Because I received a gift that I needed ... and didn't know that I needed it.

Because my tea water was hot when I came upstairs. Because my tank was on empty last night and full this morning. Because I am heard and acknowledged.

Because I have a friend who will always protect me (f)

I know I am loved because I no longer look for it outside myself. So when those sweet loving things happen, it's blessings on blessings......

All of my needs, wants, & must have's are always met with a smile. When I am sick, I have someone in the chair next to my hospital bed. I am very blessed.

I could go on and on with this list cause hy just seems to do it all right, even when lifes not perfect...but isnt that what unconditional love feels like...

...my sweetie kisses me last thing at night, and first thing in the morning

...she rubs my feet (even though she really thinks feet are sort of icky)

...she likes to surprise me...calling me to ask if I can run out for lunch in the middle of the day...and tonight she gave me a silver bracelet with a clasp made of cat's heads holding the catch loop in their mouths...never seen anything like it...and love it :love1:

...I know I can leave for a week for work, and she'll take good care of my son (even though she will encourage him to burp and fart :| )

...my shell and stone collection from the beach includes several items she found for me...shaped like hearts

...because he looks at me that way.
...because he wants to be with me & spend time with me.
...because he will do anything for me.
...because let's me get my way (sometimes lol.)
...because he opens my doors and fixes everything for me.
...because I don't have to beg, plead or cry for any of the above.
It just is.

And I love it!

I guess one of the reasons I am not in a romantic relationship is that when I have tried, I tended to compare the person I was with, with the people I had been with. Akwardly, I felt the way I could feel I was loved, was that they wouldnt do to me what the past ones did to me. Therefore, I set it up for the people who got involved with me to always have to strive to undo what the others had done to me to make me feel loved by them. Wow. Did that work? Hell no!

Well, I dont do that now. Now when I am going to be in love, I will feel love because I am lovedby what they have to offer, not because I someone has to whittle off a piece of a hard feeling from me....thats MY work to, not theirs. And I am doing it now, before I even try a romance again.

But I do feel loved by people now. I feel loved by them cheering me on and supporting me and giving me room to grow and standing by me thru all the changes I go thru. And they like the fact that I am getting stronger on my own, not out of them. I have great friends. They could have made this alot easier on me, taken over and just made a life for me. Instead, they let me make a life for myself. I love them for that. I am coming out of a very dark two year period. But what is there for me, is Me. Now thats how I know I am loved....
