I TRIED to use Jacques as an ambassador. I was trying to catch a strayed dog (she had a collar but was skittish) but instead of signaling to her that I was a safe person to go to, he chased her down the street!!
NO treats for you! |
Heidi got to go sit out on patio by the water with us at a new restaurant we found! She sat in chair beside me and was so very well mannered. I love her so much!

EARLY this morning...
I heard kitten little scratching. I thought she was in the cat box. But she just wouldn't stop! I shushed her and tried to get her to come back to bed. The noise continued. I finally turned on the light and she had her lil baby paws in the (empty) water dish and was just digging and digging like a raccoon! She was born outside, so I don't know if she thought she could dig and make the water appear? I filled it nice and full for her and she was appeased. I never have seen a cat who loves her water that much.... |
They are awesome. Like they are everyday.
|
Kitten little has has suddenly taken to sitting on her back legs and boxing Jacques face. :|
Bless his heart... He tolerates it so patiently. And when he's actually feeling playful, he will either pin her or chase her...lol |
Smudge was sick ALL day yesterday! We went to the vet last night and got some meds and fluids. Today.... He is pooping wads of paper! No wonder... :/
|
9 years ago I rescued my boy Fruitcake. He makes me smile every single day.
:heartbeat: love of my life :heartbeat: |
Lola Mia will be the kitten's name...but I do tend to call her Precious....
Sooo...Lola has taken to playing with my feet and hands (and hair) while I do yoga. So now I have to fight off the ninja kitty while downward dogging.... She also plays fetch with a paper ball. I was laying on my yoga mat after doing my back work and she repeatedly brought the paper back dozens of times for me to throw to her lol. Her name really should be Spaz.... :eatinghersheybar: |
She keeps shoving her old ratty Marty Moose at me.
|
She's sitting and staring at me without blinking. I think she's trying to use mind control on me.
|
The kitty found and tried to eat a 6 inch piece of ribbon. I caught him with about an inch of it hanging out of his mouth. The rest he had already swallowed. I was able to pull it out, but this is no bueno as he has already had to have one abdominal surgery for eating some string that got tangled up inside him. He is obsessed with strings and ribbon. :sigh:
|
Lola took it upon herself to knock the bathroom wastebasket on its side, take out the (empty) trash bag and proceed to use the trash can as her own personal amusement ride.
When she was done, she went and played with the empty bag; a big no no and she KNOWS IT!! She's so damn cute....good god... |
Tiny dog supervised while I baked Christmas cookies, wrapped presents and finished my last craft project gift. It wasn't a very exciting day for her, I'm afraid. She didn't even get to help eat the cookie mistakes because they are chocolate. However, she is dreaming now and unaware that Santa has filled her stocking, and in the morning she will have an abundance of toys and treats, and will get lots of loves and attention tomorrow.

My cats rejected $140 worth of xmas presents. Next year I'm just going to give them an assortment of found objects: milk bottle caps, pen caps, pine cones, smelly green walnuts that fall from our tree, etc. They'd probably like those better than expensive laser toys anyway. At least they liked their special dinner.

I woke up with my lovin spoonfuls cuddling me today....awww and they still are now. Sweet peas :) |
That is funny! But, Petco does allow pets in the store... so maybe that's not such a crazy idea to give them a gift card & let them pick out their own gifts. Then they can try out the toys in the store before purchasing. I'm sure Petco would *love* that. It would save me some trips though. :-)

It's been a nearly non stop snugfest today!
Lola has not wanted to leave my chest (her spot, since Jacques gets my lap) ALL day except for some playing and eating time...I wonder if I should worry hmmm.... And Jacques is tuckered out from our scampering today.... Wondering what Lola will do when she gets too big for my chest hmmm....also wondering what she will do when she gets too big for the crook of my elbow! It's sooo cute how she makes a lil nest there...lol |
I know I know...I'm the crazy cat/dog lady now....
BUT I decided to make a "treat" for the furballs today for Christmas, since it IS their Christmas too and it should be special.... SO the other day I bought some chicken hearts and gizzards....I didn't really know what a gizzard was...still don't really. I just COULD recognize the heart and deduced that the other "thing" was the gizzard...I don't know why I thought gizzards and giblets were the same...anywho... Whilest I was frying them up in the pan, Lola somehow figured out they were a tasty treat for her. Not ONLY did she hold vigil with Jacques, she tried to jump up and climb the cabinet to get to the stove  She has NEVER done this. Guess they smelled good... The heart part came out nice and tender and cut it into pieces and the gizzards I could really only give to Jacques since they were...fleshier...I made a nice gravy and poured it over some leftover rice and put some nice pieces in for the tomcat I feed. Lola had her fair share and Jacques had a ton too. Full bellies all around :) |
Our bubbies and their sister were great today. They all got new collars from Santa and a USA made rawhide that they hid for later.
