Going organic!
I think if I like something, it is something I like. Which does not mean it is art.
When I look at the Nike of Samothrace in the Louvre and I stay spellbound, transported beyond myself and beyond time, experiencing feelings of unity with the universe, and an ineffable joy, I am in the presence of art. What is called art today rarely transports me beyond myself and beyond time. Some of it pleases me, some of it I like, some of it leaves me indifferent, some of it I despise. I will defend anyone's right to have a velvet Elvis on their mantelpiece, while surrounding myself with Japanese woodblock prints of the Edo period. Elle* |

I don't have any of the art mentioned......I think I am Velvet Elvis deprived lol
I never thought of drying out my peeps and making a collage, next Easter that is first on my agenda. I am a Dali fan - but alas I don't own any yet. Gimme time I will. Art is art and it's in the eye of the beholder - so what I like might give someone shivers and vice versa, but as long as I like it.... It's not bad art - It's My art ;) |
