I never get tired of walks with my dog. Strangers stop in their tracks to greet her -- she always succeeds in putting a smile on everyone's face (including hers -- yes, she's a smilin' kind o' dog).

YSK I took advantage of the warm weather and went running after dinner. YSK I am watching my best friends dog while she is in GA. She is the sweetest lilttle pomeranian. And she never barks. YSK I love watching Macy's day parade!!!! Someday I will make time and go see it in person. It's on my bucket list. |

YSK: Being included on the United Way scavenger hunt list (Hint 5: Find the girl with the gap-toothed smile in {division}) was alternately completely thrilling (as was posing cheesily for many phone pictures) and slightly insulting (people NOTICE? Oh God. Braces. I need braces now.) YSK: You save my butt on a daily basis by stepping up and being my technical lead without any accolades but the steady stream of "thank you thank you thank you" you get from me. This is worth a commendation to the company president. YSK: I keep putting the toonie I owe you in my wallet every day you're not there. Where should I leave it so you find it when I'm not there and you are? YSK: I couldn't live a day without you, Mom. YSK: Thank you for the balloon... I wrote HOORAY FOR EVERYTHING on it and carefully pinned it to my cupboard. Best. Boss. Ever. YSK: If you keep feeding me bacon at this alarming yet delightful rate, you will soon not be able to get your arms all the way around me. If that doesn't matter... *points to bacon hole/mouth* YSAK: To the above... I love you. Thank you for loving me. |
YSK its 7am and the sun isn't up yet. That is just wrong!!!!!!! The sun should be up at 0600 every morning without fail if you ask me. Another reason I don't like winter.

YSK I learned something today:
The construction "from whence" has been criticized as redundant since the 18th century. It is true that whence incorporates the sense of from: a remote village, whence little news reached the wider world. But "from whence" has been used steadily by reputable writers since the 14th century, most notably in the King James Bible: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help" (Psalms). Such a respectable precedent makes it difficult to label the construction as incorrect. Still, it may be observed that whence (like thence) is most often used nowadays to impart an archaic or highly formal tone to a passage, and that this effect is probably better realized if the archaic syntax of the word without "from" is preserved as well. The things you learn while you write papers. Now, that's taken up some space in my brain that was probably occupied by something useful. Dammit. |

Ysk I think there should be limits on certain types of posts.
Ysk Rearranging furniture on a sinking ship is fun to watch. Especially when we get play by play action. Ysk Statistics show people who have a life outside of their computers with real human friends and interactions , tend to be less depressed. And have much more exciting things to post about. |
