laruss 07-29-2013 05:29 PM

candy_coated_bitch I am so sorry for all your troubles, I have no idea why they were sent back originally.

You have my address so you can just send me mine. Hopefully everyone else gives you theirs. sis is the only one you have to worry about it getting there on time now, and that should not be a problem. Don't forget to send me your address so I can send all your other ones out.

I am sorry that me living in Canada became such a hassle for so many of you. I loved wrangling because I got to see them all, but it might not be worth it to everyone else to have me do it again.

Note: nanners and pixie I got yours today. YAY!!

Everyone did such amazing and very different work, i am so impressed.

I am in for any miniatures you want to do.

nanners 07-29-2013 05:38 PM

CCB, I pm'ed you my address!

Laruss, you'd laugh if you heard the HUGE sign I just let out when I read you got mine today! So...the extras that we sent for people that did not participate, can you send them back to us so we can choose what to do with them when you send out the packages for each of us?
Remeber the Reunion Raffle ones come to me. I am doing something special with them per Tommi's instructions.

I am so relieved!!!!

So, were we the last two? Or are we waiting for justanolecowboy still?

I'm leaving for vacation on Saturday and I'm not back until the 13th or so, so I can imagine I will not get mine until after I return anyway.

Now I'm really excited to see everyone elses!

candy_coated_bitch 07-29-2013 08:15 PM

Thank you everyone who has sent me their address so far and also reached out to calm me down and help me feel better. I do feel MUCH better. :)

ahk 07-29-2013 09:27 PM

CCB, the last project that happened, I sent my first batch to Jen and about 2 wks later received them back and in the meantime I redid the batch and tried sending those. Those as well came back. So I'm not sure what is happening with the postal service. Its crazy!

I have no idea! This isn't the first time this has happened to me, either. I live in a very small town and like three people total work at the post office. You'd think that would make it more reliable, but....nope. LOL. Honestly, I'm just glad they weren't LOST. I put a lot of work into them so I'd rather them be sent back rather than lost any day.

Lookit me being all optimistic and shit.

Tommi 07-29-2013 10:33 PM

US mail service is getting pretty sucky.

My ATC cards were returned too.
Alrighty then, Lemme tell ya what happened with my ATC cards..first time around.
I finished mine, got them in the mail early, and ~ ~ ~ they came back. Not enough postage. NOW, I had taken them to the counter, and personally mailed them after the counter person put the postage on them. (at a USPS contract carrrier's. Mail Bixes, etc.)..week later, there they were. Postage Due..so , I went to the MAIN USPS post office, and was told that not everyone understands the International mail rates , I paid about a dollar and a half more, and laruss got them. ...:seeingstars::seeingstars::seeingstars:

So, next time to Canada, I am going to slather the envelope with good old stamps and send it off...

PS. sending you my addy. :mohawk:

hmmm, I've never stopped at this thread before. I always thought it was about scrapbooking. Ok, so I spent a few minutes here and read what you all are sharing. And I went what the heck is ATC? Googled it, and wow. I want to do this! I'm going to make some. And I'm keeping my eye over here, maybe another occasion to share will come up :)

Katniss 07-30-2013 10:12 AM

Sorry to have been so quiet (although I imagine many were thrilled I was) but just to weigh in quickly.......

I think the deadlines should be firm. Both Sis and LaneyDoll had good points and as I wrote a few pages back I went to extra expense to re-post mine after they were returned thinking if I didn't I would miss the deadline. If I had known we were going to extend I would have re-sent regular post and saved $50.00. But I am "Type A" like that, esp. regarding deadlines and so I take them seriously.

Smaller groups but all working on the same project might be more feasible. I know I was a latecomer added to the list and was so happy I could participate. I would have been bummed if I had not been added to the list then watched several people bow out (for whatever reason.) I think if the group is too small then the times I can't *live* on BFP I would never be able to make the list as it closes so fast. Maybe in this case 2 groups of 10 could have been done? I don't know if then we would need 2 wranglers, I suppose 1 for each group makes sense.

