If it's a pill, put it in a small square of cheese or a small piece of meat. If it's liquid, you are going to have to put it in something with a stronger taste than what the medicine has.

I have a better picture NOW than I did with TWC! Not as many channels, mind You, but I have the news....and the major stations. That's all I need.

Simplifying is a lovely thing!

Awesome! Those without HDTVs can still use an antenna. They just have to buy a converter.

In other news, Ebon and I discussed what our plan is for when the world comes to an end. :blink:

If it's a solid pill, then crush it between two spoons and hide the powder in a spoonful of icecream.. (no chocolate)... If he is a icecream kinda dog.... They eat the unexpected treat so fast, they don't taste the pill...

I took a nap this afternoon and had THE sweetest dream about Bob Green (of "Biggest Loser" fame)......

God only knows why, but he was crazy in love with me....and it was ever so SWEET.....and I was determined NOT to fall in love with HIM, but I just could not help myself ~ the man found joy in every little thing we saw.....and I kept saying to myself "Can't the man see I'm not THIN?!?!?!"....but it didn't seem to matter to him. And I remember how tender he was and how he touched me and how cute and shy and giddy he was.....which made me giddy in return.

Nice dream.......

For the 7th day in a row, the Mom of the "demon seed toddler
from hell" downstairs, sent the lil bugger off with his Dad at 7am.
If my luck holds, they won't be returning until after dark.

A week without screaming, crying, banging, slamming, running-
might of been the kid, might have been the harried Mother.

Either way, life has been peaceful and quiet. I love it.

Nina 03-19-2011 02:41 PM

I am still sick..

I can't really eat, although more than most of this week...

I can't lay about...

so far I have made:

1) a fresh pear crisp...I sautéed the pears (3 apples as well) in butter and maple syrup and some lime zest...the crisp is made with gram crackers, flour, sugar, vanilla and butter and walnuts...some on the bottom, then the fruit and a whole bunch of the crisp drizzled with maple syrup...it is good, if I do say so myself...

and, finishing up in the oven:

B) 5 cheese mac and cheese...I found some pastas left and cooked them, two kinds...the sauce was basic--roux and then milk, with a bit of left over half and half...a variety of 5 cheese I had left over, including asiago, and emtheraler, cheddar, jack and a bit 'o parm...added some dry mustard, garlic, cyan and sherry...mixed it all together...into a baking pan, covered with panko bread crumbs and into a 400 degree oven...now it's all brown and bubbly and will be out soon...only problem is, I don't Like mac 'n cheese...it just popped into my head so I made it...

on the list are scones...not sure if I will make sour cream scones, or heavy cream scones...I am also thinking of maybe cream scones and then sour cream muffins...

I have lost my physical voice which is why, I think, I am using my virtual 'voice' here to babble away...

I will stop while I still have, a self perceived, modicum of dignity left...I just deleted things with the word 'fuck' in it!

Daktari 03-19-2011 03:28 PM

I just love my touchy feely magic mouse. :hangloose:

Nina 03-19-2011 03:44 PM

I have just taken gingerbread with dried apricots out of the oven...I don't really have much more room for all the dishes I have done...now I am gonna (try) and see if I can stop for a while...

the sun is out !! finally!! so maybe that will help me slow down...

Today was warm, breezy...
Sat under a tree on Campus, and watched 3 Squirrels play/squabble/forage/stare at me.......
So, I looked for wi-fi and tapped into my droid Galaxy Tab.
Came up with the following on Squirrels....

- Order: Rodentia [ a.k.a. Rats, porcupines, guinea pigs, beavers, etc..]

- Family: Sciuridae [hmm....big rats...some might say cute..it's up for grabs]

- Diet: Omnivores...Squirrels are opportunistic eaters, that is, they are not strictly herbivore or carnivores. However, they rely heavily on Protein, and because they suffer frequent...brainfarts...they forget where they stashed the goods, come spring, said goods start sprouting and growing, forcing the starving [albeit chunky] lil bugger to hunt birds, smaller rodents and maybe bugs.....

-Weight: Ranges from 0.5 oz. – 4 lbs. [see? Chunky rat]

-Offspring: They give birth to 2-8 babies {varies amongst species of Squirrels} which are born blind and naked. They stay with mom until 2-3 months old at least.Unlike beavers, "daddy" disappears until the "kiddies" leave home, y'know, wham bam, thank u, bye, good luck with the brats{again, depends on species...if there's a colony, u get the idea..}
The male will frequently stay in a rather pisspoor made Nest while the Momma raises 'em, if the nest is impressive...it's hers.
Between late winter, and early Spring, you'll notice Squirrels playin "tag"....y'know...chasing, tackling...That's pretty much all the male squirrel cares to do all that time....fuckfuckfuck...so, the female obviously runs off...playin hard to get, dont be fooled...she wanna bow chika bow bow too, the coy, hard-to-get routine...she'll stop, let him get close, run off...stop...allow a sniff....run...
Which...btw, can go on for days until she lets him do the Deed {often}
-Lifespan: The average is about 6 years, however, if the animal lives near traffic, it's closer to 1 year {I didn't add that, but I do see the logic, besides...u ever seen a squirrel run on a power line???..BZZZZZZT.. }

Group name: Because squirrels mostly live a solitary life, and don't live in groups, no formal group name has been given. However, some people loosely call a group of squirrels a dray or scurry.

Some squirrels "fly", some squirrels live underground, some live in trees....
They do hibernate, but wake every 4-5 days to eat, poop...and screw...
They're incredibly Intelligent, which is to say...if you're tryin' to get close [I tried, gave up 3 times and used a Zoom feature, I swear I caught a pic of one that looked constipated] and they pause from whatever they're doing, and resume?
You might as well say fuck it and move on, they spotted u and they're watchin' your every twitch...
On campus though, I've been within touching distance, I don't though...
Considering one of their predators is the Weasel, I'd rather not....Rodent = sharp teeth.....
Weasel = Ferret....feral or domestic...

:mohawk:

Useless....I know , Random too!

I'm reading about a Minimalistic Lifestyle.......minimal everything........

And I just pulled 10 (that was the number they suggested) articles of clothing from my closet that ( A) I have never worn and never will, and ( B) I will never wear again.

I took them straight to the car to deliver to Safe Place in the morning.

That. Felt. GOOD.
