ahhh...my shoulder surgery is scheduled for January 6th. My surgeon is talking to my stumach surgeon since I had massive blood clots when I had the majority of stumach removed. The shoulder surgeon is quite worried about this. I have to go to a vascular place and get some kind of tests done, to make sure none of the clots still exist. I didnt know they could still be there! Holy crap! Have I been walking around with blood clots in me?

I was told 6 weeks in a brace, then 6 months recovery time. Oh happy day...

Urban Legend

Did you know that the smoke detector industry is covering up research that shows more people are killed every year falling from ladders and stepstools while trying to change the batteries in a smoke detector than are killed in house fires.

Wryly 11-25-2011 08:04 AM

I just want to sleep!

I took some meds last night - they helped a bit but I still feel like roadkill. I just want some tea and a nice long nap.

I wonder about that when I'm laying in the bath and every Autumn the bathroom lightshade always needs cleaning from the Summer infestation. How do they get in the house with all the insect repellent herbal satchets I have and 5 cats?! I'm often praised on having a bug free house, lol!

I was trying on some clothes this afternoon, in a department store. The 4 full length mirrors and the ultra bright flourescent tubed lighting. My first thought as I stood there in my bra and panties and black thorlo socks was how washed out my skin color was. No wonder people lay in those tanning beds.

Then the shocker:eek: silver roots! I pay all that money for a color specialist to inter-twine three colors of light brown to blonde into my own medium brown hair, but there is no stopping the silver. I don't think I ever noticed
it like this before. Suddenly, I didn't like any of the clothes I was trying on
because I wasn't liking my hair.

My hair is all one length now. It took two painful years to grow out. It may also be the longest it's been in the last 25 years. Maybe it's time for a radical color change to a great shade of silver. Just not blue.

Leigh 11-25-2011 03:25 PM

Hym of course :)

I am wondering how I will ever get this splinter out of my right butt cheek.

I was wood working on the back patio - such a beautiful day outside. I was having so much fun ... and now this! Scooted on my butt across a plywood panel and it's in deep. Damn! It only hurts when I sit down.

I am trying to figure out who I am going to ask to help me. I cannot remove it myself. Can't get to it, already tried.

I am so tired ... and this splinter has made me cranky! :(

Thinking a nap will help me right about now ... maybe the good fairy who removes splinters will visit me while I sleep. LOL! (wishful thinking)

Having grown up around horses and worked on a dairy, and having the rear that I do...I have had more than one splinter in my butt. :)

A long soak in a hot bath with Epsom salts will help it work its own way out....seriously.

Good luck!

The craziness around the shopping. Violence over a television, and in the spirit of something supposedly so sacred.

Sassy 11-25-2011 06:08 PM

Wondering if the little dog really does read my mind sometimes... would certainly explain how she always knows it's bath time or time for her nails to be trimmed before I even get off the couch ... hmmm ...

WomenMoveMe 11-25-2011 06:44 PM

What's in a Name...

Was thinking about the name with which I was almost bestowed on the day of my birth. Had I been named 'Marina'...rather than Lisa...would I have grown to be a different person?

Should I have been given a more 'girly' name...might I have evolved into a 'girly' girl? Or would I simply have been butch with a silly name for a butch? (apologies to all butches named 'Marina'...I am sure you are all wonderful butch 'Marinas')

Leigh 11-25-2011 07:12 PM

Hym, I can't stop thinking of Hym :)

I'm so stupid sometimes

Inked_Trinity 11-26-2011 05:08 PM

Had the funniest thing happen last night...... I was bent over pulling up my pant leg in the bar, showing part of my tattoo. Next thing I know a woman smacked me on the ass! Total stranger.... All I could do was laugh. Got to say that was a first for me.

Scuba 11-26-2011 07:12 PM

The two snowiest states I've lived didn't allowed chains or studs. I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so I don't either one is necessary for me...love the sound they make though. :)

ButchEire 11-26-2011 07:19 PM

They still come in handy here, where we get a plethora of black ice. When I had 4wd, I still used studs. They do make a cool sound!

ButchEire 11-26-2011 07:44 PM
