sitting within earshot of a conversation my daughter is having with her friend..and not purposely listening, but catching a few moments of what she was saying which made me really smile..

in fact - made me feel like i really have done good..
Single parenting has it's difficult moments, but moments like this, that make the heart smile knowing she hears me, learns from me and really looks up to me and loves the heck out of me.. even through my imperfections and my sillyness and embarrassing moments over the years, they really look up to me and truly do respect me now as the young adults theyre growing into...

these teenager years i was sure were turning me gray! but seems these moments will make every gray worthwhile! ♥ i sure do love the heck outta them!

energy

i woke up this morning with little fatigue and pain. i was able to do a complete morning's session of chanting, reading, prayer, study, and meditation at my altar, something i hadn't been able to do for a few weeks! this always brings me a feeling of deep contentment and peace, such a wonderful way to start my day.
*sending peace and joy to all*

Sitting at my favourite overlook on the BRP, enjoying my coffee and a misty, soggy sunrise - the sun struggling to be seen through the clouds covering the mountaintops...very good for the mind, body and soul...

This morning when I went to feed the outdoor critters....I found 4 TINY precious brand new babies!! I just LOVE baby animals!! Especially when they are this CUTE and have such sweet tiny ears and tiny little voices!! (however, enough is enough already!)

I sent a text to my roomie... "1 calico, 2 black-n-whites and 1 ORANGE baby!!!
Imagine that!! an ORANGE kitty to go with Blade's collection of Tennessee fan club stuff!

The other thing that brought me joy....finding a foster home today for ALL the babies and momma cat. I get one night with my sweet babies, then they get to go to a really good home where they will get all the care/vet visits they need and then put into a No Kill adoption program!! That makes me very happy for them.

I brought in my "greenhouse" which is nothing more than a stacked set of shelved with plastic over them, with a zippered door. I think I can get my daughter to haul in topsoil and help me load up trays. I have to get the squash families started. I am already a couple weeks behind but thats not too bad.

I decided I am going to go thru the motions. If nothing else, my niece can sell the starts at her garage sale in May. If I am lucky, I can plug them into some raised beds I hopefully can pay someone to put up if my SSDI checks get here fast enuf. I have one in the makings, setting out back, ready to be assembled.

I got cat litter buckets today from garden friends so I could plant some potatoes.

My joy comes because I havent lost hope. And because I do have faith I will still be able to garden. No considering how I feel right now, and how long lasting this ordeal has been, most other would have given up.

But I plan on eating from my back yard this year....

Glad to see the gardening going on. This May 15th, I will plant my 7th Rose Bush out front. One for every year post diagnosis of endometrial cancer.

Question> Potatoes in plastic buckets. I have lots of those in the garage. Saved, because I knew they would come in handy someday.

here is a fella who has a whole set of videos that goes step by step on potato buckets!

the other thing buckets are good for, is compost tea. Stick manure in the bucket, about 1/4 full, add water, stick it out in the sun and let it sit for a few days, with the lid on or off. I like the lid on. It brews it like sun tea. Wonderful nutrients for your garden.

The high today was 72∘. However my joy will be short-lived; tomorrow's forecast calls for rain and snow showers. :|
