Without question someone honest about who they are, where they are at and what if any experience with S/M they have had - absolutely. Some people make too much about "knowledge and experience". As long as someone has courage and nerve, is patient and willing to communicate while I couldn't teach most everyone to to do S/M with just anybody I could definitely communicate my needs, learn about what they want, negotiate and then help them connect with whatever resources it is they/I need to acquire in order to do S/M in a safe and sane, and consensual, responsible, mutually respectful, mutually fulfilling manner/way.
