That feeling of making plans and being so excited about how things are going to be and then it turns out to be even better than you ever thought it would be.

A break in the biblical rains...

I took the opportunity to head out for a hike with the dogs. There was a rainbow along the way. I always say that this area apologizes for the bad weather.

For example: last night we had storms and rain, but the sunrise was pinkish gold...it illuminated the entire sky. Amazing. So that too brought me joy...

And all the rain made for many waterfalls along the drive. And the one I hike to (hickory nut falls) was roaring over the cliffside. We were completely alone out there. Rain threatened but held off til we were walking out.

Wonderful day...

Getting several, very important papers in the mail from insurance with a totally unexpected positive decision about "out of network approvals". I was so happy it was like hitting the lottery.

the love of my English shepard/maremma pup. She is a year old and just loves me so sweetly! I adore her!

Working out some of the complexities of the painting I've been working on.

Waking up to find that the ol ticker was still ticking was a damn good start to a joyful day. ;)

Old-school handwritten letters with beautifully-hued ink, fine stationary, and perfectly elegant wax seals.

I have a whole box of different sealing waxes, stamps, fountain pens, different papers, and fun adornments. Embarrassingly, I have a separate box just to hold all of my fountain pen inks. :blush:

It brought me joy all week.........
 

Watching elected lawmakers either facing their constituents or running and hiding like little bitches!

I'm thinking after the week they just endured, they'll be more than happy to get their asses back to Washington:giggle:

It was yesterday.

I was sitting in the sun waiting on the commuter van to pick me up and I was chatting with mom.

I looked up and there was my dear sweet friend of 20 years walking toward me smiling. I got off the phone and stood up to great my friend. She held out her arms and I slid into her arms. It felt like home. I felt all the stress leave my body and my heart fill with love.

There is something special about a dear old friend. We know each other completely, we respect each other, and we care about each other. There are too many happy and sad memories to talk about but the sight of her familure face brought me so much joy.

An hour and a half spent talking to my parents and just catching up and laughing :tea:

My morning walk on the beach. It is so peaceful, makes me feel so relaxed, at peace with the world, grateful and loved. It's such a blessing! Thank you Lord!

Journaling and taking an easy morning.

Sleeping until noon and then waking myself up with a brisk walk with Bella, good coffee, and great conversation.

A Skype conversation with my mother today since my brother went to see her and took his tablet along with him.

spending the day with my VERY pregnant daughter and my delightful grand daughter. Dunkin Donuts! Stickers! Cats! Baby dolls! Foot massages!!! I treated them well!

Getting my notary commission certificate in the mail today! :cheer:

my almost three year old grand daughter is learning to be potty trained. It just cracks me up and brings me such joy when I see her jump up from the toys and yell..."BUBI...I GOTTA GO!"

she looks like Shirley Temple with bouncing golden locks and is so adorable as she sits on her potty reading Little Golden Books. LOL

Random man walked into my work today and donated a check for $10,000. He said we are doing the work of god. Whatever his reasoning... thank you thank you thank you. We need it badly.

My daughter has a friend sleeping over. They showed up in hounds tooth stretch pants, a polka dot tank top, a lace over shirt, a plaid flannel over that, a hoodie over that, and their dreads are dyed black, white, and green. Now both teens are upstairs eating junk food and laughing themselves to tears.

God. What *didn't* bring me joy today? LOLOLOL

Thank you! For now, unless rump accomplishes his mission to pull the Violence Against Women Act we have a lot of grants that feed our primary programming missions. But we don't have funds like that for basic maintenance. Our main building alone is approx 170 years old, houses 41 women, a full daycare center, and all of our administrative offices. We need an entire new heating system, plumbing, and roof. I hope this guy tells his rich friends about us.

I was using the self check out at the library today and they added a new feature to the checker outer machine. It pops up an alert of how much money you saved by using the library system rather than buying the book AND tells you how much money you have saved in the current calendar year. I've saved a lot of money! What a fun feature.

Seeing the Big Man's nephew playing with the E Street Band brings me joy
