I have a fascination with the sky and landscapes. Recently have been catching some amazing photos of dusk and sunset. Especially when there was fire smoke in the sky.

homoe 06-26-2017 08:31 PM

I have an affinity for college campuses either urban or rural and especially in autumn!

cathexis 06-26-2017 10:15 PM

Am not too fond of running into potentially dangerous wild animals (moose, elk, bear, cougar, bob cat, any snake, etc.) in nature.

I would immediately look for the emergency brake switch to stop the ride so I can get off.

Sweet Bliss 06-26-2017 10:22 PM

I love cooking for peeps I love.

girl_dee 06-27-2017 04:27 AM

I can TOTALLY relate to that! I started to drink coffee with a lot of milk and sugar when I was like 11 and had a black-only phase between 17 and 26, than again with milk and sometimes sugar, now back to with (lactose free) milk :D

I tried to swith to black tea, but this never worked out.

Degotoga 06-29-2017 01:39 PM

I'm not easily impressed.

I didn't drink coffee until I was 20. I would take morning breaks with my other managers down in the coffee shop.
Back in the day when dept stores had everything. I started with cream and a little sugar. I really don't like sweet drinks, so the sugar got eliminated quite quickly. So it's just with real liquid half/half or for a treat, heavy cream. It seems my adult tastes have changed.

When I was growing up, before the pool was put in we had two giant avacado trees. My Mom put them in salads. Chopped up, all slimey, covering the lettuce sometimes. I picked them out. Then, just like that, I loved guacamole. Now, I can cut into one, salt and pepper it..yum. avacado sandwiches. ..now your talking.
And yet, liver and lima beans remain....yucky!

Go figure...and I love textures!
Yes, to cottage cheese and oatmeal, gizzards..etc...

Gemme 06-29-2017 06:15 PM

I am SHOCKED that my boo likes neither watermelon nor fresh cherries.

There's something wrong with that.

I could eat a whole watermelon myself! Love it. Not so much cherries, though my grandmother had a cherry tree I liked to climb.

About once a year, I've just got to have one of those $1 frozen "party" pizzas. Even though they taste like cardboard, they're a childhood comfort food.

Canela 06-29-2017 09:20 PM

I am a sucker for a good story and a handsome face... but I'm working on it. Lol

5 Love Languages

I love to receive gifts, I perform acts of service (cooking meals, keeping the house tidy and clean, washing and drying and putting away laundry....etc), I love to spend quality time together and crave physical touch. I like hearing affirmations because it's good feedback, but I take care of myself and the one I love by providing affirmative value in quiet valuable ways.

I don't like it when people just walk up and hug me, especially if I don't know them well. I do this thing where I grab their hands and squeeze them before they can grab me - I used to just suffer through it.

2qt 07-01-2017 05:03 PM

I have a phobia of Rhino Beetles or beetles of any kind really lol

Me neither....in fact only people I`m really close to get a hug. Not that I`m not a smiley, warm, caring soul straight off meeting me, I am, I`m just guarded about my personal space....that maybe a new flaw I`ve discovered in myself !

When my children were younger there was a `Mom`pal that would throw her arms around you if you happened to be passing by the school gate at the same time, like a long lost friend. I used to see her twice a day, 5 days a week :| One time when she was particularly enthusiastic pulling me to her I couldnt help but say "Gosh its been so long since I`ve seen you, at least 6 hours" I`m pretty sure it went straight over her head.

1974 was a fun time :). What did you do in that organization? Any park work or environmental work?

Orema 07-02-2017 06:08 AM

I was kicked out of a home for unwed mothers as a teenager for looking at the other girls too hard. They were looking at me "hard" too, but I didn't complain.

Orema 07-02-2017 06:09 AM

I love apples.

girl_dee 07-02-2017 09:16 AM

Orema thats crazy!

i was sent to a girls home when i was a teenager, but the nuns weren't ready for me just yet. i actually loved the structure and would have stayed if allowed to. My parents thought it would scare me, but it was more sane and quiet than being at home.

It was insane and surreal and I hated it. One half was living quarters and the other half was the hospital. And we weren't allowed to see the hospital until we went into labor. So much secretcy. So unhealthy...

My dad (my hero) came to pick me up when they gave me my walking papers. He said something like "they said you were looking at the girls" and I told him they were looking at me too. We went to have shrimp and strawberries (my cravings at the time) and never discussed it again.

Georgia, I have nearly the same identical problem....so I totally hear you.

I have issues with people touching me as if they know me, when they don't really know me at all. I only accept touch from people who I know and appreciate greatly.

I don't like people who randomly assume that it's okay to touch me ..... in friendly or not so friendly ways.

girl_dee 07-03-2017 03:44 AM

i tend to believe/trust people even when i know better.....

homoe 07-03-2017 09:18 PM

Whenever I check out at a store, I like to have the odd change to go with the bills so I won't get any additional back!

I had a customer once who would only write a check for an even amount, then give me any odd amount in coins, maybe that rubbed off on me, I dunno! She claimed it was much easier to balance her checkbook!

Kätzchen 07-05-2017 04:23 PM

I am an intensely shy woman.....

I only open up under the right conditions......

girl_dee 07-05-2017 05:27 PM

i cannot swim worth a darn, but i sure love floating around......

Orema 07-08-2017 08:28 AM

I do not like all-you-can eat deals.

Smörgåsbords were the thing when I was growing up in Michigan and it's where my father wanted to go for any and all celebrations.

All-you-can-eat deals are popular in California, especially at the casinos. I dont' gamble and don't eat enough (at one time) to enjoy the casino nights with the girls, though I love to see a good entertainment show at the casino.

I love getting change back and sometimes I'll use dollars when I have enough change. I collect the change in one of my favorite jars and spend it during the holiday season. I usually save between $70.00 and $120.00 each year.

There were 16 of us from all over the state of Kansas. Our main objective was at 3 state lakes. We built shelters, cleared trails and beaches as well as maintenance of the dams (at that time these lakes were man-made specifically for irrigation of crops).

We conducted wildlife counts on the kangaroo rat, the golden eagle and the intrusion of evasive fish. Reestablished the trout and large mouth bass at the local fishery. We were paid a stipend of $30 a week, lived in the university dorm, wore khaki shirts with jeans and boots all military and required hard hats. We also earned 6 hours of college credit.

Sorry for the long answer-thanks for asking.
