I loved La Femme Nikita...

I can not even call 'Point of No Return' an americanized "version" - it was complete and utter tat and bore zero resemblance to LFN.

'La Femme Nikita' is a brilliant film.

Similarly, I am preemptively recoiling, rolling my eyes and making a face at the mere thought of the (soon to be released) american "versions" of The Millennium Trilogy books/films. :|

Last night TCM had a bunch of Buster Keaton films- I really enjoyed watching the camera and stunt work. Most of it done in one take, too.

I was about to go to bed last night when I came across Milk (the movie about Harvey Milk with Sean Penn playing the lead) on TV.

Brilliant and definitely well worth staying up for.

Indeed!

Trying to catch The Debt and Moneyball this week. Sometimes, I really like going to a movie theater, especially here. The Cerrito- it was re-discovered under an old furniture store after it closed. Received historical status and was finally re-opened after renovations. Amazing Art Decco! Going to see old movies there is a real treat! Good place to wear a Bogey repro fedora!!

I saw "50/50" the other night, and thought it was pretty good. And it has a killer soundtrack. And I'm now in love with Anna Kendrick. ;)

Paul

I saw the movie "Paul". It was kind of a silly movie but if you're in the mood for a movie that you can just sit back and laugh at because you think its funny or because it's stupid, this is the one for you! I really enjoyed it.

It's about an alien that gets stranded on earth and is trying to get back to a certain place so his mothership can pick him up. Along the way he befriends two comic con fans in an RV that help him travel and elude the government agents looking for him. There's a lot of adventure and hilarity best suited for adults.

I saw 3 movies this morning {or late last night, whichever}

The American (George Clooney), it's claimed to be action/adventure, but I saw it more as a Dramatic Adventure....I tend to try "new" things out at random if I'm bored enough...The ending was slightly fucked...but I enjoyed the movie anyways ( I loved the scenic views of "italian" small villages)

Sex and the City 2 (I was 'bored', damnit..lol) Samantha was DAMN lucky she had miranda by her side in abu dabi LMFAO....and Carrie / Big have srs issues, no?......

The Mist (based on stephen king's short novella), saw this one for the 20th time, it's one of the Precious few, astonishingly itty bitty FEW movies that I would say actually Trumps the books version...and the Music was mesmerizing...again, the Ending is Fucked...but still...Awesome flick ....

Tonight ...maybe I watch all of "The Prophecy"' series.

I just watched The Safety of Objects, it's an offbeat movie about grief and human frailty. It's worth a look.

Citizen Ruth...a great comedy about the policy politics of abortion vs the reality of the women the policies are about...

Contagion

I just saw Contagion. It's a compelling story and allegory that's fast paced and well acted. I enjoyed it and may see it again on the big screen. It's always good to see a Soderbergh film, and Cliff Martinez gives us another fine soundtrack.

This is a Tagalog movie, I hope this counts.
This is a story about a mother who's son is gay and has cancer.

This movie is special to me because this is the only movie I watched after Red died. I was with my mother when I watched this in movie theater. Thanks to my Nanay (mother) who's very supportive of me and loves me for who I am. The movie was shot in New York, that my mother is quite familiar because she had the chance to visit some places there.

The Big Year with Jack Black and Steve Martin and Owen Wilson

It was ok, had a few funny moments but if you are into birds or birdwatching then go see it.

In Time

... straight to my top movies of all time list... easy. Very well done and the message/s crystal clear and familiar as looking out your window... seriously, I think everyone should have to see it.
