Speaking to my cousin on the phone today. Since my grandparents died when I was in my mid to late teens, I haven't been back to the farm as much as I used to, so haven't hung out with him as much as I used to. We used to be really close as kids, and still keep in touch over the internet. He's always accepted me for what who I am and I him (he's a rather feminine gay dude and was first kind of rocky for him coming out to his jehovah witness family lol But they accept him now, thankfully), so we've never really kept secrets from each other or judged each other.

Anyways, I haven't spoken to him in person or on the phone in maybe two years since he lives in Ottawa, but I was really glad that I got a chance to talk to him today. We spoke for like an hour and a half, which is weird for someone like me who hates phones lol!

What brought me joy today..

Was teaching Sunday School class and loving the unique way 4th and 5th graders act. I love my kids. Their enthusiasm and down right craziness always cracks me up.

Watching 38 children from pre-k to 5th grade get on stage and sing while signing the words.

last night I was talking in a parking lot with some friends and out of the darkness came a black kitten...she swirled like a shadow around my legs. It was so dark that when I said there was a cat, they couldnt even see her! I reached down and pulled her up and they were all suprised, Like I had pulled a rabbit from a hat! She clung to me lovingly. Here, I find, she had been hanging around there for a few weeks and people had been trying to catch her and no one could. But she had chosen me to come to! How odd! Well, she is in my dining room, under my alter, hiding at the moment. She is 6 to 8 months old and pregnant. And yet, very well kept. Not even wax in her ears. Yet hungry. Ate ravenously. Poor thing. Someone dumped her when they discovered she was pregnant. I am trying to find her a home but she will stay with me if no home is found. And she will be spayed regardless. After the babies are born. Aye. Smiling....a wee black kitten. She is so sweet. Her name is Lucy...

my house is filling up....did I mention I have a chihuahua?

What brought me joy today?

It's rainy and the thunder is softly rolling so I shamelessly enjoyed a midday nap. :)

also enjoying a rainy day, knowing that it brings much needed water to the ponds for the cows, the dry ground for moisture to grow green grass, and to bring an end to the drought and the wildfires...

Spending the last 2 hours with My sister, niece, and nephew. Having a long overdue heart to heart with My sister. Knowing that we have each other's backs... come what may... even when we may disagree with each other. Knowing that nothing nor no one can sever that bond. (f)

My niece sharing her Easter candy with Me. (f)

Free flowing words received via text. (f)

A call from the airport. (f)

My best friend Ms. Gayness herself.. sending Me a Happy Easter text.

Tomorrow .. finally starting My regular work hours.. aaah.. a routine.

My sister and niece making plans to come and see My new digs tomorrow evening. (f)

Wishing My Mom a Happy Easter. (f)

With a new chapter.. sometimes there are characters that can not be brought forward.. and there is peace in the knowing.

Knowing I am right where I am supposed to be.

Words with meaning, always.

Reflecting on a great weekend with friends, a good cause bringing us together, and a pretty laid back Easter Sunday with Easter baskets!

pink for blushing!

I am so embarassed! Before one assumes a big belly is filled with babies, one should turn the kitty around and look under the tail..oh what did I find there when I looked? Hmmm....butt balls! She is a he and he is not pregnant...just fat or wormy..either way he goes to the vet...oh lord...and his name is now Lucius!

No matter weather the kitty is a she or he ,it knews who would be the right one to go to so he would be safe and cared for,Since he has chosen you and has picked a place under your alter..Lucius has chosen a home as well.He chose well.

...Having one of the best...

Sunday's in quite a while. Sunrise service on the beach with my beloved mother and lovely daughter at my side. Then on to a bountiful Easter Sunday brunch overlooking our gorgeous bay. A visit to my aunt who is in the hospital...and recovering nicely from a health crisis. On to my apartment to hang more curtains, string lights around the tops of my kitchen cabinets to add some soothing ambiance to the room, repacking the smallest storage shed off the balcony to where not even an ant cannot fit in now, dinner at Denny's using the AARP card for that discount...on to her house and watching Joel Osteen speak about leaving a legacy for generations to come of kindness, compassion and faith.

I could not have had a nicer, more peaceful day than today.

Thanks, Mom. Thank you, my dear daughter. You lift me up and hold me tight.

I love you.

Coming into the house flustered from being soaked from the ankles down (walking barefoot in the rain to not soak my shoes grrr). Sat down on the couch and was immediately pounced upon by the dogs. I love those dang dogs! Kisses from my pups always make me smile.

A hectic and satisfying day at work.

Doing some shopping for the new place.

Notes filled with warmth.

A knowing - come what may, it remains.

Getting to go into work at noon tomorrow - even though I will have to stay later.

The view from My deck.

My first batch of homemade pasta sauce in My new place.

Learning and growing.

Kind rep notes.

Being pestered.

Words with meaning, always.
