Hope you all are doing good and keeping healthy. I got caught in the rain yesterday while leaving my part time job and came down with a cold lastnight. I played hookie from there today and I am off tomorrow...:) I cannot believe that my birthday is tomorrow and I will be spending it with great friends who keep surprising me with their love and support. Hey everyone! I'll be on a plane to Seattle tomorrow to ring in the new year on the opposite coast. Looking forward to leaving the old year behind and welcoming in the new one with what I hope are new (good) people, new adventures, and the strength to let go of everything that's been dragging me down.

I'll be working tonight. Didn't have plans for NYE anyway. I will get off at 11 p.m. head home to catch the celebrations and entertainment on the tube. Then working 4 hours on the 1st. Be safe ya'll if you are going out.

The new year has started out good, so far! I couldn't believe that not ONE store up here had the fixin's for hoppin johns! If I had known, I would have sent home and had someone mail me the field peas! So, instead of my traditional pork roast with hoppin john, I made a nice, lean roast that became a delicious homemade beef soup with homemade corn bread! I cooked 2 pots, and there is only ONE pot left! My family took big bowls of soup home for later. Cornbread, sad to say, didn't make it! It was gone! Not a crumb left over!
Of course I saved the best for last. As everyone was patting their well-fed tummies, I brought out the sour cream butter pound cake, the gingerbread cake and the chocolate cherry cake!!! I couldn't decide what to make for lunch, so I made all three! Anyone for leftovers??? |

My birthday was awesome :) Dinner with friend's and getting a dozen red roses with Godiva truffles was the best and I cried :) The love, support and friendship I have received from everyone has opened my eyes to the fact, that I don't have to settle for just anyone, but the one who will love me unconditionally. Hanging out with RuffRyder has made me laugh and going to watch football with hym was awesome, celebrating Christmas for the first time since my dad passed away, priceless and looking forward to my birthday made 2011 even more memorable! Getting a job with a company who encourages you to succeed and then picking up a part time job for Christmas and to be told, that they are keeping me on permanently has me paying everything forward! This time last year, I had nothing but my family and one year later, I have everything. My <3 is full of sunshine and love :)

morning singles!! im home from a fantastic holiday trip to my familys in calif..
hope everyone is well and had great holidays! i havent smoked a cigg for a month now!! not even one!! going to my heart doc for a stress test umm later this week.. should fly threw it! enjoyed my trip but im glad to be home! oh yea i gave up coffee for chia tea to .. guess calif will do that to ya. loving chia tea latte's got a milk frother for xmass. |
