I simply can't understand how some people can be depressed this time of year, and no matter what you do to cheer them up they couldn't be bothered :(

Being that I'm considered a Country Bumpkin' I find it very difficult to fit in with the City Slickers crowd... Last night's party in town was nice, but I felt like a mouse amongst the cats.

It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's a real issue. Check it out, might give you new perspective.

The water fountain outside my window sounds peaceful, but until I open the blinds, it always sounds like it's raining. I am amazed when I actually get up, open the blinds and see the sun shining here in the PNW in the winter! It is cold, but beautiful out.

It occurred to me to say what I wanted to say in private. But no, I think you need to be called out for this totally dismissive comment....especially from you, Jet.

First, have some compassion. Open your eyes and look around to see that someone MIGHT be in pain this time of year.

I am one of those people. For, try as I might ~ and believe me, I DO ~ this time of the year IS very hard for me because I lost a child. We will never ever again share the joy of opening a present together under the tree.

Now I'm not asking for a pity party. I go through an entire year doing my best to deal so that people like you aren't uncomfortable.

There are very few things that make me see red. Congratulations. You did it.

Cookies can be mailed. Yes, yes they can. They survive quite nicely if wrapped in waxed paper, stuffed delicately in freezer bags, then wrapped in air bubbles or bubble wrap and put in a shipping box.
Cookies in the mail are one of the best ever holiday prezzies.

Not that Im hinting.

But my address is on the holiday greeting card list.
