Dinner, and conversation---all the way home, even when I stopped for gas.

Watching the OSU - Stanford game with my new friend, DN, at the club. OSU won in overtime! It was a back and forth game but that's just part of the story. I had such a fun time with her, she's so real, single, no head games. Getting to know her is what's making me smile every day. :D

Honey 01-03-2012 03:07 AM

I LOVE THIS!! :) I went out of town once and when I returned and opened my office door my co-workers had turned everything in my office upside-down...even my desk!!! Another time they moved my entire office into the bathroom. It was hysterical. :)

One time a coworker went on vacation for a week, and when she was gone we cleared everything from her desk (I mean everything- phone, computer, etc.), and hid her chair. It was a good time.

Holy crap!

Just found out I got into the apartment building I wanted. It's right in the gaybourhood, a grocery store two doors down, lots of coffee shops and restaurants, bookstores, and a 24 hour drug store 2 blocks away. Move in day is Feb 1.

foxyshaman 01-03-2012 01:39 PM

A set of microfleece sheets - pink - came to my office this morning. I sent a text to my daughter asking her if she wanted them (brand new, returning x-mas present). She said her boyfriend would have a problem with pink. I laughed. I could identify. I guess they are going to be returned to the store afterall.... but microfleece...ooohhhh aaaaahhhhh nice for northern weather.

Wonderful News, Ruby!!! You deserve goodness in your life right now. :) Roll around in it a bit! :goodluck:

I'm famous, errr, infamous for doing things like that. When people leave, i'd put a tiny piece of tape under their trackball mouse or laser light, disabling the mouse. Creating a fake desktop that didn't actually have any pointer is also fun. Oh, and i've hidden a webcam (not plugged in, just tucked the wires away) in the vent in the ceiling of a coworker's office. She was all kinds of paranoid that she was being watched. Let's see, um, put plastic wrap over the toilet bowl (under the seat) in the men's bathroom, filled an office with balloons and TP'ed an office. This could be why i'm self-employed, eh?

A wonderful hair stylist....who made Rooster comfortable and chatty....then turned around and made mom feel good about her appearance again. The chemo has thinned her hair so much that she felt it was impossible to "look decent" and had just pulled it all back in a hair band.

This lovely lady, on hearing about the cancer and the chemo, took the extra time to show Mom how to blow dry in more volume....and mom left with a smile on her face, and a very flattering new style.

I am always impressed by people who take the time to be sensitive and kind. :rrose:

I am fairly certain you laughed out loud instead of just smiling. That will teach you to not be such a show off. :p

A phone call from my BFF.
...And the fact that I'll still use the term BFF in my mid-30s. Hey, I think it's good I don't take myself too seriously ;)

I've been measuring things so there's a tape measure draped over the back of my office chair. The Her Royal Peskiness wears her own magnetic door key on her collar. As she passed my chair the metal end to the tape measure attached to the door key which left a 2ft long kitty (inc tail) dragging a 5ft tape measure behind her.

:cracked: Well it made me laugh

Getting a phone call from a colleague who’s been off work for a while to look after her husband….she wanted to chat and hear my voice because she’s missed me. I smiled and had a wee cry. (f)

Would have loved to have seen that!

My smile came today when I got an invite from a friend to come watch the bowl game with her this Friday night. It will be good to see her new place, and really good for ME to get out of my apt/office space for a bit! I have been isolating for too long here, under the guise/excuse that I am too "busy".

(and even though she is just a good friend and there is NOTHING between us and never will be, she is the cutest little butch you could ever see. A wee bit of eye candy on a Friday night is NOT a bad thing!)

The bad prose and original stories thread

Each time I swear to myself I will wait until I get home to read the stories posted since I last read but I am compelled to read them.

I then spend the next few minutes wiping tears from my eyes and trying to suppress my laughter since I am reading them at work (bad Anya). Yes, I know I have an off-the-wall sense of humor but know I am not alone in that around here!

We have some awesome writers on the Planet and I do way more than smile each time I say to myself: "Just take a look-you can read them later".

Right.

TheDreadPirateRoberts 01-04-2012 04:55 PM

talk of office supplies n assignment readings....and that adorable blush...

Just about everything made me smile today. It was amazing! Students on task at school, daughter respectful at home, and I found that sweet spot of joy inside I misplaced.
