I'm new and haven't been on a chat site/forum in a few years. Hoping to get back in the swing of things and meet some nice folks. Could someone please explain how to change your avatar to something personal instead of just the generics? Thanks!

:daywalker:

Hello Pajamazon and welcome to the site! It's like riding a bicycle. You'll get the hang of it quickly!

I believe the avatar thing has to do with what type of subscription you have for the site. Check out the home page on the left and it will have a list with subscriptions listed there.

Enjoy!!

Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for this thread....phew! I was wondering how I could start a new thread to introduce myself without having first posted 30 times, lol! :tease:

My name is Snow and I'm new to, and confused about, everything on here so please be patient with me : )

I'm looking forward to meeting lots of lovely new people here on what looks like a very warm and friendly site!

Best wishes,

Greetings from South Texas!

So glad to find this forum! I've been looking for a place to chat with more like-minded folk and...well, here you are!

I am a manager in IT for a mutual fund company by day and an entrepreneur the rest of the time. The woman who has tolerated me for 12 years and I have recently started a business together to include a podcast that just released to iTunes and Stitcher radio in June. We created our business and podcast to serve as a resource for vegetarians, vegans, and those we affectionately call the "veg-curious" hehe.

Hoping to find some great folks here to chat with!

Hey all! This is Mac, and I haven't been on a forum like this in years; I frequented the other BF forum while I was in college, but it looks like it's pretty defunct, so I decided to give this one a try! I've just relocated to a brand new state and am missing having any sort of a community, so I'm glad to be here!

Welcome!

hi

My name is Niki and I've been a member since 2010, but I haven't used the site yet. I'm recently out of a long term relationship and I realized when the relationship ended that I really needed to work on building friendships of my own. I'm ready to explore the South and make new friends.

I'm an educator, I'm a student (working on my second Master's), I'm an artist (I sell jewelry and art here in Nashville), I am an animal lover and an adventurer.

I love music. Can't live without it. I really need to meet someone who will go to shows with me.

I'm reading Blueprints of the Afterlife, and it's messing me up because it is so good and strange and post apocalyptic. My next book will be Gaiman's Ocean at the End of the Lane.

I have had Shooter Jennings' Black Ribbons album playing on a loop for 2 days (that is unusual for me.)

I don't know shit about sports.

I'm really hoping to make it to Little Rock this year!

OH and I really need to know how to upload a custom avatar. Gotta work on the whole Beaker look; I mean there is no question I'm a nerdy girl, but Beaker is taking it to unnecessary extremes.

Hellllo NMNIki. Welcome back to the planet. I can't believe you joined and left us! What matters is you are back now. I think you'll find a lot of great folks here from the South and probably make a lot of new friends. Little Rock is a great event so trying to make it will be worthwhile and a lot of fun!

Hi Fierce! Welcome to the planet, our little home away from home. It can be confusing at first but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Practice makes perfect. Anyway, have fun!

Welcome to the planet batennisboy! My guess is that if you have been here a few weeks, you are already having some fun. Enjoy!

Vanya 08-03-2013 05:59 PM

Wow. I can't... believe... I'm doing this... again.

I'm Evan -- I go by Vanya (Russian-style nickname, from my father's side of the family). I'm a life-long out dyke who is finally, at 60-ish, owning that I'm trans. I was that kid -- drove my mother crazy from day one because I refused to wear skirts, spent my birthday money on toy trucks, and wanted to be Clint Eastwood when I grew up.

I've always passed as a guy about half the time in casual interactions (grocery store, etc.)... I've always preferred "Sir" to "Ma'am... etc., etc., etc.

So here I am, and it's weird, scary, but pretty exciting to be coming out all over again, and deciding (literally) what to make of myself.

And I'm dead happy to have found this forum, which seems like a good place to hang out and maybe get some support as I figure all this out...
