A plethora of text message that kept me from falling asleep on the job. Sadly due to similar messages keeping me awake until crazy o'clock.

The *thunk-thunk-thunk* of the hammer as the lights go up around the house. The wiggling nose and wagging tail of a 10-year-old, 4-legged friend who can't see the tree so good but darn well knows which packages under it are for her :)

A nice long walk with my doggy down a lonely country road. The puppy was fascinated to see goats.

Being recognized by former students while I was subbing at the high school.... and 5.5 miles on a stationary bike...

Santa Claus is Coming to Town
My Santa Elf hat and face paints all ready to go. Today is the Children's Christmas Party at work.
I get to see those bright little eyes and smiles when they see what I have painted on their faces, then when they come back for more, on thier hands, then their arms. :) :smileyXmasTree: |
After today, I only have one more day of work... and 3 more days till I am on my way to being in paradise!

I got my evaulation today. And I will be receiving a huge raise starting Jan 1st. Yaay for me. I need it in the worst way.

had cd's of the grand nephews and niece's pics the other key to my motorcycle ( thought I had lost it, well, I did, but my sister found it ) choco-chip cookies...home made...YUMMMMMMMMM and nope, not gonna share and i cracked up when the UPS driver showed up in a golf cart..lol |
Work was REALLY slow today.... so got to chill! But, Just got a call and I am going in for a few hours.. whee :-) Best of both worlds..

spending an hour filling and refilling a plastic baby bottle with cheerios with a toddler, who discovered as i watched that while she couldn't reach into the narrow opening to get them out with her fingers, if she turned the bottle over they would fall out. it was so awesome to watch her giggle like it was the greatest thing ever, then do it all over again.

Interviewing and hiring a new supervisor. She has a great attitude towards teamwork and training. Also a genuine like for the job itself.... very refreshing! I like her!

A BIG hug from one of the Disabled Art Studio attendants….in the 4 years I’ve been an Arts co-ordinator there, she has hardly spoken to me. Her brother moved to New Zealand 7 years ago and my accent upsets her deeply because she misses him so much. I try to do my volunteering there on the days she doesn’t attend, but, I can’t always do that…. so for her to come up to me and give me a BIG hug must have taken a lot of courage for her.
I couldn’t stop the tears flowing down my cheeks and one of the paid Art co-ordinators told me that she has never hugged anyone in the 10 years she been going there. |
