has been called for the last two days and still had not come yet.
When the electrician failed to show at 7 am as he requested, and when I called at 9 am to ask what the issue was and he said no next weekend I ask ohh is that what you meant when you said see you this weekend? GRrrr…..
Went back to bed since I was unable to sleep the night before.
With a two hour nap under my belt, I organized the bookshelf and closet the made way back to the hospital to visit little sis.
She was in tears when I got there because her roommates son was incredibly mean to her swearing at her crossing English and Spanish, because Sis asked the nurse a question when she came into the shared room. I could have done some serious damage to the fool's fool. But I resorted to my brain instead and he and his mother were moved to a different room.
spent a few hours more with her working on puzzles and just chatting, surprised that she hasn't said much about a Hawaii trip that she's not able to go on.
Came home snuggled with a friend and a movie on the sofa while the storm out side pelted the hillsides and windows. And felt guilty for ordering a pizza for the first time in years…. But tipped the delivery guy more than double since he was out in the weather.

then fell asleep to the lightning and thunder that i love so dearly!

Not much.

We got up and went to Wal-Mart and then brought the cold stuff home then dashing out to finish the food shopping at Costco. We came home and noshed on some yummies. Took meat out of freezer for dinner. Put away all the groceries. Watched an episode of Ebon's space show with him and am now playing on here. It's too hot to go out and do anything right now.

I have one last project to finish for my last course for grad school.

I worked on the project for several hours yesterday and for several hours today.

I do have to take a few more grad classes in math for my professional license, but

Little by little, I am chipping away at what I want to get done and what I need to get done.

And, I said I wanted to start a viable robotics program this year, and I did.

Arwen 03-27-2011 04:48 PM

I accomplished:
  • Waking up (hey, you gotta count this...really)
  • Tarotscopes
  • Lunch with family
  • Borders (wow. Sad but what a sale!)
  • Lowes (who knew organic dirt could STINK that much and that you could see so many people with dogs there)
  • PetSmart (speaking of dogs, I saw people I know)
Did not get to the grocery store though. Even with comfy shoes, my feet hurt.

Soft*Silver 03-27-2011 06:27 PM

I died my hair purple today! So I am ready to go to Cleveland Clinic if need be after the Cat Scan!

That's about all you're going to get from me before lunch on my day off.

Arwen 03-28-2011 10:36 AM

Gemme 04-01-2011 10:54 PM

Today, we stayed in bed as long as possible and snuggled, then Ebon made himself some coffee and went to work and I got up and made a smoothie for breakfast. After that I did 2 loads of laundry (and have one more in the wash right now), had lunch, made the bed with the fresh sheets and Ebon helped me get the new bedskirt on, watched youtube crafty videos, played on here, had lunch, loaded and ran the dishwasher, gathered the recycling, got ready and went to work for a few hours, stopped on the way home to pick up milk and gasoline and bought a lottery ticket on a whim, we ate Ebon's dinner, watched Machete, I cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom, took a nice walk after the movie and hung out at the pool sticking our feet in the water, checked the mail, played 3 rounds of Uno, and now I'm back here waiting on that laundry and for the sleepies to kick in full speed.

lionpaw 04-02-2011 01:52 AM

My wife and I worked on our scrapbooking projects.....

We enjoyed our evening with our dear friends just talking the night away....

Gemme 04-02-2011 11:02 AM

Today, I made myself a smoothie, started Ebon's coffee, made the bed, put last night's laundry away, washed the morning dishes, changed some necessary information on a couple of accounts, viewed some youtube videos, played on here a bit, opened up the blinds in the living room, brought Ebon the last of his coffee, took some Pepto, and I'm nuking a Night Hawk TV dinner now. Hopefully, my tummy will like it since they are awesome.

The rest of my day depends on how I feel, but I know there's going to be a mail check and probably a garbage run. Other than that, I'm not sure.

femmennoir 04-02-2011 12:51 PM

I walked my dog (always my first thing), came home, made my morning triple espresso, savoured it on the deck, had some whole grain toast with sunflower seed butter (yum!, from Trader Joe's)), made bed, did some house clearing and organizing, made a run to the dry cleaner's (dropped off and picked up, and brought hangers to recycle), brought a Japanese screen to the Goodwill, with a bag of plastic bags to recycle, found out I could recycle old glasses and dropped them off at Lenscrafters, got some neon tubes for under the kitchen cabinets and installed them, took the subway to Manhattan to go back to the Japanese store where I bought sweaters a couple of days ago, and got long sleeve tees, leggings and camisoles, went into Housing Works Bookstore and Café (NYC charity which has several thriftstores also, they help patients with AIDS), which is the best bookstore in NYC and this weekend is first weekend of the month when everything is 30% off! I got a first edition of a Madeleine L'Engle book for $17! It lists at around $100/$150! Plus a charming book by a Japanese young woman artist, who does brushwork painting where drawings are mixed with her poetry!, and two cookbooks! All for $50! Had an ice tea there and took the subway home because the books were heavy!
Now I am home, but will need to walk the dog again soon, and I just realized I did not have lunch! It will be probably bread and cheese and a glass of wine!
I know nothing about the rest of my day, although I need to sort out my winter and spring clothes! Dinner is planned : the rest of my grilled flank steak, sliced over greens and cherry tomatoes.
