I have like ... tons of PTO time I need to take before February - I could be off of work today. But NOOOOOOO .... I came in knowing damn well my car would slide all over the freakin' place because it HATES SNOW.

I could be home, warm, cuddled up, watching movies, playing wii, or napping with the Boo.

Three more hours.... just three more hours.....

his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the

post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked

down into the eyes of little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your

puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat

off the back of his neck, "These puppies come

from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then

reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a

handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take

a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out

a whistle.. "Here, Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran

Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain

link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the

dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy

noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably

smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat

awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward

the others, doing its best to catch up...

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the

runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said,

"Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able

to run and play with you like these other dogs would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence,

reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his

trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down

both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made

shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir,

I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone

who understands."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and

picked up the little pup

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

"How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge,"

answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love.."

The world is full of people who need someone who

understands..

Dammit!!! I'm crying again!!!

I went to check my email just now and had a new message, which was from my local Burning Man group. The subject line read "Anyone have spandex and lasers for an event". While I knew what it was for, my friend sitting next to me saw the line and gave me the WTF look. I smiled and said "I do love my kinky freaky Burners".

Why is it the few times a year when I make my own coffee, it isn't nearly as tasty as when Rene makes it? :(

Does every office have a gossipy co-worker that makes stuff up? :furious: :hammer: Who would of thought I was so interesting?

My honey has been sick for almost two weeks and I am tired of it. Me, me, me!!!!

It is good to see the elder cat with emotional issues :playingcat:. Who knew a kitten would be so good for her?

I am looking forward to a new job, ongoing love with Rene, a fantastic vacation and time spent with good friends in 2010 and beyond. Hitting the lottery would be good too.

Little kid at my school came down with the swine flu...right before halloween...he has been in the hospital in various states of consciousness ever since.on xmas eve they had to amputate both of his legs right below the knee...
he still is not breathing on his own...i am so saddened...and distraught....
the little guy had been growing his hair long so he could donate it to Locks of Love...when the nurses heard that,,they started brushing and combing his hair and made sure everyone knew so no one would cut it on him....
I am in desperate need of a haircut..but I just cnat bring myself to get it cut..As much as I do not like long hair,,do not wear long hair...I think I am going to join the little guy at school and grow my hair long (it has to be 10 inches long and in a braid from top to bottom and then they cut the braid off for mailing).....so i was thinking about if i just left my hair grown in the back long...but i will be damned if I have a mullet.....so anyway... if anyone sees me for the next 19 months or so... human hair grows on average of 1/2 inch a month

atomiczombie 01-04-2010 07:39 PM

Okay, I didn't know where to post this, so I am putting it here:

My dad is in the hospital. He has been in since Saturday night. He has a serious heart condition and may need major open-heart surgery to replace his aortic valve. His heart is pumping 20% less blood than it should because his heart muscle is weak, and he has an arrythmia (not sure how to spell it).

I am asking you all to please send your thoughts and prayers his way. I am pretty scared and I am now off to the hospital to visit him.

Thanks everyone, and *hugs* to you all.
