Carmex lip balm does WONDERS for chapped and sore hands, elbows and heals!! WONDERS! Better than ANY lotion I have ever used. My mom uses it on her thumbs and palms where she has eczema and she really sees/feels a difference. It makes the skin supple & keeps it from cracking. Then, when a friend had really chapped skin on her hands so bad they would crack & bleed (she worked on her poultry farm in the nasty cold & wet weather), we gave her a bag of the little jars of Carmex...she started using it daily like lotion and within a week her skin had improved considerably. Plus, if she used it before going outside to work, it gave her hands a barrier to the cold air. I used it often when I worked in cold warehouses and my hands would get very raw... LOVE IT!! (but it does burn just a tad when you apply it to chapped/cracked skin...but it soon becomes soothing.) I use Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, which works great for me as a general rule. But my skin is so sensitive and dry and cracks like nobody's business that it's actually treated best by prescription creams. I just don't have the money to get to the dermie and to pay for the good stuff this year so I am rationing out the remaining stuff I have left.

In the meantime, it hurts. :(

Irrational thoughts...

I am so tired, and so frustrated with this flood. Just discovered my kids baby books and the notebooks of letters I kept for them when I was pregnant are all soaked and ruined. I am beyond frustrated at this point.

The landlord is being a prick. We are cleaning all this up ourselves, even though it was none of the tenants fault this happened. I suspect I am going to end up having to get a lawyer to get compensated for the time and effort we are having to put into this.

As for the stuff that is ruined, no telling if any of us will be compensated. He was negligent in that he knew the roof was having problems and he hasn't fixed it. It was because of the roof problems that the pipe froze. It was because he poured hot water on the frozen pipe that it burst. This sucks!

Waiting for WT to finish folding the towels so we can get on the road to Austin..Im done eating my chicken strips and her homemade ranch(Yummers),got my big ole cup filled with ice for the road trip.....:paw:
