Gemme...we each are to get six, not five.
We had 7 participants....:)

My two packages came intact!
I have 6 masks, which is what I am supposed to have.
No extras here.....sorry

nanners 03-14-2017 03:10 PM

Sorry it has taken me awhile to post, but I got mine yesterday, FSF's was separate and I got 5 in the padded envelope Besame sent out.

I have a picture of the one that I sent for CCB...on my phone and also the one that Clay made for her on my phone. Mine was painted pink and had butterflies on it.

I have a proposal. Clay and I will make CCB's over again and send them to her while I am visiting Clay beginning next week. Who knows what happened, but it doesn't really matter...we are cool with that and then we can all just move on and start a new project. Clay and I have enough leftover supplies to make the same ones again for her. Will this work for everyone?

I think it may have been a mistake somewhere along the line and humans are prone to make mistakes, let's just be kind and forgiving and move on, k?

Breathless 03-14-2017 04:09 PM

My package is yet to be received.. It usually takes at least a solid week at least for shipping. *I am not fretting, or complaining* as I discussed with Besame when she was shipping to send the most cost efficient way rather than quick. If the missing masks are in my package, I will redirect them back to Besame so she is not without as well. I am certain it will all be sorted out, relax please, and just allow the dust to settle so we can fix it asap. Everyone is doing the best they can, and mistakes do happen.. rarely.. Happy Pi Day!

clay, CCB said she received FireSign's package, which was sent separately. The package in question that was sent by Besame should have contained 5 projects.

This is very kind of you and clay to offer!

Please understand that everyone that signs up for these projects has every right to expect return projects. Yes, mistakes happen. I've made a few myself. But I didn't see anyone behaving out of line or being unkind. Some are missing and someone inquired about them. You and clay made a wonderful offer but that offer is very special and not everyone would make it if their projects were lost (hopefully, temporarily!). There are still projects out there in world that some of us from the original tribe still haven't received so we're mindful of this stuff.

nanners 03-15-2017 05:22 AM

Sorry, I didn't mean anyone was not being kind. True, everyone deserves the projects they should receive, and mistakes happen. I just wanted to let CCB know we'd be happy to make her masks again. This was a fun project! My biggest point was that I wanted to be able to move on and have someone start a new one.

nanners 03-21-2017 10:20 PM

I have a couple ideas for a new project but since I've wrangled recently does anyone have a new project they'd like to wrangle? I'm not sure if we're waiting for something still or not.

Breathless 03-22-2017 03:44 AM

My package arrived yesterday - thank you!!
I have one from each person, I really enjoyed the variations!
Really curious what Nanners has in mind for the next project, I am ready :-)

candy_coated_bitch 03-22-2017 07:59 AM

I'm fine with Nanners wrangling another project. I, for one, have no ideas and would love to hear hers!

nanners 03-22-2017 09:29 AM

I feel like a few more people should weigh in on this... I wouldn't want to step on any toes. But thanks for the supportive comments Breathless and CCB.

Gemme 03-22-2017 05:51 PM

I've got ideas but I'm not at a place where I can wrangle successfully so I'm fine with nanners doing another one. I'll jump in down the road when I get my arse in gear and get this place organized again.

GeorgiaMa'am 03-22-2017 06:40 PM

I'd love to hear what nanners has in mind.

clay 03-23-2017 10:08 PM

I am in accord with nanners wrangling a new project!!

For me, it isn't about whom is wrangling as it is about "having fun & enjoying crafting with all you delish peeps.

Let's get our inch on baby!!!

nanners 03-24-2017 08:22 AM

Well it looks like most people have weighed in and one way or another. So I'll be happy to wrangle this next project. My idea is to do inchies, only I want the inchies to be 2" x 2 square. The theme for this is "Seasons". Spring, Summer, Winter, or Fall. Choose one season per 2" inchie. As many can sign up as want to. Sign up would be until 3/31/17 and the deadline for projects would be 4/28/17, with officially being late on 4/17/17.....

What say y'all?

oops...she is here with me & I have her distracted...lol

She was just posting some guidelines for dates....and she meant if we do agree to a project, we would run signups until 03/31/17...with projects being due to 04/17/17 and officially late on 04/28/17....

These dates are a tentative and she is waiting to see about official signups posting!

Sorry about mixups. That sun on the brain on the beach is too much for her...lol

I personally would like to see a longer time to work on them, but that also depends on how many people sign up.

nycfem 03-24-2017 07:07 PM

My. 02, I'm probably in no matter what. My suggestions: more time, plus some kind of spicy twist to the season theme.

Gemme 03-24-2017 07:07 PM

I agree with Georgia in that I'm happy to have more time and am happy with our usual 1 month-ish time frame to do projects. Also, two inch pieces are called Twinchies. There will be less confusion if we call them their actual name, I think. :)

I'm in!

candy_coated_bitch 03-24-2017 08:03 PM

I'm confused. Are we sending each of the four season to each participant , or ONE twichie per person in the four seasons theme?

clay 03-24-2017 10:21 PM

Posting with nanners here beside me...

we are loving all of the input & ideas. Thanks everyone.

We both agree to have it be a longer time frame to do, nanners was just playing with some date ideas.

So, nanners would like nycfem to PM her with her ideas for spicy themes...please!!

Ours are to incorporate: a snowflake for winter, a flower for spring, a sun for summer, & a leaf for fall. These are open to individual interpretation & use of a media of your choosing!

nanners will post signups tomorrow with specifics, dates, etc, and we shall get our twinchies on!!!

candy_coated_bitch 03-24-2017 10:36 PM

Can someone please answer my question?

CCB....see my post above yours.......she hasn't set any specifics yet, and is still gathering ideas. She (nanners) will post the specifics sometime today. Initially she was thinking "one twinchie" per person who signs up, as she stated in post 6137......thanks...hopefully this has answered your question.

How about anyone can post the ideas directly on the thread so that we can think about them together?

CCB, I read Nanners' post as 1 twinchie per person, your choice of season (just cannot combine seasons).

CCB, in the original post, nanners said to choose ONE season per twinchie, so I'm guessing that you could do a winter twinchie or a summer twinchie but will NOT have to cram multiple seasons on one twinchie.

This may change but that's how I read it.

Who doesn't love these things?

I'll put my vote in for allowing us to decide what to put on the pieces and not restricting the items to a leaf, snowflake, etc. Of course, if someone wants to use those, cool but I like nyc's and Besame's ideas too.

Maybe we can be allowed to choose how we interpret the seasons as we see fit as long as it's a definite connection to the season? For example, a fireplace would likely represent winter or fall but not spring or summer. Or a swimsuit would represent summer unless it had fur and Uggs and a Swedish model wearing it.

The gardeners in the group could do pieces with fruits and veggies according to what season they ripen. The fashionistas could do dresses or wraps according to season or the materials used during a certain season....linen versus velvet, for example.

As a participant, I'd like to see the connection the creator makes to the season. Some things happen throughout the year, regardless of season. How would someone make those things season specific? Using Besame's suggestion of kissing, for example.

If someone throws snowflakes in the background of people kissing, that would be obvious, or if there's a close up of someone kissing someone else's sunburned shoulder with a yellow background, that would be obvious. But if someone just put a pair of lips on the piece, that wouldn't be season specific to me.

I love this idea (which incorporates Besame's idea). And would prefer it to the leaf, snowflake idea. It's fun to open a package and see something rather unexpected (within the season / twinchie theme of course!).

New Project Beginning

Project: Twinchies

Quantity you need to make: one for each person that signs up
Theme: The 4 seasons with a twist.
Instructions: Choose one season, and make a twichie for each person that signs up for the project.
Thinking of that season, incorporate something that makes you have a connection with that season specifically...as in Gemme's wonderful ideas:
Examples:
The gardeners in the group could do pieces with fruits and veggies according to what season they ripen. The fashionistas could do dresses or wraps according to season or the materials used during a certain season....linen sus velvet, for example.

"For 2017, the rule is if one of our projects is received by the wrangler more than seven days after the due date, or one of us drops out of a project for whatever reason, that person is welcome to continue posting but is not allowed to sign up for a group project again until six months from the latest date that the project was supposed to be due. No exceptions. This rule applies to participants and to wranglers. Wranglers must mail out projects within one week of the latest date that the projects were supposed to be due. In addition to waiting six months before being able to join a penpal project, the person who has not met the latest deadline must post directly on the penpal thread within a week of missing the latest deadline stating that they have not adhered to the deadline (reason is welcome to be included or does not have to be) and, most importantly, the date on which they will be able to return to participating in the penpal projects. They must scroll back and add themselves to the bottom of the list of any other participants who have not met the late date for any project for 2017. If that is not done, then the member is welcome to participate in the thread with "thanks" and reps and thread chat but not to participate in any future projects for 2017. The reason for this is personal responsibility, so that we have a running record right on the thread that is easy to refer back to when needed. And for the purposes of clarification, if someone drops out before the deadline to sign up has been closed then they are not excluded from future projects because they are still following the rules.

Example: Bitsy misses the late date for a project. Within a week of that late date she must scroll down and find the most recent list of people who have missed the late date in 2017 and copy that list to a new post and add herself. Bitsy's post would look something like this:

'Sorry, I had the bird flu and missed the late date of 2/14/17. I can start participating in new projects on 8/14/17. I have added myself to the list below:

1. Tony (missed the late date of 1/28/17, able to participate 7/28/17)
2. Bitsy (missed the late date of 2/14/17, able to participate 8/14/17)'

This rule must be posted in its entirety at the bottom of all new projects that are being wrangled so that members can thoughtfully consider whether we wish to commit to a new project."

But if someone just put a pair of lips on the piece, that wouldn't be season specific.

Don't forget me!

I have a question, can the twinchies for each season be more abstract? Like say, a feeling or impression of the season, but nothing representational?