As to the current set of cards...I did not individualize mine but Laruss if you have everyone's address please go ahead and send mine to them, regardless of whether or not they stayed in or bowed out. Any extras can go in the BFP basket or send them back to me, whichever is easiest to do.

C-C-B, I will PM you my address and sorry you also had trouble mailing them off.

Katniss~~ (and yes please, on a new project!)

Pixie 07-30-2013 09:51 PM

Soooo.....quick question...did anyone snag the next wrangling???? If not I totally have something....if so I am more than happy to wait my turn! :D

...honestly I'm just happy to be back....

nycfem 07-31-2013 04:49 AM

Ohhhhhh, I can't wait to see what Pixie has for the next project!

I'm leaving on Vacation Saturday and won't be back until the 12th, so I'm pretty sure I can't participate, but I'm curious to see what it is!

Why start a sign up list if you aren't sure what the project is--- meaning I want to do another project but I don't want to sign up til I know what I'm getting into. But if I don't sign up now, will others take the place and I'll have to opt out? <scratching head>

Agreed. I think the frenzy that ensues after announcing a project because people want a chance to get on the list and if they don't sign up immediately is what caused some of the issues in the last project. I really liked the suggestion of announcing the project, then giving it a couple days so people can actually give it some consideration and then saying "Sign ups will begin on such and such a day at such and such a time." Then people who know they REALLY, after considered thought, want to sign up--they can. And there's not a mad dash just to get on the list.

Also--IMHO after that point--if you don't make it on the list in time, you don't make it on the list. It always seems nice to let one more person join, but if you let one person join, then you have to let the next person join, and so on. If you sign up thinking you'll be doing X amount of whatever--the addition of a few more people might actually make a difference for some people.

candy_coated_bitch 07-31-2013 10:23 AM

PS: For those who gave me your address--your cards are out. :) That's Tommi, laruss, Katniss, nanners, deb, sis, pixie, and nycfem.

sis 07-31-2013 12:52 PM

Just sharing my $.02

The more I think about it, the more I would have to say we should give a four or five day intro to a project BEFORE having a sign-up. I happen to be able to have the time to access BFP several times a day. Others, only a few times a week. This would allow ALL people to have the opportunity to check in to see if there is a project AND allow a good amount of time to think about whether or not a personal commitment can be made. Ya know, I'm a bit of an organizer (and have to be with my life situation) so I have to consider several things BEFORE I make a commitment to anything. Sometimes, I need a couple of days to get my ducks in a row before making a commitment.

I also think that having a Wrangler from the USA is a good thing as then most packages can be tracked for a nominal fee. Okay, tracking doesn't work for those outside of the USA but that only concerns a few people.

And, CCB, I'm waiting excitedly to see your Art! Thanks for getting it in the mail!

Since 2010, In the spirit of it all, it has gone both ways, filled fast, slow , drop outs and add-ons....and we get a little surprise package to enjoy on time, sometimes delayed. (Except for ONCE) When and if Someone mentioned a project months before, signups could be slow, or really fast
Maybe because I have done almost all of them I am signing up. No matter what they were, or who wrangled them since Gemme started the thread. If it is something I have never done, then I want to explore and experience it. (Which has happened to me several times..making jewelry, and ami's project of creating something from what she sent to us all) So, long and short of it, it's for fun..

If you look back to the 2010 or 2011, there has usually been a month or so for sign ups, and since it is something we all look forward to, some of us jump in...It's all good fun.

Corkey 07-31-2013 03:58 PM

I like to know what I'm getting into first and if I can afford to do it. Some of us don't have extra funds to go out and buy stuff.

nycfem 07-31-2013 07:19 PM

I love this idea because it takes a certain amount of skill to come back at a specific date and time and sign up. It will be like an announcement before concert tickets go on sale.
