I just have to say.. that it is really pleasant to go into threads where people are having rational and non-criticizing DISCUSSIONS about issues that in past times have created arguments, name-calling, etc etc...

i work a few hours a week beside brilliant people who volunteer their legal services, and donate $. inside of a small house, downtown, built in 1950, there is much activity on front lawns, and streets. one attorney brings her puppy to work, and likes to have a naveriA with me.

something to prove
I have a new female coworker. She walks right past me and does not seem to see me when I smile or try to say hello. I'm not sure if she is just being snobby or if she feels she has to 'prove' herself as a powerful woman to our male coworkers. Either way she is coming across as a total C -u next tuesday.

I can remember dancing around my bedroom when i was weeee little to this silly song on a Saturday morning with a hair brush as my mic. It's got a "blues sound" was a fav and I sang the lead, not the back up....LOL.

My honey and I watched the independent film Gasland last night.
The fact that so many harm our world, and don't care how it affects people, makes me want to cry. The fact that our government turns a blind eye makes me incredibly angry. There has to be more I can do to work against this type of thing. Andrea |

Today I acknowledge I have choices. Yesterday I may not have followed through with my healthier eating, 10 minutes of exercise, being nicer to someone I don't like, showing appreciation for the beauty of the universe, etc., but I choose to do so today. Everyday is a new opportunity.

Soooo - the "mouse" I thought was messing around in my aviary - turns out he has a long fluffy tail and should be outside in the trees. We finally met yesterday. My kitty was trying to show him the door. He chose the window. Unfortunately it was shut at the time. I tried a net, but he was faster than me. He was last seen heading in the direction of the closet. How do you call a squirrel, anyway? :|

Every time I look at my local paper I find humor in it. From today's paper, A woman answered a knock on her door Friday morning to encounter a heavyset white female wearing a brown hat and scarf and "big dark glasses" spraying her in the face with what seemed to be hairspray and beating her with what is described in the report as "a plastic dump truck."
