I finally have 2 completely done! It's taking longer than I originally thought. But the end is in sight! And thank goodness I didn't leave this one to the last minute. :)
|
Bummer! I'm reading this now. Mostly I'm sorry she's not able to receive them, I'm sure they'd all be lovely. Gotta say, I'm pretty pleased with how hers turned out. :(

I like busy collages!

I'm starting to really enjoy the process....now that I'm finishing these suckers up! Ha!
At first, I was a wee bit concerned about the crowding and collaging too but we're dealing with much smaller sizes than what you see on the videos, Google and Pinterest so it's to be expected unless someone uses size 8 font in their quotes and inchie sized pictures. There's just not going to be much room unless someone only uses one piece of text or only one picture but it's good, I think. Besides, some of the themes kind of cross reference one another so that makes it even better. I've been feeling happier the past few days while I've been working on them so I think the Universe's positivity juju is kicking in (because it's not that they look especially fantastic). I even got a bit verklempt once or twice. Of course, it could be hormonal, but I feel like I'm getting something out of this too so I'm super glad that nan proposed this project. |
Didn't now there was a particular direction to go... and yet.. I still managed to go in the opposite direction... non-busy... non-collage. :p
|
Im getting nervous I won't make it in time but I'm working furiously and doing my best. This for some reason is so hard for me.
|
It turned out much more difficult for me too. I think... I'm nearly... almost... possibly … very close to being done. Don't fret... now you've only gotta do seven and you've got a whole nothing week and weekend! lol ;)
I thought I had a nice collection of magazines from which to pull from … nope! Couldn't find squat in any of them … okay, maybe like three pics … so nearly every image came from the internet. Must have been kizmet cuz I was in need of a new printer anyway! :p Quote:

Bit of a delay but they went in the mail today. I sent them priority so they should reach nanners well before the deadline.

Mine will be in the mail tomorrow.

Done! The USPS gal said it should be Saturday but it might be Monday. Something about snow about to drop in our Wrangler's area.

Nan... box full... see thanks message. :p lol
|
Thank Goodness we have a one week grace period. I really need this weekend to finish up.
And talk about last minute! - I'm going to _have_ to use my printer for this project. There are some pix I want to use and I am just not willing to cut up the magazines. So I ordered some printer ink today - just in time! - for it to get here Saturday. (Yes, I could have gone to Staples, but I hate going in that store, even just for a pick-up.) |
Lyle, no problem!
FSF, I got yours today. Will update things this weekend. I gotta finish mine!:|:| |
Me too... I went the printer route on most of them. I'm just not a magazine owning kinda Butch. :p

Im still really struggling with this project. It's proven extremely difficult to find appropriate pictures for a lot of you with the magazines I have. I don't know how you all are doing it. I'm really afraid of not finishing. I don't own a printer so that's not an option. It's going to be storming tonight so I can't really procure other sources of pictures. Maybe I should have done that.
I have a LOT of stuff cut out, it's just mostly words and it's not coming together. It's like pulling teeth. I'm afraid of having to drop out. But that wouldn't be fair to everyone who put hard work into boards for me already. Maybe I need a pep talk. |
You could always draw or paint things you can't find, not that you're exceptionally talented in that area or anything ;). Think outside the box of what a vision board can mean. You got this! :koolaid:

Excellent idea nycfem!
CCB... If ya can't cut n paste then draw, scribble, paint, whatever! The most important thing about a vision board is the vision... not the medium with which it's made. Don't sweat the bits n pieces... focus on the message you want to convey and it'll be smashing! :koolaid: Quote:

You've got this CCB! I've seen you pull it out at the last minute many times. You thrive under pressure! |

I would be happy with anything to do with a mermaid OR dolphins! You KNOW I beez likin' them lots! Like GM said, don't stress about having to fill up every single square inch...:) YOU. GOT. THIS! Kiddo! |
Thanks you guys!!! I have some ideas going with painting and drawing now. And yes, GeorgiaMa'am, I do tend to thrive under pressure. I'll pull something out of my ass today!
|
Ok, I'm on a roll now and got over whatever block I was having. I can see the end in sight.
Thank you all for reals for the ideas and pep talks, it really helped. <3 |

Besides, I took care of the leave no background visible thing. Seriously, I think I was allergic to it. And some things aren't even straight but hey, that's life, right? Quote:

If there's some union rule about not leaving any background visible... I'm so in the doghouse! :p Per usual... I played well outta the box on this one! :koolaid:

I am DONE! This took quite a bit more time than I expected, but I'm pleased with the results. I think you all will be too. And I'm SO EXCITED! I can't wait to see what you all did! Nanners, I don't think there's any way I can get to the P.O. before 5pm tomorrow, so it will probably be Thursday before you get mine. I'll send it out Priority Mail. |
I'm glad to hear that! And my backgrounds are black...not white. I'm such a naughty crafter! :p
I'm very excited as well to see everyone's creations! :koolaid: Quote:

My confession is that I have compulsively collected collage items from magazines for over 25 years and have them all organized and stored. This is why I excelled at this project. Better that I use them now than die with all these scraps :D. It DID take ages to do, however, because there were so many to go through! BUT it did put me at an advantage!
|
At the 9th hour, I am finished!!!! I am happy with the results. I want you all to know that even though this came together at the last minute, I didn't just throw them together and took time to think of each of you as I made yours.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ENCOURAGED ME AND/OR GAVE SUGGESTIONS ALONG THE WAY!!!! I should be able to get to the post office tomorrow or Tues, so nanners, you should get them just in time! |

I have regretted not joining this project every day since it was announced! That being said, Lyte your idea to use a black background was brilliant...I would of NEVER thought of that! |
Thank you! Hopefully we'll do it again! The black became a must based on the "backing" that I used. ;)

My vision boards are in the mail!!! Wahoo!!! Nanners, you should be receiving them Thursday.
|
Good job, CCB! See, I knew you would get it done...:)
|
Seeing as how current project is almost done, I have been twirling some noodles around in my brain...:).
I am thinking of maybe doing next project, unless anyone else wants to or has a burning desire to do so. My thoughts are: Twinchies......doing doodled zentangles.....with whatever medium you wish...colored pencils, gel markers, colored pens, etc. Here is some ideas in the link below... https://www.pinterest.com/artgirl67/...mples/?lp=true Of course, I want this to be a stress FREE, FUN project that is a no brainer...just a fun filler til we plan something BIG again... Thoughts, ideas, comments? Maybe a 5 week turn around.... |

nanners, you will receive my Vision Boards TOMORROW!!!

For example: draw a crescent moon. divide the moon up into sections or compartments. create a replicating pattern within each compartment. If you like the adult coloring, you would most likely like this. It's the reverse, basically. See? Another way of describing it might be 'doodling with intent'. |
I love the idea of twinchies! And I’ve never tried Zentangle before, so it would be a bit of a challenge but I’m up for it!
I’m looking forward to getting the rest of your vision boards. If I can make it to the post office on Saturday before they close I will mail them out. Otherwise it will probably be Monday or Tuesday before I can make it back to the post office. At any rate I hope to have them to you by the end of next week. |

Thanks for helping me, by posting more images, Gemme. Look forward to others input, too...:) |
I feel like I should take a break. I felt I should sit out the vision boards at first, and while I'm happy with how they turned out, I'm thinking I need to trust my instincts and sit one out.
Good idea, though, clay. |
