The Travail Of Passion
by William Butler Yeats When the flaming lute-thronged angelic door is wide; When an immortal passion breathes in mortal clay; Our hearts endure the scourge, the plaited thorns, the way Crowded with bitter faces, the wounds in palm and side, The vinegar-heavy sponge, the flowers by Kedron stream; We will bend down and loosen our hair over you, That it may drop faint perfume, and be heavy with dew, Lilies of death-pale hope, roses of passionate dream. |
So very true...

Sincerity "The most exhausting thing in life, I have discovered, is being insincere." -Anne Morrow Lindbergh, 1955
Being sincere is being true to yourself. It is hard work being anything less. It takes a lot more mind games and that can be exhausting. What a terrible waste of energy! Being sincere is being genuine, authentic - and that is the more comfortable way to go. -Lissa Coffey |
“I believe all joy is an extension of gratitude. If we can find something to be thankful for, no matter what’s going on, no matter how small, we can grasp the coattails of joy.” —Xian Horn

'Twas Thanksgiving Night and all through the house Diva brought in decorations (Cuz she had no spouse!). The creatures were hiding all under the bed lest Mommy drop Santas right onto their heads! And I in my garage and finding it all, settled in for an evening of decking the Halls! ;-) When what to my wandering eyes did appear? A big red full box I thought I'd lost last year! With goodies and glitter and all things that shone, I brought them all into my sweet~scented home! Now Angels! Now Spangles! Now garlands and feathers! On stars and on snowflakes, let's make it much better! With box wine in hand, I stood up and admired a cute little Ricky climbing higher and higher! He was chubby and plump, a right sneaky fat cat And I laughed as I reached for the water ~ "You! SCAT!" I gathered the totes, lighter now than before, And squealed, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" as I slammed the back door! ~Diva |

“Perhaps it's true that things can change in a day. That a few dozen hours can affect the outcome of whole lifetimes. And that when they do, those few dozen hours, like the salvaged remains of a burned house---the charred clock, the singed photograph, the scorched furniture---must be resurrected from the ruins and examined. Preserved. Accounted for. Little events, ordinary things, smashed and reconstitutred. Imbued with new meaning. Suddenly they become the bleached bones of a story.”
― Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things |

Really feeling this right now
Changing your life does not always mean that you stop doing certain things. It may mean that you start doing certain other things. Rather than beating yourself up for what you are not doing, appreciate and celebrate the things that you are doing. Focus on what you do, can do, choose to do, are ready to do.
~~Iyanla Vanzant |
Challenges come so we can grow and be prepared for things we are not equipped to handle now. When we face our challenges with faith, prepared to learn, willing to make changes, and if necessary, to let go, we are demanding our power be turned on.
