I always had a dream of a loved one about a week after they passed. My father came to me and showed me where he was living and some neat furniture with colored lights inside. He also gave me some words of advice that if I had heeded, would have helped me. There were a lot of people walking around in a hurry to get somewhere, just like rush hour here. My mother also came to me after suffering so long and I told her, "Oh Ma, you suffered so much!" And she replied, " But I'm better now, forget about it, thats all in the past."

Just got a call. She passed an hour ago. Immediately a song came to mind. Posted it on "What are you listening to" thread.

I see a lot of death in my career. I've held hundreds of hands as they have crossed over. Some I know go into the light with warmth and peace, you can just feel it in the room. Others, not so much, there is a darkness, cold and forboding feeling that is not pleasant.

I am positive my friend has gone into the light. I am positive that she is happy and at peace.

She gave me so much in the short time i knew her.

This is not a sad post. This is on the paranormal thread for a reason. We had a connection. And now, after her time has come and gone, I have a strong feeling that I have not heard the last from her.

Thanks all for letting me post about this, it has helped me tremendously.

Belle

Belle, I have a feeling you have a new Angel or Spirit Guide there (f)

Popcorninthesoffa,

I too have had the same experience as you have. It is about a week after some loved one has died, and I am fast asleep that they come to me. No words are spoken, but they show me that they are healthy & happy. Nothing like here on earth. It is a blessing to have them do this. It gives me a sense of peace that is awesome.

As a rule I don't subscribe to or delve into the paranormal.
Although, I did post in a thread somewhere that I got off an elevator in a parking garage, began walking and smelled my mom's perfume. It happened maybe a month or so after her death.

Tonight I was in my kitchen and I smelled mens cologne.
jus' sayin' *with a shrug.*

Just because someone is raised in the Catholic faith, does not mean that they are Roman Catholic.

O

True. The so called American Catholic church is in descension from Rome.

If I stand in a garage does that make me a mechanic? Is that what you are trying to say, Jet? Also, odors do give away the presences of a lost loved one on the other side trying to make contact with you.

Andrew, I think you are wrong here. I don't think that is what Jet is trying to say. Not even close.

Most people think "Roman Catholic" when they hear "catholic church" there are really about 20 or so different catholic churches in the world.

The Roman Catholic Church is the Latin Rite and then there are the Eastern Rite churches such as:
Coptic Catholic Church
Ethiopic Catholic Church
Maronite Church
Syrian Catholic Church
Armenian Catholic Church
Chaldean Catholic Church

These churches are "in communion" with Rome but are not Roman Catholic.

Note - Eastern Rite is NOT the same as Eastern Orthodox.

"Rite" has to do with liturgical tradition from a specific center. In this case the Vatican.

Eastern Orthodox is a body of churches including the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches.

Andrew, Jr. 07-11-2010 08:22 AM

Oh, ok. I was not sure of what he was saying. I was confused. Thanks! :hangloose:

Jet 07-11-2010 01:41 PM

I understand the American Catholic church has formed its own liturgy, dogmas, etc. which are not part of the true Roman Catholic church. Also, any church operating with pre-Vatican II laws and practices etc. are not authentic or accordance with Rome.

Jet,

Where did you get that information from? I never heard of that before.

MysticOceansFL 07-11-2010 06:16 PM

I agree with you my ex is Ukrianian and leans towards the Russan cathlic

MysticOceansFL,

There is a rather large following of the Russian Catholic religion here in Baltimore. I am not sure of what the name is of the Church. It's gorgeous from what I have seen on the outside. Just gorgeous.

Okay...here's what's been going on...

I came in to work tonight to be told about an "incident" happening last night. I night manage a domestic violence shelter, and the shelter itself is inside what my town calls a "historic home". It has new siding and new additions, but the original structure is very old. Not sure the exact date of the original build but I'm gonna research that. Anyway...

Two of the ladies who smoke were outside around 11:30p last night. We have outdoor nightlights that kind of illuminate the yards. They heard something walking through the grass, then the seat on the swingset moved, then they heard footsteps climbing onto the wooden porch steps. They said it was loud, almost stomping. Even the cats freaked out and ran away from that side of the porch. The footsteps then walked to the other side of the porch, down the steps, and continued to stomp up the concrete stairs to the gate where they stopped. The sensor lights didn't come on, but they could see the swing moving and hear the footsteps, and they both "felt" the air get a little cooler when the footsteps were near them. One lady had never experienced anything like it so she ran in the house. The other lady is fullblooded Cherokee so she understood what was going on, and said it had an "evil" feel to it.

I've heard from staff and a couple other ladies that sometimes they hear footsteps on the stairs inside the house, and a few other odd noises and "feelings". I haven't really noticed anything but noises, which at the time I attributed to maybe a resident moving around late at night, but I'm gonna start paying more attention. I also thought it was just my nerves when I first started, but when I went out to smoke late one night I didn't even finish my cigarette because I felt like I was not alone, and had an odd feeling of fear. I assumed it was due to the job itself but now I wonder...

I shall keep you posted if anything else happens...

On a hot sticky night in 1912 in Villisia, Iowa, a family of six were murdered with an axe in their beds. To this very day, no one lives in this house even though it had several owners since, no one feels comforfortable enough to stay there. The history of this house goes back to when the Fox tribe controlled "Willisia-meaning place of evil." The place where the house now sits is the exact location where the Fox and Sioux sent their criminally insane members. They put them there because they believed the ground was negative. Native Americans always studied where animals felt safe, how trees grew, what plants grew well in places. They knew that poisonious plants, stinging insects, and misshapen plant life were results of negative energy. it's good to know the history of a place.

I'm busy getting ready for our next investigation at the Castle Keep, in Newcastle Upon Tyne
http://www.castlekeep-newcastle.org.uk/keep_index.htm
There's the site link if anyone's interested.
It's an interesting place, My first invest there, although I've been there for college many years ago.
We're also due to go to a haunted pub, from what I've been told of the last invest, there are still lots of spirits present, even the soldiers of Cromwells army can still be heard marching past through their mustering grounds ...

I'll keep everyone informed as to what happens in both places.

I most certainly shall. I've already promised to take rav when she comes over My side of the pond, whether it's on a hunt or not.
I'll have my camera in my hand at all times, my Mum did an invest there, and one of the photo's taken was literally a cloud of orbs all around the entire group!

Log: approximately 12:40am (it is now 12:51am)

I was standing outside the shelter, smoking a cigarette on the porch. I had the outside lights on. I heard very distinctive heavy footsteps on the porch. They seemed to start only a couple feet in front of me and continue to the other end of the porch. I froze. The cats scattered, all except one. It stood with it's hair on end, looking up as though looking at a person. And then it was over...

I need to bring a voice recorder or cam to work with me.

Ghost Huntin' Daddy 07-27-2010 11:13 PM

First of all, Massive...Happy hunting and I'm so jealous I could just spit!!!!! LOL

dixie....I so want to investigate that place!!!
