Time to put down the crochet hook and get BUSY! I have the idea, I have the supplies, I just need to get down and do it! Thank you for motivating me, Katniss!

Yay! Thanks for doing this and I am excited to see them all!

Katniss~~(also, mine are more on the 'craft' side than the 'art' side but I did use 2 mediums as I was fooling around with India inks....)

Oh Katniss, what a keener, now I really want to get in the studio. I look forward to seeing what you sent.

Okay, picking up the hook again.....

..... because I've finished my art work for the ATC project! Time for me to go have a final :tea: and then head off to sleep! The cards will go in the mail in early July once I'm back in Canada! I can hardly wait to see everyone's project!

Artists Cards galore and glorius

How awesome, and motivating to see folks so inspired. I am playing hooky from work, and what a great way to spend my day.

Here I come...:hangloose:. , tongue sticking out of right corner of mouth, right thumbs up, glue, paint, paper and stuff alllll over the patio table. :artist:

NOW, weather alert on TV. a red flag warning for gusty winds, firefighters on standby for LA and Ventura Counties....well, I am south of that so, better get busy before I get scattered today.

Thanks for this one.

laruss 06-20-2013 01:17 PM

I have my first medium on and will add the second today... hopefully.
I may actually be all done this week too.

Then the waiting... waiting... waiting... to see what everyone else did.

I can't wait, it is so exciting to be the wrangler.

Jennifer any word on when the last project is going out? I am excited about that one too. I know I was one of the people who pushed the deadline back so I can't really complain, but it is all very exciting to see what everyone does.

All so creative.

sis 06-20-2013 04:53 PM

I took my cards to work yesterday and welcomed co-workers to randomly choose one to look at. It was really awesome to see their responses. I'm actually thinking of making another box of cards to keep just for inspiration (I have words on the cards).

Hi, all, I'm going to mail the projects this weekend because, well, the end date was in Feb and it's just time!

sorry, ahk, please mail your cards out to each person separately.

Oh, just to let you all know, I included a few art papers (just patterned papers) for those who might be interested in adding them to their craft supplies.

I am sure you will all love the secrets as much as I did :) !!!

nycfem 06-20-2013 07:02 PM

Neurotic, humble request: Please don't spray scent on projects because it can make every project smell like the scent and be a bit overpowering. Thanks :)

laruss 06-20-2013 10:09 PM

I am really glad everyone is enjoying the ATC's.

I completed step 2 on mine, one more step and mine will be done.

I love them so much I am thinking of doing more and framing them. I already do small watercolours about the size of an ATC and I mount them on a 5 x 7 mat. This might work for these too, I am going to try it.

candy_coated_bitch 06-20-2013 11:07 PM

Ok, you guys are getting me excited! I have my ATCs all cut out and ready and am pretty sure I decided on a theme...yet I can be fickle.

I think it's cool we will be getting so many cards so we can see so many different people's styles. :)

laruss 06-21-2013 11:10 AM

I'm done, I'm done, I'm done :pile:

This was a fun one. I love my little miniatures.

cara 06-21-2013 06:12 PM

I really do love ATCs, but I just couldn't commit the time to this project. I can't wait to see them all at the Reunion! :-)

:stillheart:

Michael's did not have ATCs.

I know!

I, too, was aghast.

I have a plan, though.

candy_coated_bitch 06-22-2013 12:36 AM

There are good online places to get ATC supplies, don't know how you feel about that. artchix.com is AWESOME. I usually just cut mine out of 9 X 12 watercolor paper. Lemme know if suggestions would be welcome. :)

I am aghast. Ours has them (usually hanging because they are small), all our art stores have them as well, but if you can't find them you can cut them to size from any paper. Final size is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".

I got mine at Hobby Lobby but truth is I ended up only using a few and cutting out my own from card stock and scrapbook paper. But as I said, mine are more "crafty" than "art" as it was a fun project to share with my 10 year old.

Katniss~~

I was going to use other cardstock, and I still might do that, but I finally found something that might work. A smidge smaller but if that doesn't work, I'll cut the stuff out. I have tons 'o normal-ish cardstock.

Katniss, I can't go into Hobby Lobby anymore. It's sad because they have such great stuff but they are stringently anti-gay and right wing, so I pass on them.

Wow! Well where have I been? I actually just Googled that and you are correct...and it gets worse as apparently..." I guess in defense of my ignorance we don't have a H.L. where I live so it wasn't on my radar as anti-anything. I was out of town and saw the store and went in. I had no idea and thanks for sharing!

Katniss~~

It's a true shame too, because they carry soooo many beautiful and lovely things.

There was a plaza in Austin that had a HL, a Chik fil A and a Christian bookstore.

I :twitch: every time I drove by it.

laruss 06-28-2013 09:42 PM

I want to apologize to Katniss and I hope it has not been a problem for anyone else, the address I gave everyone is a post office box, they do not accept UPS, only post.
Here in Canada we do not use UPS (courier) unless we need something delivered quickly and/or securely. If you are using UPS as opposed to USPS please let me know and I can give you another address. I do not normally give out my home address and my girlfriend would kill me if she knew I was, but just know if you show up on my door step my dogs will eat you. lol

Sorry again Katniss, hopefully it is not to late and can be rerouted.
