Worked like a dog in my garden, then whacked them weeds without mercy, melted me face off

Martina 06-12-2018 02:32 AM

No, I saw some of those. I'll check next time.

Martina 06-12-2018 09:48 PM

I went to the YMCA today. The time in the pool was great, but getting from my car to the women's locker room and then from there to the pool was really hard. My knee is causing me a lot of pain. They have a plastic stair to make it easier for older and handicapped peoe to enter the pool, but it is wobbly and still pretty steep. Honestly it was a demoralizing experience today. It feels like I am just not able to navigate these obstacles without a lot of pain and some fear.

Martina 06-12-2018 10:49 PM

Just saw this. Sorry. No, I was using the tens for pulled back muscles. A lot of people benefit from them. I don't know that it speeds healing, but it can reduce pain.

Hella mess not to be able to walk!!

nycfem 06-16-2018 05:12 PM

I walked 30 minutes to the gym. I then ended up not having time for the gym because I'd been wandering in and out of shops :D. It was a nice walk because it was beautiful weather, and everyone was happy. It felt like Finally Summer.

Better...

I'd been a little blue for the last few weeks...lots of stress with tons going on...so this morning I swam some laps in the pool. It got me revved up enough to get moving. Yeah, I'm feeling better.

Canela, I'm sorry you've been feeling blue. But I'm glad you went out to see on the pool. Yay!! :)

I miss my PT pool therapy.... maybe by fall, I'll get to do that again.

I didn't do much of anything today except a few light household chores.

I did spend a little bit of time meditating and sometimes that's not easy to do.

I'll make up for my lack of mobility today by shopping for groceries and household appliances on Ruby Tuesday (loved that restaurant ).

I'm glad the swim helped you out today, Canela!

G, it sounds like you got some desert rain today! I bet it smelled lovely!

I love it that you got out to shop today, J. Nice!!

Gemme? You going shopping soon too? That plank exercise you do with your trainer sounds incredibly ... tough.
Have you tried rowing like Easy???

*waves hello to everyone * :)

Gemme 06-16-2018 07:21 PM

Nope, no shopping for me. Too much month and not enough money.

I have rowed. I like it but the rower my gym has does not show me caloric burn, etc, other than distance and time so I don't do it a lot.

Today was not memorable in terms of activity. I did more yesterday. Tomorrow I should get an official workout in the morning.

PlatinumPearl 06-17-2018 12:26 AM

Exercise...

15 min. of yoga early this morning, and walked a few blocks to get to a seminar and back.

RebelDyke 06-17-2018 01:03 AM

I have to ask.

Does it count as exercise if your ex keeps you on a merry go round? Because I will say this. I have lost like 4 pants sizes. So that's good, right?

I mean we talk about healthy stress and unhealthy. Anyone wanna borrow my ex? Hahaha.

Finally, the temp was down considerably this
am and rain continues on and off so the run
while a bit short, was delicious...running shoes
sticky with desert sand/mud mostly...I'm
enjoying this while I'm still here...this
afternoon rain or not meeting with straight
lady friend for our 4mi walk on a non-sandy
trail...new one for me so we'll see...

keep on keepin' on, Greco

Gym this morning!

Elliptical stats: 225 cal, 2.24 mi, 30:00 min

My cool down was shopping at Wally World.

cricket26 06-17-2018 11:53 AM

1 hour on the treadmill watching storage wars (3 miles 300 calories)

cricket26 06-21-2018 08:00 PM

1 hour on the treadmill watching youtube

I spent yesterday packing up more of my house. I sorta over did it, by also going down to check the mail. When I laid down at bedtime, my body locked up. Thankfully I could get out of bed today.

Today I plan to rest.

Tomorrow I plan to go shopping, which naturally is an time consuming activity and involves lots of walking.

Sunday I plan to rest.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Next week involves more walking on certain days, for special appts (doctor, attorney, new place of residence, etc).

I'm sorry your body had trouble keeping up with you. I've had that from time to time and it's easy to overdo things when you are chugging along.

BUT

Tomorrow (today) is Sunday.

Shop for half and rest for half of today?

As for myself, I finally dragged myself to the gym and did a decent workout.

Elliptical stats: 185 cal, 1.78 mi, 25:00 min

I cooled down by walking and shopping at Wally World.

RockOn 06-24-2018 09:48 AM

Does this count?

Unloaded 22 pallets off the truck early morning in the back woods. (will use the wood to burn stumps)

It made my biceps a little achey. (achie??, achy??) Well, they hurt briefly for a short while.
:)

RockOn 06-24-2018 10:00 AM

Hey Martina

Thank you for the info on the TENS. I am seriosly thinking about purchasing one, though my pain is no longer constant and most times not severe like it was. I believe PT twice a week is helping.

I am so sorry your knee is hurting. Pain is pain, regardless which area on one's body is hurting. And it gets so tiresome when you cannot get a breaktime from it.

Take care of it, wishing it to feel better very, very soon!

theoddz 06-24-2018 12:16 PM

Well...

I bought a new lawnmower for the new house. It's a Troy Bilt push lawn mower with self propulsion. Still, it's a workout, especially with the size of this yard. :|

Our house is situated on a bit of a hill, and there's always a breeze going. It was so nice and breezy this morning, it was a good workout and actually quite pleasant. I remember watching my Pop mow the lawn when I was a kid, growing up in Savannah, Ga. Pop would put on a pair of shorts, sneakers and shuck his shirt. Then he'd tie a white handkerchief around his head and get to mowing!! Today, I did the same thing, except for the handkerchief. It felt good on my bare skin, but made my chest hair blow in the wind and tickle a bit.

It feels good to get some exercise. :winky:
